Roman Pilum used to render enemies shields
useless. With their enemies without shields the
Romans gained a large military advantage.






Spartan shield. The Spartan shield was a lot like a hoplite
shield which was the first shield to have a arm strap. The
Spartan also would paint a design on their shield.









Gladiator helmet. Helmets like this were worn by
many gladiators that fought for their freedom.







Persian Iron sword circa 900 B.C. This sword is
from the Persian iron age.






Ancient Sickle sword invented from the Sumerians C.
2,500 B.C. This sword was later used by the
Egyptians.

Mongolian recurve bow.






Viking axe. When Viking's went to battle the took
this axe with them as their main fighting weapon.







Katana. Samurais used the Katana as their weapon
of choice.






Chinese armor. Early forms made of turtle shells,
rhinoceros hide, buffalo hide, and later bronze.

Ancient Chinese paper invented by Cai lun in 105
AD.







Viking Drakkar long ships used during the ninth

Flying Buttress used to support Gothic Cathedral

A Si Nan the ancestor of the compass invented
during the Warring States period.







Renaissance printing press made by Johannes Gutenberg
in 1452. He used metal characters instead of the wooden
ones used In earlier printing presses.
