PREFACE
The pro'ect includes a brief description of M*T*A: 2*9D 6ndustry and perception of
in+estors and ad+isors about mutual fund.
A mutual fund is a scheme in which se+eral people in+est their money for a common
financial cause. The collected money in+ests in the capital mar;et and the money0 which
they earned0 is di+ided based on the number of units0 which they hold. The mutual fund
industry started in 6ndia in a small way with the *T6 Act creating what was effecti+ely a
small sa+ings di+ision within the 8B6. =+er a period of "4 years this grew fairly
successfully and ga+e in+estors a good return0 and therefore in $1?10 as the ne3t logical
step0 public sector ban;s and financial institutions were allowed to float mutual funds and
their success emboldened the go+ernment to allow the pri+ate sector to foray into this area.
A sur+ey was conducted to get the primary data to 'udge the factors that in+estor and
ad+isor ;eep in mind before dealing in mutual fund i.e.
.Safety% .8eturn%.fle3ibility%.:iquidity%.Schemes
At present there are many Schemes being offered by +arious M*T*A: 2*9D
companies. @ach AM7s is competing with each other by :aunching new products or
relaunching old ones.
M*T*A: 2*9D industry today is facing a huge competition not only from with in
the industry but also from other financial products li;e 6nsurance !olicies. 6n
the pro'ect 6 tried my best to study things which 6 obser+ed during my training
period .My analysis and conclusion is based on actual research of the Topic.
