I. INTRODUCTION
The location of Barangay Alfonso Angliongto Sr. is within the 50 kilometers
radius of the Epicenter of Davao City proper. It is situated adjacent to the Davao
International Airport which situated in the North. It is bounded by the East of J.P.
Laurel Avenue and on the South by Brgy. Wilfredo Aquino Subdivision, Rafael
Castillo and San Antonio Subdivisions while on the West it is bounded by Diho
Subdivision and Buhangin Diversion Road. It is just 20minutes ride to Davao City
Hall and City Council Building.
Barangay Angliongto has a total land area of 334.453 hectares. It is 46%
percent rural and 54% percent urban areas. The residential area includes 78.84
hectares; Commercial/ business area is 41 hectares. Institutional area is 5.455
hectares: unclassified land area is 209.158 hectares.
Barangay Angliongto is headed by Barangay Captain Manuel A. Ramos;
Barangay Councilors Rodrigo B. Dialogo, Gloria F. Baring, Maxey S. Atog, Jr.,
Claudio A. Tirol, Germelina R. Pavo, Leonilo R. Dulla, JJ Cesar C. Bongcawil and
Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman John Cain Sarmiento. As the basic political unit,
the Barangay serves as the primary planning and implementing unit of government
policies, plans, programs, projects and activities in the community, and as a forum
wherein the collective views of the people may be expressed, crystallized and
considered, and where disputes may be amicably settled.












II. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
In 1960, Don Emilio Ramos Sr. became the first Barangay Captain of Barangay
Pampanga. In 1968, the Ramos Family donated road right of way from Damosa to
Golden Homes about 15 meters wide, connecting to the Philippine Japan Friendship
Highway, Buhangin diversion road the gateway to the entire provinces of the Mindanao
Island. In 1989, the family of Mr. Vicente L. Angliongto also donated an area of One(1)
hectare for school campus, named after V.L. Angliongto Elementary School, allocated
also an area for open canal and for drainage system, likewise provided about 24
hectares vast area for subdivision and housing purposes. In 1990, Major Manuel A.
Ramos and family donated one (1) hectare for a school site and named after Don Emilio
Ramos Sr. National High School. He donated another one (1) hectare of land for roads
and open canal connecting the boundary of Fortune Village, likewise provided 10
hectares of land for subdivision housing purposes presently known as Diamond Village
1 & 2. On September 2005, September 2005- Barangay Alfonso Angliongto Sr. and
Barangay Vicente Hizon Sr. passed a joint resolution Nos. 01 ,Series of 2005
requesting the City Government of Davao Through the Sangguniang Panglungsod for a
financial assistance in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos(P150,000.00)
per month for each barangay, By invoking Section Nos. 285 of Republic Act 7160 ,
otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, on the provision on allocation
to the Local Government Units in their share in the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA). A
provision therein that states the financial requirements of the barangays created By the
Local Government Units after the effectivity of the said code shall be the responsibility
of the Local Government concerned. Thus, newly created Barangays are not entitled to
a share in the IRA. In July 9-10, 2009 three days celebration of Araw ng Barangay
wherein City Mayor Rody Duterte and Vice Mayor Inday Sara Duterte attended the
celebration. On October 2010, Barangay election was held wherein Re-elect Barangay
Alfredo G. Bongcavil won and passed away on December 24, 2010.
