Montebourg: French Businesses are Not Prey

industrial recovery, indicated that he refused to believe the deal is done, that energy branch of the
Alstom Company was to be sold to GE.

According to sources at Le Monde, Montebourg could have pressured the advice of administrative
counsel of Alstom, scheduled to meet Sunday afternoon to study and undoubtedly approve General
Electrics offer, turn up inconclusive. According to France Inter, Francois Rebsamen, the minister of

The energy branch of a French group comprises activities such as turbines for electrical and wind power

Alors qu'il doit participer aux rencontres organises l'Elyse avec les PDG deGeneral Electric, de
Siemens et de Bouygues, lundi 28 avril, le ministre de l'conomie et du redressement productif, Arnaud
Montebourg, a indiqu qu'il entendait refuser le fait accompli d'une vente de la branche nergie du
groupeAlstom GE.
Interrog sur RTL, M. Montebourg a dclar refuser qu'Alstom, en trois jours, dcide de vendre 75 %
d'un fleuron national dans le dos de ses salaris, dans le dos du gouvernement, dans le dos de la plupart
de ses administrateurs et de ses cadres dirigeants .

Le ministre ne s'est pas cach de sa prfrence pour un rapprochement d'Alstom avec l'allemand
Siemens. Pour utiliser des images qui parlent aux Franais : soit on se fait racheter par Boeing soit on
construit Airbus a ainsi expliqu le ministre, qui affirme que Siemens veut crer deux leaders
mondiaux dans les domaines de l'nergie et des transports .
Les entreprises franaises ne sont pas des proies, en revanche nous sommes disponibles pour nouer des
alliances qui nous permettent de nous armer dans la mondialisation. Nous avons multipli ces derniers
jours et ces dernires heures un certain nombre d'initiatives, la premire c'est de refuser le fait accompli.

Selon lui, l'offre de GE pose un problme pour une raison simple, c'est que l'essentiel d'Alstom, 75 % de
l'entreprise, 65 000 salaris dans le monde, vont tre dirigs depuis le Connecticut . Nous avons dit
que cette situation tait inacceptable , a rappel M. Montebourg, n'excluant ni un rachat par l'Etat de
la part de Bouygues dans Alstom (environ 29 % du capital), ni une ventuelle nationalisation temporaire,
toutefois juge prmature .
Selon les informations du Monde, M. Montebourg aurait fait pression pour que le conseil
d'administration d'Alstom, prvu dimanche aprs-midi afin d'tudier et sans doute d'approuver l'offre
de General Electric, ne soit pas conclusif. Sur France Inter, le ministre du travail, Franois Rebsamen, a
dit vouloir que tous les emplois soient sauvegards et que l'indpendance nergtique soit
maintenue, que les centres de dcisions restent en France .
RAPPORT INTERNE

La branche nergie du groupe franais regroupe des activits telles que les turbines pour centrales
lectriques, l'olien et les systmes de transmission de l'lectricit. Elle pse plus de 70 % du chiffre
d'affaires global d'Alstom, soit environ 15 milliards d'euros lors de l'exercice 2012-2013, emploie prs de
la moiti des 18 000 salaris d'Alstom en France et regroupe les activits les plus rentables du groupe en
excluant les renouvelables (aux marges moins leves).
Dans un rapport interne command par les reprsentants du personnel, que se sont procur Les
Echos, le cabinet Secafi Alpha pointe sans concessions les multiples fragilits du groupe franais. Le
groupe Alstom traverse une priode de turbulences commerciales, industrielles et surtout financires. Ni
lui ni ses salaris n'en sortiront indemnes , peut-on lire dans le document. Principal sujet de
proccupation, la situation financire du groupe est particulirement tendue. Il fait face un mur de
dettes qui devient trs coteux , s'alarme le cabinet d'audit.
