Dear Ms. Meek,

As you are aware, I am a certified handwriting and document examiner whose

training, experience and other qualifications are evidenced in my curriculum vitae,
attached hereto as Exhibit “A.”

Questioned Material
You have provided me with an electronically transmitted copy of the signature
page of a “First Amended Declaration of Trust” dated September 19, 1997, executed at
Atascadero, California. You have indicated this document is under investigation as to
authorship, origin or authenticity. Specifically, you are questioning the validity of the
“Elvin R Meek” and “Elizabeth A. Meek” signatures on the document.

Hereinafter, the questioned “Elvin R. Meek” signatures are referred to as Q-ERM-

1 and Q-ERM-2 and the questioned “Elizabeth A. Meek” signature is referred to as Q-
EAM. A copy of the signature page of the questioned “First Amended Declaration of
Trust” is attached hereto as Exhibit “B.”

For comparison purposes, you have provided various documents known to have
been signed by Elvin R. Meek. These comparison standards (exemplars) are described
more fully below and are hereinafter referred to as K-ERM-1 through K-ERM-12.

You have requested a comparison of the questioned signatures referred to as Q-
ERM-1, Q-ERM-2 and Q-EAM with the exemplary signatures produced by Elvin R.
Meek (K-ERM-1 through K-ERM-12) and the exemplary signatures produced by

Elizabeth A. Meek (K-EAM-1 through K-EAM-11). You requested that I determine
whether the signatures in question were authored by the same persons whose signatures
appear on the exemplary material (Elvin R. Meek and Elizabeth A. Meek).

Method of Examination
1. It was first determined that the questioned material is adequate and of sufficient
quality to be acceptable for the examination process.

2. It was determined that the exemplary signatures are sufficient, adequate and
acceptable for comparison purposes.

3. The questioned signatures were enlarged to approximately 200% for ease of

examination and comparison.

4. For ease of examination, the comparison signatures were also enlarged to

approximately 200%.

5. Individual features of the questioned signatures were compared, both on-screen

and on printouts, to the signatures known to have been written by Elvin R. Meek and
Elizabeth A. Meek, and any differences and similarities were noted.

Findings From Examination

After careful detailed study I have formed the following opinions regarding the
material in question. These opinions are expressed without bias or liability in so far as
legal action is concerned.

Opinion: The exemplary signatures known to have been written by Elvin R. Meek
(K-ERM-1 through K-ERM-12) are not in agreement with the questioned “Elvin R.
Meek” signatures (Q-ERM-1 and Q-ERM-2) on the September 19, 1997 First Amended
Declaration of Trust. There are numerous significant differences between the questioned
and known signatures, including but not limited to: individual letter formations, letter
proportions, letter combinations, arrangement, and pictorial appearance. The
dissimilarities noted are too numerous to be attributed to chance or accident and are
overwhelmingly convincing that the questioned “Elvin R. Meek” signatures and the
known Elvin R. Meek signatures were not produced by the same person. Further, the few
similarities noted are insignificant when compared to the numerous differences. I have
therefore determined that Elvin R. Meek did not affix his signature to the September 19,
1997 First Amended Declaration of Trust.

Charts demonstrating many of the differences between the questioned “Elvin R.

Meek” signatures and those known to have been written by Elvin R. Meek are attached
hereto as Exhibit “E.”

Opinion: The exemplary signatures known to have been written by Elizabeth A.

Meek (K-EAM-1 through K-EAM-11) are not in agreement with the questioned
“Elizabeth A. Meek” signature (Q-EAM) on the September 19, 1997 First Amended

few similarities noted are insignificant when compared to the numerous differences. I
have therefore determined that Elizabeth A. Meek did not affix her signature to the
September 19, 1997 First Amended Declaration of Trust.

Meek” signatures and those known to have been written by Elizabeth A. Meek are
attached hereto as Exhibit “F.”
