WHO WE ARE
Citizens for Browards Children, Inc. is a countywide group of community, business,
civic and political organizations and leaders who are working together to support the
reauthorization of the Childrens Services Council of Broward County.
Citizens for Browards Children was created by a group of concerned Broward County
residents who want to ensure the Childrens Services Council is reauthorized by voters in
the 2014 Election.
Membership in Citizens for Browards Children is free and open to anyone who shares our
goal of supporting the reauthorization of the Broward County Childrens Services Council.
ABOUT THE CHILDRENS SERVICES COUNCIL OF BROWARD COUNTY
The Childrens Services Council of Broward County is an independent special district
established by Broward County voters in 2000.
On average, the Childrens Services Council gets less than 2 cents of every dollar paid in
property taxes. Those tax dollars are solely dedicated to providing money for a wide variety
of programs designed to help every child lead a healthy, safe and productive life. These
programs are delivered by over 100 provider agencies throughout the county.
To ensure accountability to the Broward taxpayer, funded programs have clearly defned
goals, outcomes and measures and are regularly monitored for program quality and
performance and administrative accountability.
The Childrens Services Council provides the leadership, advocacy and resources necessary
to enhance children's lives and empower them to become responsible, productive adults
through collaborative planning and funding of a continuum of quality care.
ABOUT THE REAUTHORIZATION
A 2010 state law requires each Childrens Services Council in the State of Florida to go
before voters for reauthorization. Reauthorization by the voters of Broward County will allow
the Childrens Services Council to continue operating as it has since its creation by voters
over 13 years ago.

BENEFITS OF VOTING YES
The Childrens Services Council of Broward County is an independent special district
established by Broward County voters in 2000. The Childrens Services Council provides
the leadership, advocacy and resources necessary to enhance childrens lives through a
wide variety of programs designed to help every child lead a healthy, safe and productive life.
Your YES vote for Reauthorization will provide many benefts for Broward Countys children.
Voting YES... will provide children with early learning skills for reading and literacy, so they
are prepared for kindergarten.
Voting YES... will provide elementary school children with access to after-school and
summer programs that help them succeed in school.
Voting YES... will provide programs for children with special developmental or physical
challenges, to help them achieve independence.
Voting YES... will offer support services for children who are having mental health or
behavior problems.
Voting YES...will provide diversion programs for young people who commit minor
offenses, in order to keep our streets safe and keep them out of the juvenile
justice system.
Voting YES... will form school partnerships to address underachievement among black
and Hispanic students.
Voting YES... will not create a new tax, because these funds are already authorized and
currently being collected by the Childrens Services Council.
Voting YES... will continue accountability and oversight of the tax dollars collected. The
Childrens Services Council of Broward County protects tax dollars by only
funding programs that meet clearly defned goals and outcomes and are
continually monitored for quality and performance of the programs. School
programs offer children a safe place to stay.

Reauthorization campaign and the upcoming election.

8) Identify and donate sign locations, billboards, advertising space or marquee space.

Childrens Services Reauthorization.
