Where Krokodil came from

Krokodil came from Russia and has been around for about fifty years now. Its used to be used as a form morphine to help with pain but didnt have as long lasting results as morphine so they stopped using. After many centuries people heard of the pain killing ability of desomorphine and added more chemicals making krokodil.

Krokodil effects the brain much like heroin but much more powerful. It gives you a sense of euphoria. The drug also damages your brain cells making it hard to speak and deteriorates your motor skills

History of krokodil

1,000,000 people in Russia have used tried or are on krocodil. Russia has a severe problem with heroin addiction, but when a heroin addict can no longer afford that drug, he can make up krokodil which has a stronger kick and costs about a tenth the price. Between 2009 and 2011, the amount of krokodil seized by law enforcement increased 23-fold. In just the first three months of 2011, 65 million doses were seized At one meeting of drug enforcement officials, two regional governors reported that krokodil accounts for about half of all addictions and drug-related deaths in Moscow

How it got its name of krokodil

Desomorphine got the name of krokodil because of the green and leathery effect it has on your skin around the injection sight. Also its the Russian word for crocodile. Another name people are calling it is the zombie drug, it deteriorates the skin and starts to rot which comes with a nauseating odor.

Treatment

The widely known therapy for opiate is currently ORT, working by gradually replace the opiate. It needs to note that methadone therapy can be illegal in some countries, though. Another bad thing for users trying to stop using krokodil is that a lot of countries dont help them go through withdrawal and just let it run its course, another bad thing for these users is that its most commonly found in Russia and they are one of the countries.

The cost of krokodil


The cost of krokodil is only about $8. This is why most heroin junkies that cant afford it anymore turn to krokodil. Its much cheaper and easier to make than heroin.

After math of Krokodil

Many users that are addicted to krokodil cant live without it and never quit. It becomes more like a lifestyle and a necessity. Some users are even known to commit suicide because they want to quit but when they try they cant take the withdrawal so just end up killing themselves.

Making its way to the U.S

Several cases have been found in Utah, Arizona and Chicago. Crocodile drug addicts. When people from the U.S visit Russia some try the drug and bring it back to the U.S and it is very easy and cheap to make so it has began to spread throughout the united states

In severs cases of krokodil addiction the user may have to be amputated and get skin grafts because of the infection and skin deterioration. Has a very strong addictive quality and is almost impossible to cure.
