4. Calling the students attention to the Smart Board the teacher will present the students with a question; Should students have responsibilities in the classroom? 5. A class discussion will take place and the class will hear different opinions and feelings about the topic presented. The students responses to the question will be written on the Smart Board. 6. Teacher will help the class see both sides of the issue. 7. Students will then take out their personal writing journals and write 3 to 5 sentences telling me what side they picked and why. Do they think students should have responsibilities in the classrooms or not? G. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? I will use the students writing journals to measure for understanding. Students will have to form sentences on their own explaining their rights in the classroom. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will know if the students understand the concepts in the lesson by paying attention during whole group discussion and by reading what they wrote in the writing journals. H. Closure: For the closure of this lesson there will be a quick class discussion on why we need to listen and respect others. Every person has a right to say what they feel and we need to provide support and understanding for all.

I.

Reflection: 1.Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? The easiest part of the lesson for me to teach will be having the students understand the importance of not making fun or being disrespectful to their peers. The students know classroom and school rules and know what is expected of them. The students also know the consequences if they cannot behave or be respectful to one another. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging part of this lesson will be having the students come up with different perspectives and ideas on why students should or should not have responsibilities in the classroom. There will be guided questions provided so the teacher can help with class discussion. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I can extend this lesson by having the student come up in front of the class and share what they wrote about in their journals. The students will know to listen and be

respectful when their peers are sharing. This could be used as a speaking and listening grade for the students, 4. What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For students who do not grasp the concept I can re-teach the lesson while the other students are quietly working in their writing journals. I will give the students additional time to complete their writing journals. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? As of right now I dont think I need to change any part of the lesson. Once I actually teach it to the students I may need to alter or add additional information. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The assessment part was most difficult for me. I wanted to make sure that it was challenging but not overwhelming for the children.
