Other Regions

The Barrens:
The Barrens are vast tracts of rolling grasslands east of the Thentis Mountains. There are no large bodies of water and rainfall is reduced. The grass can grow to heights of several feet. In the winter there can be terrible blizzards and in the summer, extreme heat and droughts. There may also be sudden storms, tornadoes, flash floods, and hail storms. The Barrens are the home of the Red avages, similar to the !ative "mericans of !orth "merica. !o white man has ever #enetrated to the eastern edge of the Barrens. The Red avage culture is nomadic, based on the $aiila. There are a few tribes that have not mastered the $ailla and some tribes that use tarns. They de#end on the $ailiau$ for their lives, for food, clothing, shelter, tools and wea#ons. "lmost all tribes hate whites.

%&uatorial Rainforests:
There are 'ungles on the e&uator near the city of chendi. There are many villages in the 'ungles and most of their inhabitants do not s#ea$ (orean. They s#ea$ a number of different inland dialects. )ishing is a ma'or source of livelihood for many. Bila *uruma is a blac$ +bar who has united the six ubarates of the southern shore of ,a$e +shindi. The +$ungu villages lay to the northeast on the coast. It is a country of coastal villages s#ea$ing the same or similar dialects. The central village is !yundo. Talunas, #ygmies and cannibals also inhabit the 'ungles. The rainforest is also the home of a myriad of wildlife.

-lains of Turia:

The -lains are also called the ,and of the .agon -eo#les. The .agon -eo#les claim the southern #rairies from Thassa and the Mountains of Ta/Thassa to the southern foothills of the 0oltai Range. To the north, they claim lands to the rush grown ban$s of the 1artius River. The .agon -eo#les consist of four se#arate tribes: the -aravaci, 2ataii, 2assars, and the Tuchu$s. The -eo#les are #rimarily herders of bos$, living off their meat and mil$. They do not grow any food and will eat nothing of the earth. They are very #roud and regard city dwellers as vermin in holes. -olar 1a#: The northern #olar region is the home of the Red *unters, a #eo#le similar to the %s$imos of %arth. The red hunters live as nomads, de#ending on the migration of certain animals including the tabu$ and four varieties of sea sleen. ,ittle is $nown of them. The #olar seas are frozen half the year. Icebergs, also called ice mountains, are a constant threat. The red hunters are generally $ind, #eaceable fol$. They call themselves Innuit which means 3the -eo#le.3 They live in scattered, isolated communities and war is largely un$nown. The #olar north is very dry. ,ess snow falls there than in lower latitudes. The snow that does fall is less li$ely to melt. Most of the land is tundra, a cool, generally level or slightly wavy, treeless #lain. In the summer, the tundra is soft and s#ongy due to mosses, shrubs and lichen. In the winter, it is desolate and barren. .hite #elted 2ur, called ice beasts by the red hunters, also live in the #olar region.

Tahari:
,ocated southeast of "r, below the eastern foothills of the 0oltai, and to the south is the Tahari. This is a desert area also $nown as the .astes, or the %m#tiness. It is sha#ed li$e a gigantic, lengthy tra#ezoid with eastward leaning sides. "t its northwest corner is Tor. The area east of Tor is hundreds of #asangs in de#th, maybe thousands. It is generally roc$y and hilly, save in the dune country. It is almost constantly windblown by a hot wind and waterless. There are oases fed from underground rivers flowing southeast from the 0oltai range. The water eru#ts in oases s#rings or is reached by dee# well, down to two hundred feet. The day tem#eratures in the shade are 456 degrees. The oasis communities number from a hundred to thousands of #eo#le and are often hundreds of #asangs a#art from each other. They de#end on caravans for their needs.

Torvaldsland:

This area is commonly ta$en to start with the thinning of the great forest trees northward. It is northwest u# the coast from the 0os$ delta. The $erry of %inar, by the Rune/ tone of the Torvaldsmar$, mar$s the boundary of the Torvaldsland and the south. The tream of Torvald, a current, moves eastward to the coast and then north. It is li$e a broad river in the sea, #asangs

wide. The tem#erature is warmer than the surrounding water and hel#s warm Torvaldsland. The #eo#le couldn7t live without this stream. Torvaldsland is a cruel, harsh, and roc$y land. "rable soil is thin and found in #atches. (ood soil is rare and highly #rized. Though not treeless, it is a blea$ land. 2a/la/na and temwood cannot grow there and are highly #rized. The men are inured to the cold, accustomed to war and the labor of the oar. They are raised from boyhood on stee#, isolated farms near the sea. They hold to old gods, li$e 8din and Thor. They are much li$e the 0i$ings of %arth.

There are some location #lace names given but almost no information given about those locations. Many of these locations are mentioned in #assages concerning the #laces where the famous mercenary ca#tain, 9ietrich of Tarnburg, won victories. These locations may be cities, towns or sim#ly geogra#hic regions. They include the following: 1ardonicus, %dgington, (ordon *eights, 2argash, 2eibel *ill, -iedmont, -lains of anchez, Rovere, and Teveh -ass.
