As the current Tennessee Council of Teachers of English President, it is my responsibility to plan our annual Professional Development Institute (PDI). Since our organization is a 501-(c)(3) non-profit, we depend on membership and sponsorship to help offset the high cost of planning professional development for our educators. We are currently seeking sponsorship from businesses.
The PDI will provide an opportunity for educators to enhance their teaching practices in English-language arts. The goal is for educators to take what they discover and provide a valuable service to the schools in which they teach. Additionally, attendance at such an institute allows educators to develop effective working relationships with colleagues from across the state and to equip themselves more fully to meet the needs of their students.
The 2014 PD Institute will be held in Memphis at the Bridges facility on September 26 and 27. Your participation and contribution will influence the quality of our annual Institute. Your assistance will also allow TCTE to offer expanded training and programs in the language arts to teachers throughout Tennessee. By sponsoring educational programs for TCTE members during the fall 2014 PDI, you are also touching the lives of students in schools throughout Tennessee.
I am enclosing with this letter a sponsorship form. We are grateful for any monetary donations or for in-kind donations of products, books, or materials that our teachers could use.
If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to email me at tcteinfo@gmail.com.
