Praise Conference Streaming
You are invited to watch the special Northern California praise conference which is being held this Sabbath at the Sacramento Church. The link for the live feed of the service is:
There will be a message presented by David Zic on the reason for thankfulness and how the Sanctuary Message gives us the greatest assurance of salvation. Because of the nature of the praise conference, most of the program at 9:30am, 11:00am and 2:00pm (Pacific Standard Time) is composed of music. You are welcome to watch, but we wish to mention that we are not sure how the sound quality of the musical presentations will come through. If you know of anyone in the greater Sacramento area, please invite them to come to the Sacramento Church and experience the praise conference in person.
Prayers for Romania and Ukraine
The brethren in Romania and Ukraine need our special prayers at this time. Increasing tension in eastern Europe has led to the national governments of these former communist countries from behind the 1 NORCAL REFORMER Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement Northern California Conference Upcoming Events May 3, 2014 Praise Conference in Sacramento

28 NorCal Reformer Friday, May 2, 2014 iron curtain to reintroduce military service. As a historical conscientious objection church the SDARM is extremely worried over these developments. Romania recently approved and published official documents requiring Romanian men aged 20 to 35 to fill out and hand over to military recruitment commissions in case of a war. The documents were published in the Official Gazette. In 2006 military training the government removed mandatory military service in Romania, instead opting for a volunteer military. Until 2006, Romania had mandatory military service for all men aged 18, or older, in case they entered university immediately after highschool. Now, due to the increasing tensions in the region the government is stating that in case of a war or a state of siege, military service becomes mandatory again for all Romanian men 20 to 35. The most recent census shows that Romania has 2.1 million men aged 20 to 35. Romania has the fourth highest number of SDARM members of any country. The recent publication of these documents in Romania came as tensions in neighboring Ukraine have been mounting. In addition, observers are concerned the Romania may get involved in the Russian backed breakaway part of neighboring northern Moldova, which calls itself Transnistria. Ukraine decided to re-introduce mandatory military service this week, as a reaction to the degrading situation in the Eastern part of the country, which is under siege by the pro-Russia militia. There was a time when the young men in these countries suffered greatly for their Christian convictions, and it appears that this time is coming again. With a large Romanian and Slavic membership in the NCC, this part of the world is special to us and we will be keeping it in our special prayers. General Conference Session 2015
The latest report from the General Conference Executive Committee is that the plans for holding the 2015 GC Delegation Session in Roanoke are continuing as planned. There had been some discussion that the meetings would be moved to Romania or Brazil, but these reports are not correct.
