SEEDS OF LOVE IM

April 2014 SHARING HOPE UNLOCKING FUTURES CHANGING LIVE

We nd the love we are looking for in the love we give.

Matthew Barnett
Another school year has begun here in Honduras. This means new faces, new little ones to get to know and also hearing the reports of good progress of those weve helped. One report is that of Milagros. I shared about her in our last newsletter. She was born with spina bifida and she was named Milagros which means miracles because of the healings and miracles that God worked in her after her birth. Her teacher and I have been working with her this past year as she has been delayed in development, especially in her fine motor skills and handwriting. Her mother decided to send her on to first grade and we were very concerned that she did not seem ready. We then began to receive reports from her new teacher that she was the best in the class and had excellent penmanship. She still attends our Saturday Group which is for children with special needs. At the last meeting she came in, backpack in hand and proudly handed us her notebooks.

We were amazed. Her penmanship was excellent! She is performing at the top of her class. Only with God! Another report that is dear to my heart is about a little boy Cesar. Cesar is 7 but is very small, about the size of a 4 year old. He has overcome several obstacles, a very serious case of scabies that lasted for 1 1/2 years where he lost all of his hair and then 2-3 years of malnutrition.

Urgent Need I currently need new tires for my truck. This is my main tool to go into the villages to reach the children. After two at tires I have learned that I need $950 to again travel safely. If you can help with this need, please contact Delores Garing at 502-599-4524.

Preaching the Word with Rachel Rapha, missionary from Singapore. What a privilege and a joy to share the truth from Gods Word and to work with precious people.

Our Saturday Group in the village of Porvenir is my favorite. Children with special needs and their parents come for special instruction and to learn how to parent with the Word of God.

Rosa, a kinder teacher, is sharing the book, If You Take a Mouse to School. To see the expressions on the childrens and teachers faces brings me much joy. They loved it!

But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Matt 19:26
Cesars mother has been a drug addict and has AIDS and is now very sick. When I rst met Cesar he was listless, very withdrawn and would not participate in any activities. I was told he had always been like that. He would ght you when you tried to help him. We had a breakthrough one day when I gave him a stencil to use to write letters. He liked that and it opened the door. A month ago I was standing in the classroom. Cesar suddenly burst through the doorway, raced up to me, hugging my legs while yelling, Hola Pamela! Hola Pamela! I was amazed. I had never heard him speak before. I was also in tears. God is so good. Now, Cesar is learning, creating and participating. Please pray for Cesar. His mother is quite ill. He was left to stay alone in his home recently while his mother was in the hospital and he started a re to copy something he had seen on TV. He burnt the interior of his small cement block house and all their belongings. But praise God for His protection! Cesar is ne and thriving! Also in the picture on the right with Milagros is Maria. Maria has been left on her own since she was a baby as her mother

Cesar has overcome much difculty in his life and is a different child than when I met him last year. He is now learning and very interactive with others.

Milagros on the right is now thriving in 1st grade and a new student, Maria, is discovering the joy of having books read to her.Todays favorite is a story about a very dirty dog.

leaves each day to work long days. So Maria has been in the streets of the village. She misses many days of school. Here she is enjoying having a book read to her and she giggled the whole way through. This is probably one of the rst if not the rst time she has experienced being read to. These are just some of the kids that you are helping. Arent we blessed with such a privilege to be Gods hands to them. Thank you for prayers and nancial support.
