Pro-Life Message: Men, Be Silent No More on the abortion issue: In surveys of post-abortive women, they are often asked what would have influenced them to choose life. The #1 factor is having a man support her in that decision. Especially, the father of the baby or her own father. My wife, and millions of women like her have born the burden of abortion all alone for long enough. That is why I will be silent no more. Men, our silence is a critical way that our culture marginalizes the tragedy of abortion as a womens issue. That is one of the core strategies of the abor- tion industry. If they can keep abortion a womens issue. Then they can effectively stifle any real dis- cussion about the issue of abortion. If abortion is a womens issue then those who support abortion can argue that men who affirm the sanctity of the lives of the unborn are infringing on the rights of wom- en. And, thereby, eliminate the right of any life- affirming men to engage with the issue. We must not allow this to happen. Edmund Burke said All that is necessary for the tri- umph of evil is that good men do nothing. Men, the abortion industry wants us to do nothing. To remain silent. Do not allow evil to triumph. It is time for the fathers of aborted children to stand alongside the mothers of aborted children And BE SILENT NO MORE. Priests for life.org Prayer to End Abortion Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life, and for the lives of all my brothers and sisters. I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion, yet I rejoice that you have conquered death by the Resurrection of Your Son. I am ready to do my part in ending abortion. Today I commit myself Never to be silent, Never to be passive, Never to be forgetful of the unborn. I commit my- self to be active in the pro-life movement, and nev- er to stop defending life until all my brothers and sisters are protected, and our nation once again be- comes a nation with liberty and justice, not just for some, but for all, through Christ our Lord. Amen! Please keep in your prayers: Please pray for: Scotty Moore and Family, Carrol Ereaux and family, Chris Petit, Wendy Lamtke, Linda Berg, Doug French, Terry McKeon, Nate Simon, Cissy Adams, Jacob French, Terry Stiles, Kenny Ulrich, Gerry Williams, those from our local area serving in the military, and the Poor Souls in Purgatory. __________________________________________ Care & Share 2014 Did you know you can give monthly through auto- matic withdrawal from your checking account in support of Care and Share? Giving this way makes generosity more affordable and automatic. Hun- dreds of parishioners in our diocese support Care and Share this way, year-round. The monthly gifts received are a reliable, consistent support for all the ministries of our diocese. Thank you to all who give in this very thoughtful way! For information about monthly giving to Care and Share, call the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana at 800- 332-9998, ext. 138. Mass Intentions As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information! Stewardship & Development
May 11, 2014 - 4th Sunday of Easter : " And Pe- ter said to them, 'Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ..." Acts 2:38
The word "repent" means to turn from sin, to change our actions. When it comes to change, do we take responsibility for change or do we think that others have to change instead? Change that is permanent comes from within. We must take con- trol and be disciplined. Remember though that we are not alone; Jesus is there to help lighten the load.
Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC)June 01, 2014 The essential mission of the CCC is to contribute to the process of evangelization by fostering ac- tivities in relation to television, radio, internet, and other media, and through special projects of the Catholic press. An annual collection is taken up in the dioceses, which remit 50% of the funds collected to the national office. From these funds, grants are made by the USCCB Subcom- mittee on the Catholic Communication Cam- paign. The remaining portion of the collection is retained by the diocese for use in local communication projects. Thank you for your donation.

A Prayer for Church Unity Almighty and eternal God, You have promised that there will someday be but one fold and one Shep- herd. Hasten that day, we pray You, in Your most merciful kindness and generosity. Pour the light of Your grace into the minds of our non-Catholic friends so that they may see the truth, and fully realize that the truth is one and undivided. Give them also the strength of will needed to follow in the direction of the light You give them. Let us, their neighbors and friends, not be a hin- drance to their conversion by our bad example. Rather let Your goodness be made clear to them by the virtue of our lives. Then may they finally all be brought to You, the Light that enlightens every man who comes into the world. Amen.
