Why I further my studies

I am a teacher in Sekolah Kebangsaan Damansara Damai 1 with 13 years of experience. I

started being a teacher with a Diploma in Education. ow! I am furthering my first degree in
"athematics. #here are many reasons why I wanted to further my studies. #he main reason is to
gain more knowledge. ow days! people can get ample information and knowledge using the
Internet and from many other sources. Sometimes! pupils are also more knowledgeable from
their teachers too. #hat$s why! I think personally! all teachers should further their studies! so that
they can be more prepared in front of their pupils when teaching since pupils sometimes like to
test their teacher$s knowledge. #hey will ask many %uestions beyond the sub&ect taught.
#eachers with lack of knowledge will look silly in the eyes of their pupils. 'upils will lose trust
in their teachers and also lose interest to study. (hen pupils lose interest to study! teachers ha)e
to work harder to attract their attention.
Studying for a degree costs a lot of money and effort. *owe)er! the "alaysian
+o)ernment through the "inistry of Education offers many schemes for free under a few
circumstances to encourage teachers to further their studies. #eachers only ha)e to pay for their
transport to and from their place of study. #he education fees will be paid by the go)ernment and
teachers also get their full salary e)ery month. *owe)er! teachers need to apply for the scheme
online. ormally! teachers with more teaching experience will be gi)en the opportunity first.
,ther teachers will ha)e to wait for their turn or when the scheme is reopened. -or this reason! I
think all teachers should grab this opportunity. .s for me! this is the second reason why I am
furthering my studies.
,ther than that! I also further my studies in order to upgrade my le)el in the teaching
scheme grades or in another word! to earn more income. "alaysian teachers with a Diploma in
Education are offered to go for a higher le)el or self promoted automatically when they further
their study and complete their degree course. +oing to a higher le)el means earning more
income. Earning more income can help me gets %uality things in my life. #he cost of li)ing in
"alaysia keeps increasing e)ery year. .s the head of my family! I ha)e to ensure my wife and
my kids get a comfortable and %uality life. I ha)e to fulfill all their needs and wants. I ha)e to
prepare a comfortable and safe home for them. /esides that! I also ha)e to take care of my
mother. .s the eldest son in my family! I ha)e to make sure my mother$s need is fulfilled
especially for her health condition. *oping to get a mother$s blesses for me and my own family
is )ery important. #hese are the reason why I am furthering my studies.
