Shower Shield
Our wetrooms and enclosures have a
transparent easyclean coating which
repels water and limescale.
Eternalite
The Eternalite finish is available on our
baths and ensures a rigid, super-strong
bath which retains heat for up to 30
minutes longer than a standard bath.
WRAS
Appropriate products have been
extensively tested by the WRc and are
approved or pending approval to comply
with the Water Regulations Advisory
Scheme.
TMV2
The Government recommends the
use of thermostatic mixing valves
(TMVs) for baths, taps and showers
for all housing. TMV2 Certified valves
maintain the pre-set temperatures
even if the water pressure varies when
other appliances are used, preventing
domestic hot water scalding.
TMV3
TMV3 valves are engineered to a high
standard so that they meet Government
Health and Safety requirements for
use in public places such as schools,
hospitals, offices etc. and would
significantly reduce the risk of scalds
occurring in the home or anywhere that
hot water is delivered through mixing
valves.

enclosures, taps, furniture, mirrors and
designer radiators. Signicant growth over
the last 30 years has seen Ultra expand from
a small operation in a former air-raid shelter
to modern premises - boasting a state-of-
the-art distribution centre employing more
than 150 people.
At Ultra, we ensure that you can have the
latest bathroomdesigns, manufactured
to the highest standards and all at
afordable prices.
We want to make choosing a bathroomeasy
for you by ofering co-ordinating taps and
showers, baths with optional Eternalite
nish to make themstronger and retain
heat for longer, and thermostatic showers
which provide anti-scald protection for all
the family.
We also provide easy-t enclosures which
are easy to install, stylish but functional
furniture with soft-close doors and drawers,
mirrors with handy features such as shaving
sockets, de-mister pads and great lighting
efects, plus radiator designs which range
fromheating a whole roomto giving the
luxury of warmtowels.

We have achieved many widely recognised
approvals such as TMV2, TMV3, WRAS and
we are proud to be members of the Made in
Britain scheme.
Our sanitaryware is made fromhigh quality
vitreous china, shower enclosures feature
8mmtoughened safety glass, and our taps
feature ceramic disc technology which
are tested to ensure smooth operation
for a decade and all of these fantastic
features are backed by our market leading
guarantees to give you peace of mind.
Our ability to offer the most popular styles at affordable prices has seen Ultra
become of the biggest and well established bathroom brands in the UK.
We are proud to be members of the Made in Britain scheme;
Our shower valves are manufactures
at our factory in Burnley, using
the patented Valquest cartridge.
The showers are assembled in our
dedicated production area and are
tested on-site using our state of the
art testing facilities.
Our futuristic Pioneer shower valves
are also made in Britain, using high
grade engineered polymer.
The popular Pearlstone shower trays
are manufactured at our Halifax site,
using a patented formula making
themstrong but up to 50% lighter
than conventional stone resin trays.
Our whole bath range is now made
in Britain, including the models with
Eternalite finish and the new designs
introduced for 2014.

Bathroomwith Bath
Safety is the main concern when considering bathroomlighting.
Bathrooms are divided into Zones 0, 1 and 2, based on their likely
exposure to water. Only use light ttings in the zone for which they
are designed.
The main light should be switched on by a pull cord or a switch
outside the bathroom. Please note: The classication of bathroom
zones has changed. Zone 3 no longer exists, but references to it may
still appear on product packaging.
Bathroomwith Shower Tray
Zone 0 is the smallest volume that contains the bath, shower,
basin etc.
Zone 1 is the area above Zone 0, up to a height of 2.25mabove
the oor.
Zone 2 is the area above Zone 1 up to a height of 3m, as well as
the area that is horizontally within 0.6mfromZone 1.
If the space under the bath cannot be accessed
without using a tool, then that space is considered un-zoned.

High gloss, smooth sanitary grade Lucite acrylic
which is warm to the touch. The solid colour will not
fade or rub of over time.
Fully encapsulated, high strength base board to give

Specialist Eternalite nish provides extra rigidity and

Gravity-fed hot water systems
The usual conguration consists of a cold water storage tank in the loft
and a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard. This is the water supply
traditionally installed in UK homes.
High pressure systems
Instantaneous gas water heater or combi boiler: Combination boilers are
increasingly used in the UK, and a wall-mounted or oor-standing boiler
heats the water as it is used.
Unvented Systems
Hot water is stored in a large cylinder under pressure. This systemhas no
requirement for a cold water storage tank.

