What i s The New Inqui si t i on?

The New Inquisition (TNI) is a community of Nationstates players, who have set up
their own society within the Nationstates game. Like many societies in real life, TNI has
a Head of State, a Constitution, a Government, Armed Forces, Societies, Churches,
even a University.

Nationstates is a game where individuals roleplay as nations based on their political
beliefs. TNI enables you to take that experience to the next level, enabling you to take
part in a regional government that interacts with thousands of NS players across the
world who live in similar communities.

TNI is one of the oldest, strongest and most famous regions in Nationstates. Joining
TNI is not like joining another region in Nationstates, you are not just joining a
community you are becoming part of a legend

Why do I need t o si gn up for ci t i zenshi p?

You need to sign up for citizenship so that we can verify who you are. As in real life,
there are some people who wish to infiltrate TNI in order to damage it citizenship
enables us to check the background of individuals and keep TNI safe.

Once we know who you are, citizenship enables you to fully participate in TNI whether
through voting in elections, running for office or signing up to the TNI Armed Forces
(TNIAF).

Why i s everyt hi ng German?

Many regions in Nationstates have themes that set them apart from other places and
give their community an identity. Some are socialist regions. Some are capitalist regions.
Some are Communist regions. Some are based on real life countries. Some are set in
medieval times. Some are set in the future.

TNI has a Prussian theme from the 18
th
Century. Why? Partly because Prussia was
associated with a strong military (which is something TNI is known for), partly because
it was unique (there are not many Germanic regions in Nationstates) and partly because
the people who set up TNI liked it!

Dont worry though, while TNI has a Prussian theme, you dont have to speak
Germanit is all a bit of fun!

Anything you like! (within the law)

TNI is a land of opportunity, depending on what you like doing you can:

Join the military The New Inquisition Armed Forces (TNIAF) is one of the most
famous (and feared!) militaries in Nationstates. Together with other players, you can
use your nation to conquer new territories and gain great personal glory!

Enter politics TNI has a very active political scene with regular elections. Any citizen
can stand for election and once elected to our legislature, you can propose new laws.
All citizens can be part of our Government whether that is through serving in one of
our many departments (like a real life government!) or at the highest level in our
Cabinet of Ministers.

Join (or create) a society TNI citizens have a wide variety of interests and passions,
and we have societies to discuss everything from Game of Thrones to Philosophy. If
you dont find something you like, you can always create a place to discuss things that
interest you with people from across the world.

Join the Imperial Civil Service If you want to get used to playing in Nationstates,
joining the Imperial Civil Service is a great place to start. Youll be given a job that suits
your interests, being able to contribute to the success of the region whilst having a great
experience.

Roleplay TNI has many roleplaying games running where citizens take on fictional
roles set far in the past, far into the future, or in crazy situations. Enjoy creative writing?
Then you have come to the right place

Procrastinate! TNI has an Iron Bar where people can play random games from Last
One to Post Wins to Corrupt-a-Wish. You can also post random thoughts about your
day or jokes anything you like! We also have general discussion area for everyone to
get to know each other.

You can also sign up to the Imperial University to give lectures or discuss your favourite
topics and subjects, play our new Stock Exchange and make your fortune, write a
newspaper, set up your own religion, become an Ambassador to a foreign
regionanything is possible!

How does everyt hi ng work i n TNI?

Great question.

TNI is a Constitutional Monarchy. This means that we have an unelected Head of State
(The Kaiser) who transfers power to his successor.

Our government made up of citizens and led by an elected Reich Chancellor. They
make sure that the region is run properly on a day-to-day basis.

We have a legislature called The Diet which makes our laws (like Congress or the
Houses of Parliament) it is made up of two chambers. One is called the Reichstag
and this is composed of elected representatives (called Delegates) who serve for eight
weeks. The other is called The Herrenhaus and is made up of unelected Peers of the
Realm individuals who have been appointed because of long and distinguished
service to the region.

The law is enforced by our court (called the Imperial Court) that is made up of three
judges who rule on cases which come up from time to time.

Why do we have an Army?

Nationstates is a dangerous placethere are many forces out there which would like to
damage The New Inquisition. Our Army helps to protect The New Inquisitions
interests around the Nationstates world and make the world a more stable and more
ordered place.

It is also great fun opening up a completely new aspect of the Nationstates experience
for players. Only in Nationstates can you write a law in the morning, conquer a region
at lunchtime and sign a treaty before bedtime!

Do we i nt eract wi t h t he rest of t he worl d?

Yes. The Foreign Office of TNI sends regular updates to the rest of the Nationstates
world, and you can travel Nationstates on behalf of TNI as an Ambassador.

What i s t he poi nt of al l t hi s?

TNI is an online community in a political simulation doing these things is a fun and
creative way to spend your time, learning skills that will stay with you wherever you go
in the future.

Ultimately, you dont have to do anything. But you get as much out of TNI as you put
in, the more time you take to contribute your ideas and views, the more fun youll have.

We all play Nationstates for fun, and part of the fun is getting to know new people. So
dont feel like you cant speak up about your views or suggest new ideas. We want
everyone to participate, whether you have been here 1 day or 1000 days!

Can I i nvi t e my fri ends?

Of course! The more, the better.

Many TNI members were friends in real life before they joined us. Others have
become friends since playing Nationstates together. Whether you have come to play
with friends or to make them, TNI is the region for you.

Who can I t al k t o i f I have any quest i ons?

If you are stuck, come to TNIs Naturalisation Office and ask a question. Our
Naturalisation Officers will answer it as soon as they can.

You can also as The Home Secretary any questions that you like. Their job is to help
new citizens get used to TNI, so if you are really nervous, send them a Private Message
and theyll get back to you as quickly as they can!

But feel free to approach any member of TNI who happens to be online we are a
friendly group and youll find that everyone is really keen to help new people enjoy
their time in TNI.
