BUILDING IMPROVEMENT LINE

ISOLCOMER
BUILDING IMPROVEMENT SYSTEMS
PHASE 1 FOR BUILDING OF MAX. 2/3 FLOORS WALLS MADE UP OF HOMOGENEOUS MATERIALS (HAVING THE SAME SHAPE AND OF THE SAME TYPE), BRICKS, TUFF BLOCKS, ETC.

CUTTING
The first phase of the process is cutting the wall subject to rising moisture with special machines that are produced only by COMER. Any cutting is performed at a few centimetres of distance from the wall. These machines are equipped with

"anti-dust" systems and with a device the makes it possible to adjust cutting both in height and in tilting and depth, so that they can carry out cutting also at very high thickness levels and "nonthrough" cutting, if you need to safeguard already existing coatings on one side of the wall. Cutting is necessary on supporting walls (perimeter and inner rooms) that are built directly on the foundations, because moisture rises exactly from these due to the capillarity phenomenon. The cutting operation is quite fast and, once it has been carried out, the wall is ready for the second phase of the work.

CLEANING / WASHING
During this phase, the cutting section is cleaned and wash to ease the insertion of the ISOLCOMER sheath and the subsequent filling with cement mortar. PHASE 2 into the wall cut a sheet of the ISOLCOMER sheath. It has the function to prevent the moisture from rising, thus creating a resisting barrier against rising moisture.

INSERTION OF THE ISOLCOMER SHEATH

It is the most important phase of the process and it is carried out by inserting

Cut of a wall by means of the suitable wall-cutting machine EDIL T.

PHASE 3

WEDGING
At this point, it is important to insert by pressure the anchoring wedges made in plastic material (COMER patent). These wedges show holes with an insertion channel for mortar and have the triple function to compress it, insert definitively the insulating sheet into the cut and give temporary stability to the wall before the complete drying. The wedge insertion takes place by pressure, using the intended wedge driver.

The mortar in excess will be ejected automatically when inserting the insulating material.

PHASE 4

FILLING WITH ADDITIVE-TREATED CEMENT MORTAR

The sheet of insulating material is loaded with pre-mixed anti-shrinking cement mortar in order to complete fill the cut. Mortar is inserted from both sides of the insulating material (above and below). The mortar can be inserted into the cut with an injection system. The mortar is forced by injection into the cut by using a pneumatic COMER pump.

Insertion in the cut of the additive-treated cement mortar.

PHASE 5

FINAL SEALING AND PLASTER RESTORATION

The plaster of the walls above the cut is restore by using our ready additivetreated aeroplastic COMER 200 mortars that let the wall transpire thanks to an osmotic process.

CLEANING / WASHING TESTED

During this phase, the cutting section is cleaned and wash to ease the insertion of the ISOLCOMER sheath and the subsequent filling with cement mortar. PHASE 2

Many shear tests with seismic simulation have been carried out after the execution of our system.

FILLING WITH ADDITIVE-TREATED CEMENT MORTAR

Mortar is inserted into all the cutting section. The mortar can be inserted into the cut with an injection system. The mortar is forced by injection into the cut by using a pneumatic COMER pump. The mortar in excess will be ejected automatically when inserting the insulating material.

PHASE 3

INSERTION OF THE IGROSTOP PLATE

It is the most important phase of the process and it is carried out by inserting into the wall cut the first IGROSTOP stripe and by adding the others in sequence through the suitable hinges. It has the double function to prevent the moisture from rising, thus creating

a resisting barrier against rising moisture and to create a barrage of walls, by making the structure safer in case of earthquake.

PHASE 4

PHASE 5

WEDGING
This phase is not compulsory with IGROSTOP, because this system is already a locking one, but we recommend its use for the critical points of the structure.

FINAL SEALING AND PLASTER RESTORATION

The plaster of the walls above the cut is restore by using our ready additivetreated aeroplastic COMER 200 mortars that let the wall transpire thanks to an osmotic process.

SOME EXAMPLES

In the corners and intersections where the section bar direction changes, a special joint is applied.

WEDGES
FOR ANCHORING
BIG WEDGE They are produced with differentiated thickness by using thermal hardening resins. They have a high resistance to traction, shocks, pressure and compression. They have been specifically tested to guarantee production standards that are suitable for wedging needs. Suitable holes and grooves make it possible to obtain a mortar better cohesion and the big variety of the produced sizes makes it possible to use them in different types of walls. For the chain 404 use wedges with thickness 6.5 - 7.5 - 8.5 mm. For the chain 1/2" use wedges with thickness 8.5 - 10 - 11 mm. For the chain 20 mm use wedges with thickness 10 - 11 - 12 - 13 mm.