We all need to reduce the amount of water we use - the average person in the UK uses
approximately 150 litres of water every day. This level of consumption is unsustainable and
is contributing to water shortages in areas of the UK. Reducing the amount of water we use
is no longer a choice - it is essential.
There are several ways to save water - for instance, a shower uses 40%less water than
running a bath. We also ofer a range of Eco-Flow water regulators, which restrict the
maximumow rate to 6 litres per minute. The ow regulators are a quick and cost efective
way to reduce your water usage - see below for details.
With the introduction of new Part G Building Regulations in 2010, the focus on water

teeth for example, so to help combat this,
we have introduced the Eco-Click mono
basin mixers. These water ef cient ttings
feature a specially designed Eco-Click
cartridge, allowing you to select reduced
or full ow fromthe tap. Click to the rst
setting for 50%ow rate and simply click
again to achieve full ow.
Eco-Click mono basin mixers are available
in a wide variety of styles to suit your taste

How much heat will I need?
All rooms are individual and therefore the heat output required fromyour selected radiator
will vary.
It is important you choose the correct radiator to ensure enough heat is generated to keep
you comfortable. A sensible tip is to always choose a model with a higher heat output than
you require, as this can always be controlled by turning it down.
What is the measurement for heat output?
All our radiators carry the heat output measured in either:
BTUs (British Thermal Unit)
or
Watts
Our BTU calculations use the British Standard of Delta t60c
What heat output will I need for my room?
It is highly recommended that your installer calculates the BTU requirement for each
applicable room, so you can get the maximumheat benet fromyour chosen radiator. We
strongly suggest this is done before purchasing your radiator.
Which radiator designs offer the best heat output?
Basically, the bigger surface area that a radiator has, the more heat output will be generated.
Another general guide is that painted nishes ofer a slightly better heat output than chrome
nished items. To optimize the space you have available we ofer radiator designs that can
be tted horizontally or vertically. To get additional heat output fromthe same area, you can
also choose options that include multi rows of tubes, panels and columns.
Radiator Colour Options
Fromstock, we ofer the most current fashionable colour options across a wide range of
products, all of which can be seen in our current brochures. Please note that due to the
printing process, the actual colours on the radiators may vary slightly fromthose shown in
our brochures.
Pipe Centres
All our dimensional details are published in our current brochures. However, due to
manufacturing tolerances, we strongly suggest that your nal pipework position is not
completed until you actually receive delivery of your radiator.
Electric-Only Radiators
Where your installation location does not have immediate access to an existing water
supply, we can ofer purpose made electric-only products for a quick and easy solution to
your heating needs. These electric-only products are supplied pre-lled with an electrical
inhibitor solution, and tted with a compatible heating element.
Dual Fuel radiators
Some of our radiators can also work as dual fuel applications, which means when your
main heating systemmight be turned of in the summer months, you can still operate your
radiators electrically if required. Please see our current brochures for suitable models.
Radiator Valve options
Depending on your choice of radiator, we have several styles to choose from, details of
which can be found in our current brochures.
Warning/Precautions
Qualied persons should make all electrical and plumbing connections. When tting
radiators with heating elements, the radiator must always be mounted with the element
at the bottomwith the radiator in the upright position. Failure to do so may result in a re
hazard.
All radiators come complete with xing screws.
Prices exclude radiator valves and heating elements.
After installing any new radiators, when relling the systemit is
recommended a suitable inhibitor is used.
All tappings are 1/2 BSP.
Dimensions are subject to minor deviations.
We recommend pipework is not installed until receipt
of heated towel rail.
Look out for this symbol on radiators which ofer excellent heat
output for their surface area

Troubleshooting:
When you have added a radiator
and it is only Cold or not fully
heating up.

There are all sorts of reasons why this could
be happening.
1
It might sound obvious but rst check that
you have turned your heating on.
2
What is your boiler model/type?
It may not be big enough to supply the
requirements of the additional radiator
added. (Contact your boiler manufacturer
for guidance.)
3
Has the systemwater level been topped up
adequately to compensate for the
new radiator?
4
If the pipework get hot and the radiator not?
You may have an air lock in the system.
Try bleeding the system.
5
If the pipework is not getting hot you may
have a blockage preventing circulation.
Locate the blockage and clear.

If the radiator only heats up partially.

First check both valves on the sides of the
radiator are open, and if a thermostatic
valve is tted, remove the top and check the
operating pin moves freely.
6.2
It may be that the water ow is crossing
over the bottomof the radiator before the
radiator lls, so slow down the return valve
side, this will help the lling up of
the radiator.
6.3
It is possible to t a bafe to the inlet on
certain types of radiator. The idea of this
bafe is to encourage the water ow in a
vertical direction thus lling the radiator to
allow it to fully heat up.
(Please note using a bafe you will need to
alter the pipe centres.)
6.4
It may be relating back to point 2 above
boiler is not big enough for the additional
radiator added. (Contact your boiler
manufacturer for guidance.)
