Hearing impairment is an issue that hits close to my heart. My daughter is hearing impaired as is my sister and both of my nieces are deaf. Identifying hearing loss early is key in assisting children who are hearing impaired with a successful journey in school

and beyond. I have researched and found some great websites with helpful information for parents and teachers regarding hearing impairment , as well as assistive technology. While the internet can be full of misleading and erroneous information it can also be a helpful tool for discovering teaching strategies and the newest technologies when credible websites are utilized.

Oxford Journal Journal of Deaf Studies and Deaf Education I found this website while searching for websites with statistical information regarding hearing impairment. I used the CRAAP test to evaluate this website. The article referenced on this website was revised on May 6, 2012. The information given in the article is relevant and pertains to a study conducted about how children feel about

the use of assistive technology. The Journal of Deaf Studies and Deaf Education is a peerreviewed scholarly journal and so it comes on good authority, as well as accuracy. The purpose of the article is to inform as it regards a study and the results of the study.
