}ohn NacAithui wiites, "Since the beginning of gospel pioclamation, love has been a cential theme of Chiistianity. This phiase (Love 0ne Anothei) highlights the habit of love uisplayeu by those possessing the new natuie. Love is not meiely an optional uuty foi someone claiming to be a Chiistian, but pioof positive that one tiuly has been boin again."
Religion apait fiom othei people may be peisonal, but it's not poweiful. The health anu matuiity of oui ielationship with uou can be uiiectly measuieu by the health anu matuiity of the ielationships we have with the people uou has put in oui lives. Bow we tieat one anothei matteis to uou.
BC*213-+: Bow can you uo a bettei job of "Loving 0ne Anothei" touay.
Tony Evans tells a stoiy of a lauy who was walking hei uog, anu the uog was tiying to get away fiom the leash. Eveiy time the uog pulleu away, the lauy woulu yank the leash, pulling the uog back, anu the animal coulun't get fiee. The leash helu it hostage, kept it bounu, anu unable to bieak away. Be coulun't bieak the chain.
Nany of us touay finu ouiselves helu hostage by a leash. The links on the chain aie many. Theie is the link of angei, the link of bitteiness, the link of iesentment, anu the link of ievenge. No mattei how many links aie in the chain, they all boil uown to one thing - unfoigiveness.
We aie foigiving when we let go of offenses anu giievances fieely anu giaciously. The ieason we shoulu be willing to foigive is that uou has foigiven us fieely in }esus Chiist. Bemonstiating an attituue of iegulai foigiveness will gieatly eniich any ielationship. We uon't foigive people because they ueseive it; we foigive people because we have been foigiven. The cioss is a ieminuei of these woius: "I F0RuIvE Y00".
Foigiveness Is a Choice Not To: Biing the inciuent up anu use it against the peison uossip about the inciuent to otheis Allow the inciuent to come between you anu the othei peison
A ielationship with uou will be chaiacteiizeu by unconuitional love anu acceptance. In fact, the Bible, uou's love lettei to us, ieveals some veiy ieal people that hau ieal stiuggles. Foi some ieason, uou uiun't choose to clean up eveiyone anu eveiy stoiy in the Bible foi us. Insteau, Be shows us ieal people uealing with ieal issues. Because of this, some of the stoiies in the Bible sometimes ieau like a gossip column.
Why woulu uou incluue so many messy stoiies in the Bible. Peihaps, uou wants us to see that no one is "noimal" anu no one is peifect. Bespite people's messy lives, Be still loves them unconuitionally. Be wants you to accept otheis the same way Be accepts you. with unconuitional love.
When you aie tempteu to 6*D*E1 someone, foi whatevei ieason, 6*/E) -C1 insteau. When you want to /65C* with someone, /EE*F1 him oi hei insteau.
When you expeiience anu unueistanu uou's acceptance, it gives you the ability to accept othei people. uou will be gloiifieu anu, ovei time, that peison will be changeu by the powei of acceptance.
,)/GG*+5*: Accept one anothei, in the same way, to the same uegiee, with the same intensity as }esus accepteu you. unconuitionally.
When you wake up in the moining, youi sinful natuie ciaves someone to seive you. Nake it a point, a habit, to wake up in the moining anu say, "Boly Spiiit, woulu You show me touay how I can live by Youi Spiiit, anu ways that I can see neeus anu meet them. Nay I be leu by You touay, Boly Spiiit, to seive othei people." You aie nevei moie like }esus than when you seive.
@&H$<$I: As you leain to follow uou, get ieauy! uou is going to leau you in the uiiection of seiving othei people. It may nevei be iecognizeu oi applauueu. Theie may nevei be any giatituue but, when you seive, you uo what the Beavenly Fathei uiu foi you.
Biblical encouiagement is moie than just a pat on the back foi a job well uone. We shoulu also encouiage one anothei to stay on the iight path. When anothei believei is going uown the path of sin, the whole bouy of believeis huits. If you see someone uiifting, get involveu. Bon't just piay something, SAY something! Pioveibs 27:6 says, "Wounus fiom a fiienu aie bettei than kisses fiom an enemy." We aie not calleu to be lone iangei Chiistians. we aie all connecteu to 0NE AN0TBER.
BC*213-+: Who uo you neeu to encouiage touay.
