EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS), owned by the Tanzania
Episcopal Conference (TEC), provides training for over 1500 students. CUHAS is
currently running programmes in Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Medicine
(MMED), Master in Public Health (MPH), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Bachelor of
Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education (B.Sc.NED), Bachelor
of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences
(BMLS),Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (DPS), Diploma in Medical Laboratory
Sciences (DMLS), Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (DDR) and Pre- University MD.
CUHAS is looking for highly qualified and motivated persons to fill the following
positions;
1. ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER III
i. Qualifications
Holder of a Bachelor Degree or Advance Diploma in either Public
Administration, Human Resource Management, Personnel
Management, Manpower Development and Planning or any other
relevant or related field.
ii. Duties
Assisting in coordinating and facilitating various daily
administrative activities of the institution.
Assisting in collecting and keeping records of major events of the
institution
Assisting in Analyzing and advising on various
administrative,legal,policy rules and regulations of the institution.
Assisting in Supervision of junior administrative staff.
Assisting in management and administration of staff welfare.
Performing any relevant administrative matters.
Any other duties as may be assigned by ones superiors.
iii. Other skills
Fluent in written and spoken English and Swahili
Computer literate
Excellent communications skills
Flexible and easily adaptable to change
A positive attitude is highly desirable in the successful candidate.
2. ASSISTANT INTERNAL AUDITOR
i. Formal Qualifications
Holder of a First degree in B.Com (Accountancy), BBA (Accounting
or Finance), Advance Diploma in Accountancy (ADA) and any
relevant field. Holding Masters Degree in a related field will be an
added advantage.

ii. Personal experience
At least 3 years working experience as an Internal Audit or
internal control in a reputable institution/organization.

iii. Duties
To assist in evaluating and providing reasonable assurance that
risk management, control, and governance systems are
functioning as intended.
To assist in examining the institutions accounts and financial
control systems.
Checking that financial reports and records are accurate and
reliable.
To reports risk management issues and internal controls
deficiencies identified directly to the audit committee
To provide recommendations for improving the organizations
operations, in terms of both efficient and effective performance
Assist in evaluating information security and associated risk
exposures
valuates regulatory compliance program with consultation from
legal counsel
Assists in evaluating the organizations readiness in case of
business interruption
Liaising with managerial staff and presenting findings and
recommendations.
Liaising with other internal and external sources as appropriate

Assisting to ensure that assets are safeguarded.
Provides support to the institutions anti-fraud programs.
Assists in the reviews of wages.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by ones
supervisors.

iv. Other skills

3. LOANS OFFICER
i. Position objectives
In order to facilitate handling of student loans given by the
HESLB, the University established Students Loans Desk to be
headed by a Loans officer.

ii. Formal Qualifications
Holder of University degree in Financial Management or
Accountancy.Candidate who served as Ministers for loans might
have an added advantage.

iii. Personal experience
At least 3 years working experience in related field in a reputable
intuition/organization.

iv. Duties
A. To facilitate handling of student loans within the University by performing
the following ; -

Be custodian of loans disbursement records at the university
Verify payments schedules received from the Board against
current studentship/ status and recommend action to be taken
Follow up on examination results from the relevant offices and
pass them to the Board.
Ensure that bonafide students sign in the payment schedules
from the Board and prepare returns to the Board.
Facilitate timely payment of student allowances after signing in
the pay sheets
Verify disbursement claims received from students and forward
them to the Board, otherwise advise the students accordingly
Follow up list of registered students together with their bank
account numbers and forward them to the Board
Coordinate exchange of any other loan disbursement information
between students, university and HESLB
B. To facilitate funding to the university by performing the following:

To raise invoices to HESLB/ MoHSW and follow up of payment of
Tuition fee and stipend/ Research for the students
To raise invoices to any other sponsor from time to time

v. Other skills
Excellent communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
High level of computer literacy in Database, Spreadsheet and or
access
Capable of working under pressure and long hours
Honest and Trustworthy
Adaptability and Flexible
Ability to organize and prioritize
Interpersonal Skills
Committed to solving problems
Proactive and capable of taking initiatives

Remuneration
Successful candidates for all posts will be offered a competitive
package as befits their qualifications and experience, as per
CUHAS Scheme of Service.
