We find among many other things that witchcraft is not of God.

Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, sedition's, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings,
and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time
past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Regard
not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by
them: I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:31 1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as
the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. 1 Timothy
4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall
depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. The
numerous enticements of the fallen spirits are more visible today than ever
before, because they know their end is very near. Recall that Jude foretold they
would be in “chains under darkness until the judgment of the great day,” our day.
Now Jesus himself said this of our times: “And as it was in the days of Noe so
shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man at the time of his return.” (Luke
17:26-30) As we learned previously, during the days of Noah, the earth was “filled
with violence through them (the fallen angels).” (Genesis 6:13) The demons have
never let up their unrelenting desire to recreate the society that existed before
the flood. We all see what is happening today, a rampant immorality of every
conceivable kind. This is influenced directly by demon spirits or the spirits of
the air. Another sign of their activity is that there are aliens being reported as
never before. These are real entities with bad intentions. Satan himself can
transform into an angel of light or in many forms. Satan and his servants will do
seemingly good works or promote seemingly good teachings at times to further their
agenda of confusing people regarding God’s true plan of salvation and his standard
of righteousness. People who have used drugs or the occult have often reported
conversations with intelligent but brutally cold and evil beings. That is why God
warned us not to be deceived by them via intercession or conversations with them.
Satan has come to deceive the whole world and imitate but never quite duplicate
the works or acts of God. Let us look at his tools. One of them is witchcraft and
it has many forms. The entertainment industry, driven by profits, has played into
the hands of demonic influence as they capitalize on people’s curiosities and
fascinations. In every sector, evil parades itself as entertainment, with blatant
acts of rebellion, immorality and the occult. Hollywood has made scores of
extremely wicked movies: The Exorcist, Damian, End of Days, Poltergeist, The Omen,
etc. Every evil imaginable can be portrayed realistically through computer
animation. As a result, people sit spell-bound in front of movie, TV and video
game screens unaware of the real dangers and power behind the images. Indeed,
those watching have become desensitized to the wickedness, receiving an imprint of
evil to linger in their memories. Hollywood is making witchcraft attractive to
young and old. Some of their popular TV shows and movies include:
Sabrina the Teenage Witch (TV series)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV series)
Charmed (TV series)
The Craft (movie)
The Witches of Eastwick (movie)
Practical Magic (movie)
Harry Potter (many movies)
Significantly, national media is also discussing the explosive growth of Wicca
Witchcraft among teenagers. Countless books are promoting Wicca. One can Google it
up to see the many books or look at Walmart.com to see over 100 titles. Spirit
mediums or channelers have often become unintentional accomplices of the fallen
angels. By claiming to communicate with the dead, they make evil appear comforting
to those who mourn. The Scriptures state that the dead cannot communicate (With
only one notable exception allowed by God, that is Samuel, to foretell the doom of
Saul and his sons.) and they are unconscious or unable too contact this side in
death, (Ecclesiastes 9:10) therefore a medium or channelers must be communicating
with demons disguised as departed loved ones. Satan is the father of all lies.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. (1 John 2:15-17 the lusts of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of
life came from Satanic influence upon mankind). He was a murderer from the
beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he
speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Only a few parents realize the occult teachings in the Harry Potter series. The
experts on the subject say that these books are from the occult. And these are
experts on the occult are Marcia Montenegro of Christian Answers for the New Age
and Caryl Matrisciana the author of Gods of the New Age. And these both have
personal experience in the occult before their repenting of it. They see Mr.
Potter as a means to divert attention from Christ Jesus unto vanity and delusion.
Now that Satan has a program out there is without doubt to the rational among us.
For some individuals, Satan’s program is appealing. First, they are offered
knowledge (gnosis). They desire to have a deeper knowledge of reality and easily
become seduced into what is known as the Perennial Wisdom or Secret Knowledge.
Second, they are offered power to manipulate and control their surroundings,
including others. Third, they are offered supernatural answers to meet their
personal desires. However, the appealing nature of Satan’s program ultimately
becomes a spiritual nightmare that seemingly cannot be escaped. Genesis 3:1-5
gives us an example of Lucifer’s deception. Eve is told she “will be like God.” He
entices Eve to commit the same sin he committed in Isaiah 14:14. And Eve reaps the
bread of deceit (with a mouth filled with gravel) instead of the growth and power
promised to her. Luke 4:1-13 details the temptation of Jesus regarding the
Kingdom. Jesus came to win the world but not on Lucifer’s terms. Jesus would never
bow down to and worship Lucifer. Revelation 13:2 indicates that the Kingdom which
Jesus refused, the Antichrist will accept. Jesus refused to worship Satan, but
Satan, through the Antichrist, will be worshipped (Rev. 13:4). According to 2
Thessalonians 2:3-4 Satan will have, for a brief moment, what he has desired for a
millennium. He has desired free reign over all creation and to be worshiped as the
god of this world. But it will be temporary, and he will ultimately be destroyed
along with his demonic host. The one who becomes seduced and eventually deceived
by Lucifer will undergo a transformation in his personal life that might prompt a
desire to end one’s life. An individual who has come under Lucifer’s deception may
exhibit one or all of these following symptoms. A state of unwarranted guilt,
persecution, giving up one’s best, depression, ect. The Christian has the truth of
the word to wield in the face of adversity. The Adversary can be defeated. Very
few people are indwelt by Satan. The same goes of God. Only a handful of reported
Christians actually are his. As he died for all and redeemed us by his blood and
all must apply his name of Yeshua or Jesus in all areas, to include baptism in
order to be his. See Hebrews 9:15-22, John 1:29, Colossians 3:17, Acts 22:16, and
Galatians 3:27 among many. Satan and Christ cannot dwell together in the same
area, house, or body. If you are of God then Satan will leave you, as he is
powerless against the Holy Spirit. Which is none other but the spirit of God
himself. It is not a separate entity as some teach. Rather every Christian is
spirit filled or he is none of his. Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in
the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not
the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Now how do we gain the spirit of Christ?
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth
not shall be damned. By faith and baptism in his name. Romans 6:3-5 Know ye not,
that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his
death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ
was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of
his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. And finally this
warning from God to his people. Yes, his people (Israel) were to be sanctified and
holy, different in the way that they walked and talked. Often like today, they had
backslid or became like everyone else instead of the peculiar people of God.
Numbers 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord:
and be sure your sin will find you out. God is there with you and your sins will
find you out, that is unless you repent of them daily. Titus 2:11-14 For the grace
of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in
this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of
the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might
redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of
good works. We are to be zealous with good works for the name of Jesus and the
word of God. Deuteronomy 18:10-13 There shall not be found among you any one that
maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination,
or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter
with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things
are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy
God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy
God. Every Christian is but a work in progress this side of eternity. We are to be
of a single heart to seek him out in all things. His grace will cover our
failures, secret sins, or transgressions. God give us all his mercy, truth, and
blessing in our lives.
