Comedy group All India Backods parody the belief that women must be to blame for rising amounts of rape in India.
The Indian comedy group All India Backods, featuring Bollywood actor
Kalki Koechlin, has released a video attacking the most common beliefs
about why women are to blame for rape. Satirising the actions and
words of prominent politicians, religious figures and the police force, the
brainchild of four stand-up comedians has been viewed over one million

This is trolling. A provocative headline with a misleading statement that was actually made as a parody and is in any case about India.

The headline will get lots of clicks but if you do read the article it says nothing.
Whats next? 'Castrate them all' (Not the nine o'clock news).
This is scraping the barrel.

A misleading headline; that is in quotes; is obviously not at face value and is a direct quote from the video the article is about.
No, I don't think there's any problem with the headline, you just need to read it properly.

No doubt the majority of rapes worldwide occur within the hetrosexual envelope. But let's not forget men are raped by men. However, several in our
group( not retired) were appointed Health & Safety officers in their place of work.
They recalled the odd case where a woman sexually assaulted a male.
In all cases the aggressor was in her forties and the victim was in his twenties.
In all cases the victim because of his greater physical strength fought off the woman's advances.
No further action was taken by the 'injured party'. No report was filed.
Sexual harassment of women employees by men was not as rare but action was taken.

my brother was continually sexually harassed by her divorcee female BOSS. When after months of depression, and discussion with me; he
finally complained to higher ups, she herself complained that he was sexually harassing her, and he was arrested. So many cases seemingly of
harassment of women, are actually harassment of men.

its the MEDIA,MOVIES, ADVERTISEMENTS and the frustration cause by government laws..
the effect is subconscious in mind.
that's the reason people tend to rape...
but no 1 realises it...

epynephrin 6 months ago subconsious mind

So, what you're saying is: we can't make decisions of our own. We are so susceptible to images on screen, that we simply take any and all
suggestions thrown at us and make them reality. Essentially, that our decisions are not our own--and that causes rape?
Because that's a terrible premise.

Laura Breen 6 months ago subconsious mind

the frustration caused by government laws make men commit a brutal sexual act of empowerment on a woman.. ARE. YOU. FOR. REAL?

7

Anon 6 months ago subconsious mind

If you believe that it is anything other than the depravity of the individual that commits such a horrendous crime then you need to see a doctor.
In fact my frustration about government laws is the fact that I could go to prison longer for fraud than I could for rape

AJ 6 months ago Anon

The maximum sentence for rape is life, for fraud it is ten years. It is possible for someone convicted of fraud to have a longer sentence
than a rapist but it is very very unlikely and sentencing needs to take into account all the circumstances so I do not think it is wrong that
this is possible.
Is it worse to take the life savings of hundreds of pensioners, with widespread anxiety, suffering andperhaps a few deaths attributed to
the shock, than a rape with no aggravating circumstances?
I am glad I make no such decisions.

Hannah 6 months ago AJ

Are you seriously saying rape has no aggravating circumstances??? What about the psychological and social impact of rape on
not only the victim but also the families of the victims for years?? Rape victims can suffer from anxiety, suffering, isolation and if
they don't die from injuries they can even be pushed to suicide.
Obviously fraud is a terrible crime and should be punished severely but by comparing the 2 crimes and asking which is worse
you're undermining the seriousness of both crimes.

One needs to be sensitive to the culture in which rapes take place - rape is not uncommon in Britain, only the way these things happen in the social
context. In societies where social mixing between the sexes is les common, women who do are seen as easy game or looking for it - western women

venturing into other cultures too fall prey if they do not take basic precautions such as not wandering about the street late at night or dressing, and
acting inappropriately - within the social and cultural context.
We can talk about individual rights and mindsets within different cultures but ultimately those venturing out take care - you don't step into a snake pit
barefooted without the risk of being bitten.

just one or two obscure persons said that women's clothing is one part of reasoning of rape. Now the media and everybody is busy hyping as if a
significant number or majority of males of india , are saying such. This is age of propaganda and feminists have become masters of it

Suki 6 months ago catherine_abc

Oh do be quiet.
One or two people blaming women's clothing for rape? There's a whole religious and puritanical industry plus Joanna Lumley dedicated to
blaming women's clothing for rape.

ss1234 6 months ago catherine_abc

perhaps if you were more well-read on the issue at hand you would understand that it is not "one or two obscure persons" that talked about
women's clothing. perhaps if you read the news more often you would know that there are cases all around the world where this is an issue,
one of the oldest tactics. didn't you ever read about the famous italian case about the woman's jeans and how they were so tight that her rapist
could not have possibly pulled them down himself? it's sad that a woman would defend such comments. if women like you continue to voice
your opinion, which only harms victims, then there is no hope for anyone else.

Has anyone decided whether the number of rapes has actually gone up rather than the numbers actually being reported and highlighted??

epynephrin 6 months ago rtj1211

Uh, one doesn't "decide" statistics.
But, the latest numbers from RAINN indicate 54% go unreported, and 97% of rapists never see jail time--although I think it's US-centric
numbers. I'm not sure what the time frame is you're looking at, but that's higher than it should be.
