Seminar Overview:
Contractors, subcontractors, and owners live and die by their contracts. Not knowing what constitutes your contract; not knowing
whether it is legal or unenforceable; not knowing that you can be liable for damages, even without a contract; are all paths to ruination.
This program will be a practical, plain language presentation on how to protect yourself; how to minimize the risk of litigation; how
to properly use your attorney and insurance agent; and how to properly preserve and resolve your claims. All entities involved in the
construction process should attend to learn about a number of topics, including:

PRESENTERS:

Michael S. Simon of Flaster/Greenberg is a nationally recognized construction attorney who limits his practice to construction law, litigation, and
all phases of alternative dispute resolution procedures. A Fellow in both the American College of Construction Lawyers and American Institute of
Constructors, he represents a client base of businesses involved in the construction industry, including specialty manufacturers and suppliers,
subcontractors, prime and general contractors, design professionals, and private and public owners. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and
New York.
Matthew S. Burns of Flaster/Greenberg is a member of the law firm’s Construction and Litigation Practice Groups. He handles matters involving
construction disputes, including breach of construction contract claims against both public and private entities; filing and enforcing construction
liens on behalf of general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers; and asserting claims for damages arising from delays and inefficiencies. He
has experience in both trial and appellate forums and is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Michael Waintraub of Rue Insurance specializes in the areas of construction insurance and risk management. He is a licensed Property and Ca-
sualty Insurance Agent in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and has earned his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) and Accredited Advisor
in Insurance (AAI) designations. Michael is the current Safety Chairman of the Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association and an administrator for
the Associated Site Improvement Contractors Insurance Program.
