Martin Luther King Jr and the Freedom of African Americans

The most fascinating thing about United States of America is its diversity. It amazes me how many different religious groups and people of different backgrounds, colors, and political views live peacefully among each other and this beautiful society grows rapidly every year. With that being said it makes me think that one of the most influential events that we have witnessed in American history is the freedom of African Americans. The people of color have always been discriminated against and have been hated for so many years by white Americans. Our land has not always been this open minded and free and especially for African Americans it has always been dark times and torture in the past. This freedom could have never been achieved without the existence of a very wise and influential man by the name of Martin Luther King Jr whose name will always remain in our hearts. I find him the most important civil rights activist in the history of America. Slavery in our nation started when the first African slaves were brought to the North American colony by the name of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619, to help in the production of crops such as tobacco. Slavery was practiced throughout the colonies in the 17th and 18th centuries, and African-American slaves helped build the economic foundations of the new nation. African people used to be owned by White people and they could not live for themselves and literally had no rights. African Americans suffered for so many years and they lived heart breaking lives until Civil rights movements and Black freedom movements came along. They did not possess full citizenship rights; they could not attend schools, have government jobs and join the military. They were completely segregated in society even in the bus stations and water fountains and restaurants until Martin Luther King Jr change everyones lives by fighting for freedom of slaves.

Martin Luther King Jr and the Freedom of African Americans

Martin Luther King Jr was an African American man born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, and he was a social activist who truly played a key role in the civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. Mr. King was a highly educated and wise man whose hard work for fighting against racial abuse can never be forgotten. Martin Luther King Jr gave one of the most influential speeches in the history of mankind. His famous speech I have a dream touched everyones heart and still to this day it remains as the most emotional and influential speech in our history. He changed the life of so many people and the freedom we see today could not have existed without the existence of this individual. Finally, in my opinion Martin Luther King Jr was not only a humans rights activist who gained the freedom of African Americans, but also a brave body that humans may never witness again. During those dark times of racial segregations and hatred he stood up for African Americans and showed the whole world that fighting for freedom is critical no matter what the price. His speech and persuasion and passion along with his emotional power managed to lead America towards peace.
