Communications Executive (Ref: MKM2974)


Salary: 21,524 per annum
Location: Manchester City Centre
Permanent

Marketing Manchester are currently recruiting a Communications Executive to work within the Communications Team, to assist
in the effective running of the communication function.

The duties of the job include:

Producing creative and imaginative material for appropriate media including press releases and promotional copy for
use in a variety of formats.
Producing current, creative and factual editorial to be placed across a spectrum of communication platforms, including
B2B and Consumer.
To facilitate and deliver media visits within identified budgets.
To maintain good relationships with key stakeholder organisations including, Manchester Airport, Manchester City
Council, MIDAS, New Economy, Manchester Solutions, AGMA, the LEP and the Manchester China Forum.
To recognise and respond appropriately to material of a confidential nature.
To respond to all media enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
To monitor and evaluate all communications activity on a regular and frequent basis.
To draft corporate statements in response to specific media enquiries.
To work in conjunction with the Communications Assistant to maintain and develop databases.
To provide communications support across the Manchester Family and their activity and participate in on territory
activity where necessary.
Undertake training as appropriate to further develop the role of Communications Executive as appropriate.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

Experience of the principles of communications and public relations.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent writing skills, including the ability to apply these to a wide variety of content matter across B2B and B2C
audiences.
A good understanding of media relations.
Excellent organisational skills needed to deliver media visits.
Experience of managing budgets.
Experience of producing digital communications.
Good IT skills.
The ability to prioritise work and meet agreed deadlines.
Willingness to work outside of office hours, including weekends, for which time in lieu will be given.
Experience of working with both the public and private sector.
Experience of partnership working.
A good working knowledge of a variety of software packages, including Photoshop and PowerPoint.
