INT. JAMI AND JAYS APARTMENT - DAY JAMI is on her laptop, curled up on the couch with MR. SNUGGLEBEAR (MSB), the pug. JAY, dressed in his work uniform and holding a shopping bag enters. JAMI You took awhile to get home. Jay holds up his bag. JAY I went shopping for a Halloween costume! Jami puts her laptop on the coffee table. JAMI Cool, we didnt celebrate Halloween in Trinidad. JAY Trinidad doesnt have Halloween? He sits down on the couch. JAMI Some rich people celebrate it. Didnt really catch on anywhere else. JAY So, this is going to be your first Halloween? Jami shrugs. JAMI I dunno. JAY Its a lot of fun! You dress up in a costume and go to a party or give out candy to kids. JAMI Costumes and candy are good and all, I just dont feel like a new tradition. JAY Whatever you want.

He pulls his cell phone out of his pocket and brings up a photo on it. JAY (CONTD) By the way, remember my coworker Craig? JAMI The guy who was rude to me? JAY Yeah, he got fired for that. JAMI Ow, sorry. JAY Eh, he got a new job already. Hes okay. But wait until you see the hottie they got to replace him! He shows her his phone. Her eyes brighten up. JAMI Wow! How are you supposed to get any work done with THAT? JAY I KNOW! (Opening titles) INT. JAMIS OFFICE, BREAK ROOM - DAY Jami and secretary DANI enter the break room. Theres a coffeemaker, a small refrigerator, and a microwave with a printout reading in large type NO POPCORN taped to the front. DANI So, do you like working here? JAMI Yeah, its a little more fun than my previous jobs, but thats a good thing. Suddenly, Dani sniffs the air and smells something bad. Jami sees her and sniffs too. JAMI (CONTD) Whats that smell?

DANI Smells like butter. Jami looks at Dani dramatically. JAMI Smells to me like the putrid smell of LIES AND DECEIT! Dani looks confused. DANI What? Jami opens the microwave and pulls out a bag of burnt microwave popcorn. She dangles it between her thumb and index finger. JAMI Also known as the smell of burnt popcorn. DANI I didn't know lies and deceit smelled buttery. Jami tosses it in the trash can and shuts the microwave. JAMI Who would put popcorn in the microwave when it explicitly says not to do that? BOSS enters and sniffs the air. He looks at the trash can. He looks at Jami and Dani. They cross their arms and look at him. He looks guilty. BOSS Well, theres a first time for everything. FLOYD, a chubby, short new coworker enters. BOSS (CONTD) Like Floyd here, hes starting today. Jami, Dani, Floyd. Floyd shakes Danis hand. DANI Hi! Nice to meet you. Floyd reaches his hand to Jami. She squees.

JAMI OH MY GOD! YOUR FACE! ITS LIKE A MARSHMALLOW! I JUST WANT TO SQUISH IT! She realizes what she just said and realizes that everyones giving her the weirdest look ever. She shakes his hand. JAMI (CONTD) Nice to meet you, Floyd! Welcome! FLOYD Thanks... INT. THE BOOKSTORE - DAY Jay is finishing helping a customer. He waves as they head to the register. ERIC, a strong and very handsome coworker, enters. Jay doesnt notice him. ERIC Hey, Jay. Jay turns. He scratches the back of his neck nervously and looks down at the floor. JAY Oh, hi, Eric. Eric smiles and seems not to notice how nervous he is. ERIC Do we stock comics? Im having trouble finding them. JAY Uh, yeah, they should be with the magazines. Eric looks a little embarrassed. Jay cannot make eye contact. It is adorable. ERIC Oh. Duh. Probably a typical newbie question, right? JAY Yeah. ERIC Nothing at all like my old job. You just hop to it and get to work here.

Jay tries to make eye contact. JAY What was your old job? ERIC I was a lumberjack. Awesome stuff. JAY Oh, that explains the... uh... Eric flexes his arms. ERIC Yeah, a job and a workout all in one! Jay has to contain himself. ERIC (CONTD) How long have you been working here? JAY A few years. ERIC So you know your job in and out. JAY Yeah. ERIC Great, if I have any questions, Ill come to you! He turns and walks away. Jay cant help but look. (Dat ass.) JAY Uh, Eric, you doing anything for Halloween? Eric stops and turns. ERIC No, not really. Jay speaks too quickly. JAY Im having a Halloween party and you can come if you want. Eric smiles and nods.

ERIC Sure, sounds great! Jay digs his foot into the ground. JAY See you there. Eric leaves. Jay sighs and looks skyward. JAY (CONTD) What have I done? INT. DVD STORE - DAY Jay enters the store and heads to a featured section of horror-themed Blu-Ray and DVDs. Hes talking on his cell phone. JAY Hey, Jami? INT. JAMIS OFFICE - DAY Jami is at her desk, on her cell phone. JAMI Jay? INT. DVD STORE - DAY Jay is looking bewildered at the Blu-Rays. As he talks, THOMAS, an employee of the store, a nice-looking, clean cut young man, notices him and begins to approach him. JAY I kind of made us have a Halloween party. JAMI (V.O.) What? JAY I had a moment of weakness. JAMI (V.O.) Oh. The new guy? JAY Yep.

JAMI (V.O.) Okay. Well, I guess we can do my first Halloween all properly. Whatever it is you guys do. Candy, costumes, do you sacrifice goats? A beat as Jay takes in what she said. JAY No. That went out long ago. Jami laughs. JAMI (V.O.) Ha! I know enough about Halloween to know that, Jay! I was just kidding. ~~~At this point, we decided we needed to go back to webcomic form. The script would have Thomas helping Jay find movies for the party and getting an invitation to the party. At the party, Jami dresses up MSB as a unicorn with a cute little costume, while she just has a painted paper towel tube attached to her head. She manages to get a better costume. Rush, Travis, Mary Sue and a few other people show up for the party. Jay realizes hes stuck between two crushes: Eric and Travis. He tries hitting on both of them, but is rebuffed. Eric is straight, Travis is actually asexual. Thomas asks Jami about Jay, and is disappointed that the party is actually to try to hook up with two other guys. Jay totally misses it, but Thomas is gay and is interested in Jay. Jami decides she needs to let Jay figure out for himself. Hope youll follow the new version of Jami and Jay coming... someday...
