APPLICATION
Antimicrobial finishes are topical technical finishes and their resultant efficacy and durability on textiles are dependant on a number of factors including the processing route, processing chemicals, substrate, and other finishing auxiliaries present on the fabric. Therefore, pre-trials are essential. The recipes given in this publication are advisory.

GENERAL PROCEDURE GUIDELINES

Recommended that the drying and heat setting temperatures for both pad and exhaust application be measured. The air temperature may be set to higher values depending on the dryer speed and type/weight of fabric. It is recommended that on-fabric temperature be measured to assure that the fabric does not exceed 150C (302F). Recommended use levels will vary depending on application, fiber content, application methods and conditions, other finish additives, and desired performance. Before using any liquid product, verify that it is adequately stirred and mixed with no separation or non-homogeneity. If you have concerns regarding the additive appearance, DO NOT USE, but consult with your Microban Technical Representative.

SUITABILITY
Please consult with your Microban technical support or salesperson to determine suitability of This product for your particular application. In general, Microban 9200-200 is suitable for use on:

Exhaust application on synthetics Pad application on cotton or cotton rich blends NOT recommended for padding onto synthetic fabrics NOT recommended for exhaustion onto cotton and cotton rich blends

Drying: Do not exceed on fabric temperature of 150C (320F)

PAD APPLICATION

Cotton and Poly/Cotton Blends

Pad application with a binder, either Microban R10800-0, R10850-0, or R51000-0, to provide Wash durability is necessary. Application levels: 5.0 to 20.0g/l Microban 9200-200 Binder: Or Or 10.0 40.0 g/l Microban R10800-0 5.0 20.0 g/l Microban R10850-0 50.0 150.0 g/l Microban R51000-0

Recommended amounts are based upon 100% wet pickup. Determine wet pickup of the fabric in order to adjust addition rate of Microban 9200-200 and binder to the bath. Stepwise mix the Microban 9200-200 with water and binder. Add other chemistries such as softeners as needed. Mix solution until homogenous before use. Adjust to pH range 5.0 7.0. It is recommended to dry and cure in one stenter pass if possible.
