~REMINDERS~
-If you see a violation or have a concern, please contact F1 Property Management by phone or email. If it is after hours leave a message. Please do this rather than contact a Board member directly so the issue can be properly handled. This includes construction violations. Owners should not use construction dumpsters for personal use. -Some owners have placed rocks in the easement near the road and this is not in accordance with the CC&Rs and is not on their approved landscape plan. If you have rocks near the road to keep traffic off your lot, please remove them as they are a potential liability. -We have received reports of cats running loose in Taviawk. CC&R 10.8.b states: "Animals . . . . must be either kept within an enclosure or on a leash being held by a person capable of controlling the animal." This includes cats! -Board meetings are generally held every other month (odd months) on the second Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at F1. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to F1 prior to the meeting. If you have an agenda item, it needs to be presented to F1 at least one week prior to the meeting. The next meeting has been moved to accommodate the Board members schedules and will be held Wednesday, April 30th at 2pm. Agendas will be posted to the website prior to the meeting and approved minutes can be obtained by contacting F1 after the meeting.

Landscape Reminders
Spring is blooming and you may be inspired to add some new plan ngs to your landscape. Your HOA board has asked the landscape commi ee to highlight a few important reminders to help you with your plan ngs: 1. Landscaping is divided into 3 zones: courtyard, transi on and natural. There are approved plants for each zone. Any plant not on the list needs prior approval, except in a few courtyard situa ons. You may submit your wri en request to the ACC who will have the landscape commi ee review. 2. In your courtyard area, more exibility is allowed as long as plants are not visible from the street, neighboring lots and/or not above your courtyard wall. You are free to choose any plants that meet those criteria as long as they were not on the banned list. Trees cannot exceed 15 feet in height. Plants visible to others and not on the approved list will require approval by the ACC. 3. Do I need to submit and addi onal landscape plan a er the original plan? Yes and no: --Yes, if plan ngs are in the natural or transi on areas if plants are taller than na ve sage or black bush on your lot. --Yes, if plan ng any trees or unapproved plants --No, if plan ng approved plants in their approved zone that are shorter than na ve sage or black bush 4. Trees: --Can be planted within 20 feet of house or courtyard areas --To maintain view corridors, trees cannot exceed 25 feet in height (15 feet in courtyard areas) --Several trees are no longer allowed in Kayenta. Please check upcoming 2014 guidelines before considering tree addi ons. Most recent tree no longer allowed is the Arizona Cypress as it has been discovered to grow too tall which will require homeowners to begin topping them to maintain compliance. 5. Ligh ng: Low ligh ng is required to help maintain night skies. In addi on to outside lights, please take a walk away from your house at night to see how your interior ligh ng may be impac ng your neighbors. Outsides sconces are not to exceed 25 wa s, 220 lumens, 7CFL or 3.5 wa s LED. White (cool) uorescent ligh ng prohibited. Pathway ligh ng should be 2 wa s or less, amber in color, maximum height 12 inches, staggered at no closer than 10 feet apart, ligh ng should be turned o a er 11pm. Upligh ng is not permi ed. To review the en re guidelines go to www.kayentahoa.com , click on ACC, then click on landscape guidelines. The ACC has an updated landscape guideline to be posted on website soon.
