Operation
Safe Handlingof Gasoline:
1. Toavoid personalinjuryor propertydamageuse
extremecareinhandlinggasoline.Gasolineis
extremely flammableand the vapors areexplo-
sive. Seriouspersonalinjurycanoccurwhengasoline
isspilledonyourselfor yourclotheswhichcanignite.
Washyourskinandchangeclothesimmediately.
a. Useonlyanapprovedgasolinecontainer.
b. Neverfill containersinsideavehicleor ona
truckor trailerbedwitha plasticliner.Always
placecontainersonthegroundawayfrom
yourvehiclebeforefilling.
c. Whenpractical,removegas-powered
equipmentfromthetruckor trailerand refuelit
ontheground.If this isnotpossible,then
refuelsuchequipmenton a trailerwitha
portablecontainer,ratherthanfroma gasoline
dispensernozzle.
d. Keepthenozzlein contactwiththerimof
thefueltankor containeropeningat all
timesuntilfuelingiscomplete.Donot usea
nozzlelock-opendevice.
e. Extinguishall cigarettes,cigars,pipesand
othersourcesof ignition.
f. Neverfuel machineindoors.
g. Neverremovegas capor addfuel whilethe
engineishot or running.Allowenginetocool
at least twominutesbeforerefueling.
h. Neveroverfill fuel tank.Fill tanktonomore
than1/2inchbelowbottomof filler neckto
allowspacefor fuel expansion.
i. Replacegasolinecapandtightensecurely.
j. If gasolineis spilled,wipeit off theengine
andequipment.Moveunit toanotherarea.
Wait5 minutesbeforestartingtheengine.
k. Toreducefirehazards,keepmachinefreeof
grass,leaves,or otherdebris build-up.Clean
upoil or fuel spillageand removeanyfuel
soakeddebris.
I. Neverstorethemachineor fuel container
insidewherethereis anopenflame,spark
or pilot lightas on a waterheater,space
heater,furnace,clothesdryeror other gas
appliances.
m. Allowa machinetocool at least fiveminutes
beforestoring.

General Operation:
1. Read,understand,andfollowall instructionsonthe
machineandin themanual(s)beforeattemptingto
assembleandoperate.Keepthismanualina safe
placefor futureandregularreferenceandfor ordering
replacement parts.
2. Befamiliarwith all controlsandtheir properoperation.
Knowhowtostopthe machineanddisengagethem
quickly.
3, Neverallowchildrenunder 14yearsold tooperate
this machine.Children14yearsoldandovershould
readandunderstandtheoperationinstructionsand
safetyrulesinthis manualandshouldbetrainedand
supervisedby a parent.
4. Neverallowadultstooperatethis machinewithout
proper instruction.
5. Tohelpavoidbladecontactor a thrownobject injury,
keepbystanders, helpers,childrenand petsat least
75feet fromthemachinewhileit is inoperation.Stop
machineif anyoneentersthearea.
6. Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheequipmentis to
be used. Removeall stones,sticks,wire,bones,toys,
andotherforeignobjectswhichcouldbe pickedup
andthrownbytheblade(s).Thrownobjectscancause
seriouspersonalinjury.
7. Planyourmowingpatterntoavoiddischargeof
materialtowardroads,sidewalks,bystandersandthe
like. Also,avoiddischargingmaterialagainstawall or
obstructionwhichmaycausedischargedmaterialto
ricochetbacktowardtheoperator.
8. Alwayswear safetyglassesor safetygogglesduring
operationandwhileperformingan adjustmentor
repairtoprotectyoureyes.Thrownobjectswhich
ricochetcancauseseriousinjurytotheeyes.
9. Wearsturdy,rough-soledworkshoesandclose-fitting
slacksandshirts. Loosefittingclothesandjewelry
canbecaught inmovableparts.Neveroperatethis
machinein barefeet or sandals.
10.Beawareof themowerandattachmentdischarge
directionanddo not pointit at anyone.Donot operate
themowerwithoutthedischargecoveror entiregrass
catcherin itsproperplace.
11.Donot put handsor feet near rotatingpartsor under
thecuttingdeck. Contactwiththeblade(s)can
amputatehandsandfeet.
12.A missingor damageddischargecovercancause
bladecontactor thrownobjectinjuries.
13.Stoptheblade(s)whencrossinggraveldrives,walks,
or roadsandwhilenot cuttinggrass.
14.Watchfor trafficwhenoperatingnearor crossing
roadways.Thismachineis not intendedfor useon
anypublic roadway.
15.Donotoperatethe machinewhileundertheinflu-
enceof alcoholor drugs.
16.Mowonly in daylightor goodartificiallight.
17.Nevercarrypassengers.
18.Disengageblade(s)beforeshiftingintoreverse.
Backupslowly.Alwayslookdownandbehindbefore
andwhilebackingtoavoida back-overaccident.
19.Slowdownbeforeturning.Operatethe machine
smoothly.Avoiderraticoperationandexcessive
speed.
20.Disengageblade(s),set parkingbrake,stopengine
andwait untiltheblade(s)cometoa completestop
beforeremovinggrasscatcher,emptyinggrass,
uncloggingchute,removingany grassor debris,or
makinganyadjustments.
21.Neverleavea runningmachineunattended.Always
turnoff blade(s), placetransmissionin neutral,set
parkingbrake,stopengineand removekeybefore
dismounting.
22.Useextracarewhenloadingor unloadingthe
machineintoa traileror truck. Thisunit shouldnot
bedrivenupor downramp(s),becausethe unit
couldtipover,causingseriouspersonalinjury.The
unit mustbepushedmanuallyon ramp(s)toloador
unloadproperly.
23.Mufflerandenginebecomehotandcancausea
burn.Donottouch.
24.Checkoverheadclearancescarefullybeforedriving
under lowhangingtreebranches,wires,dooropen-
ingsetc., wheretheoperatormaybe struckor pulled
fromthe unit,whichcouldresult inseriousinjury.
25.Disengageall attachmentclutches,depressthe
brakepedalcompletelyandshift intoneutralbefore
attemptingtostartengine.
26.Yourmachineisdesignedto cut normalresidential
grassof a heightno morethan10".Donotattemptto
mowthroughunusuallytall, dry grass(e.g.,pasture)
or pilesof dry leaves.Drygrassor leavesmay
contacttheengineexhaustand/orbuildup onthe
mowerdeckpresentinga potentialfirehazard.
27.Useonlyaccessoriesandattachmentsapprovedfor
thismachinebythemachinemanufacturer. Read,
understandandfollowall instructionsprovidedwith
theapprovedaccessoryor attachment.
28.Dataindicatesthat operators,age60 yearsand
above,are involvedin a largepercentageof riding
mower-relatedinjuries.Theseoperatorsshould

