My name is ( ) and I am calling to demand the resignations of Education Commissioner John King & Regents Chancellor
Merryl Tisch and to make the NYS Standardized Tests public. Tens of thousands of concerned citizens disagree with the
current NYS education reforms. They are not listening to parents or educators on the need to revamp the Common Core
standards, lessen the focus on testing, and to stop thrusting one-size-fits-all statewide curriculum on local schools. And
despite repeated issues with its testing vendor, NYSED has failed to take meaningful action, ignoring criticism from all
corners of the state.
*New Yorkers deserve COMPETENT leaders who listen to and engage their constituents
*New Yorkers deserve COMPETENT leaders who can be responsive to the concerns and dissenting opinions of
educated involved New York parents.
*John King & Merryl Tisch have let abusive testing and potential data sharing practices dominate the implementation of
the Common Core Learning Standards.
*John King & Merry Tisch have refused to make the NYS Standardized Tests Public.
*John King & Merryl Tisch run away from listening to the public.
*John King calls concerned parents special interest groups." Merryl Tisch dismisses her Board of Regent
colleagues.
*John King is not competent to be the NYS Commissioner of Education and Merryl Tischs leadership ability as Chancellor
has come into serious question.
