UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT

DISTRICT OF MASSACHUSETTS

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
CRIM. NO. 13-10238-DPW

v.

DIAS KADYRBAYEV,
AZAMAT TAZHAYAKOV, and
ROBEL PHILLIPOS

DEFENDANT KADYRBAYEVS MOTION TO BE PERMITTED
TO WEAR CIVILIAN CLOTHES TO COURT FOR MOTIONS

Defendant Kadyrbayev, through undersigned counsel, respectfully moves this Court to
permit him to wear civilian clothes to Court for the Pre-Trial Motions. This case has received
enormous press coverage, including courtroom sketch artists being present for any appearance of
the defendants. With the scheduled trial date of June 30, it would help lessen the potential
prejudice to the defendant to be portrayed in print and on television as wearing normal, street
clothes rather than the typical orange jail jumpsuit. Defendants counsel could bring a set of
appropriate clothes each morning to the United States Marshals Service (USMS) for the
defendant to change into before court.
On todays date I conferred with the government and there is no objection to this motion.
Therefore, it is respectfully requested that the Court order the USMS to allow counsel to
bring defendant Kadyrbayev appropriate civilian clothes each morning of the pre-trial hearings
so that he may be dressed appropriately for Court.
Respectfully submitted,

s/ Robert G. Stahl