Slopesare a majorfactor relatedtolossof controland
tip-overaccidentswhichcanresultin severeinjuryor
death.All slopesrequireextracaution.If youcannot
backuptheslopeor if youfeel uneasyonit, do notmow
it.
Foryour safety,usetheslopegaugeincludedas partof
thismanualto measureslopesbeforeoperatingthisunit
ona slopedor hillyarea. If theslopeis greaterthan15
degreesas shownon theslopegauge,do notoperate
thisunit onthat areaor seriousinjurycouldresult.
DO:
1. Mowupanddownslopes,notacross. Exercise
extremecautionwhenchangingdirectiononslopes.
2. Watchfor holes, ruts,bumps,rocks,or other hidden
objects.Uneventerraincouldoverturnthe machine.
Tallgrasscanhideobstacles.
3. Useslowspeed.Choosea lowenoughspeed
settingsothat youwill not haveto stopor shift while
ontheslope.Tiresmaylosetractiononslopeseven
thoughthebrakesarefunctioningproperly.Always

4. Followthemanufacturer'srecommendations for
wheelweightsor counterweightstoimprovestability.
5. Useextracarewithgrasscatchersor otherat-
tachments.Thesecanchangethestabilityof the
machine.
6. Keepall movementon theslopesslowand gradual.
Donot makesuddenchangesin speedor direction.
Rapidengagementor brakingcouldcausethefront
of themachineto lift and rapidlyflipoverbackwards
whichcouldcauseseriousinjury.
7. Avoidstartingor stoppingon a slope.If tireslose
traction,disengagetheblade(s)andproceedslowly
straightdowntheslope.
Do Not:
1. Donotturnon slopesunlessnecessary;then,turn
slowlyandgraduallydownhill,if possible.
2. Donot mownear drop-offs,ditchesor embankments.
Themowercouldsuddenlyturnoverif awheel is over
theedgeof a cliff, ditch,or if an edgecavesin.
3. Donottry tostabilizethemachineby puttingyourfoot
ontheground.
4. Donot usea grasscatcheronsteepslopes.
5. Donot mowonwet grass. Reducedtractioncould
causesliding.
6. Donot shifttoneutralandcoastdownhill.Over-speed-
ingmaycausetheoperatortolosecontrol of the
machineresultingin seriousinjuryor death.
7. Donottow heavypull behindattachments(e.g.loaded
dumpcart, lawnroller,etc.)on slopesgreaterthan
5 degrees.Whengoingdownhill,theextraweight
tendsto pushthetractorandmaycauseyoutoloose
control.(e.g. tractormayspeedup, brakingandsteer-
ingabilityarereduced,attachmentmayjack-knifeand
causetractortooverturn).
Towing:
1. Towonlywitha machinethat hasa hitchdesignedfor
towing.Donot attachtowedequipmentexceptat the
hitchpoint.
2. Followthemanufacturersrecommendationfor weight
limitsfor towedequipmentandtowingon slopes.
3. Neverallowchildrenor othersin or on towedequip-
ment.
4. Onslopes,theweightof thetowedequipmentmay
causelossof tractionandlossof control.
5. Travelslowlyandallowextradistancetostop.
6. Donot shifttoneutralandcoastdownhill.

