Go to:

4-SKEINFORGE-INSTALL\50_reprap_python_beanshell\skeinforge_application\
and run skeinforge.py
To install my profiles / start & end lines etc:
run skeinforge once (skeinforge_application/skeinforge.py and quit it,
(it then makes .skeinforge folder in your user folder, example C:\Users\admin\.s
keinforge)
copy the .skeinforge folder from sf50-camiel-settings-profiles-10-11-2012.zip to
your user folder
and overwrite all files
(you might need to turn on hidden folders or else the .skeinforge folder might n
ot be visible)

Then you should have my skeinforge v50 including:
-profiles: all profiles below are created for 1.75mm filament with 0.35 nozzle:
020L / 025L / 025L-arnitel / 033L / 033L-arnitel / 040L-test
(NOTE: 020L means 0.20mm layer height, for even higher quality enable the SKI
N plugin,
it then makes only the outer surfaces on half layer height, which is
then 0.10mm.
(NOTE: Arnitel = flexible/soft plastic, 040L-test profile is not finetuned yet
and might not be 100% ok)
(NOTE: dont use the default PLA and ABS profiles, those are not ok)
-alterations: start/end gcode, for example in endcode I turn off extruder & heat
ed bed when print is finished.
So when all is done in skeinforge you should be able to just select one of my pr
ofiles
Then to make gcode from a STL file (slicing) in skeinforge standalone:
press the skeinforge button (bottom-left)
and select an STL file to convert to Gcode, it will be put in same folder with "
..._export.gcode"
NOTE: Much easier then standalone is using skeinforge inside repetier, then you
have the ability to use a 3d viewer,
place multiple objects and slice them all in once with the correct profile.
Repetier also comes with another slicer, called slic3r.
At the moment i dont use slic3r, since its limited compared to skeinforge (for e
xample no interior support atm).
However slic3r is alot faster to make gcode and is alot easier to learn.
So using repetier gives you both options in 1 program, you can choose between sl
ic3r or skeinforge (incl my profiles)
NOTE2: My skeinforge profiles are far from perfect, but a good starting point if
you have nothing else.
Try to only change 1 value at once, and to learn skeinforge, press the question
mark
(not the bottom one, but the one next to plugin name).
Another way to learn skeinforge is running it standalone and use the 2D viewer (
zoom in alot) and compare gcodes this way,
to see what a value change does without the need for printing it.
NOTE3: Make sure to make backups of your profiles, since skeinforge saves all th
e time (overwriting your profiles).
Also SF profiles are not compatible with other versions, so only use these profi
les with skeinforge 50.