Service
1. Neverrunanengineindoorsor ina poorlyventilated
area. Engineexhaustcontainscarbonmonoxide,an
odorless,anddeadlygas.
2. Beforecleaning,repairing,or inspecting,makecertain
theblade(s)andall movingpartshavestopped.
Disconnectthesparkplugwireandgroundagainstthe
engineto preventunintendedstarting.
3. Periodicallychecktomakesurethebladescometo
completestopwithinapproximately(5) fiveseconds
after operatingthebladedisengagement control.If the
bladesdo notstopwithinthethis timeframe,yourunit
shouldbe servicedprofessionallyby anauthorized
MTDServiceDealer.
4. Checkbrakeoperationfrequentlyas it is subjectedto
wearduringnormaloperation.Adjustand serviceas
required.
5. Checktheblade(s)andenginemountingboltsat
frequentintervalsfor propertightness.Also,visually
inspectblade(s)for damage(e.g.,excessivewear,
bent, cracked). Replacetheblade(s)withtheoriginal
equipmentmanufacturer's(O.E.M.)blade(s)only,
listedinthis manual."Useof partswhichdonot meet
theoriginalequipmentspecificationsmayleadto
improper performanceandcompromisesafety!"
6. Mowerbladesaresharp.Wrapthebladeor wear
gloves,anduseextracautionwhenservicingthem.
7. Keepall nuts, bolts,andscrewstight tobesurethe
equipmentis insafeworkingcondition.
8. Nevertamperwiththesafetyinterlocksystemor other
safetydevices.Checktheir properoperationregularly.
9. After strikingaforeignobject,stoptheengine,
disconnectthesparkplugwire(s)andgroundagainst
theengine.Thoroughlyinspectthemachinefor any
damage.Repairthedamagebeforestartingand
operating.
10.Neverattempttomakeadjustmentsor repairstothe
machinewhiletheengineisrunning.
11.Grasscatchercomponentsandthedischarge
coveraresubjecttowearanddamagewhichcould
exposemovingpartsor allowobjectstobethrown.

andreplaceimmediatelywithoriginalequipment

Attaching the Battery Cables
NOTE:Somemodelsareshippedwiththebatterycables
alreadyconnected.
NOTE:Thepositivebatteryterminalis markedPos. (+).
Thenegativebatteryterminalis markedNeg. (-).
Thepositivecable(heavyredwire) is securedtothe
positivebatteryterminal(+)witha hexbolt andhex
nut at thefactory.Makecertainthat the rubberboot
coverstheterminaltohelpprotectit fromcorrosion.
Removethehex boltand hexnut fromthenegative
cable.
Removetheblackplasticcover,ifpresent,fromthe
negativebatteryterminalandattachthenegative
cable(heavyblackwire)tothenegativebattery
terminal(-) withthebolt andnut.
NOTE:If the batteryis putintoserviceafter thedate
shownontop/sideof battery,chargethebatteryas
instructedin theMaintainingYour LawnTractorsectionof
thismanualpriortooperatingthetractor.
Gas and Oil Fill-up
Thegasolinetankis locatedunderthehoodandhasa
capacityof 1-1/2gallons.Donot overfill.
_ WARNING: Useextremecare when
handling gasoline. Gasolineis extremely
flammableand thevapors are explosive.
Never fuel machine indoors or while the
engine is hot or running. Extinguish ciga-
rettes, cigars, pipes, and other sources of
ignition.
Servicetheenginewithgasolineandoil as instructedin
theseparateEngineOperator/OwnerManualpackedwith
yourtractor.Readinstructionscarefully.
IMPORTANT: Yourtractorisshippedwith motoroil inthe
engine.However, youMUSTchecktheoil levelbefore
operating.Becareful nottooverfill.
Shipping Brace Removal
WARNING:Makesure theriding mower's
engine is off, removetheignition key,and
set theparking brakebefore removing the
shipping brace.

Locatetheshippingbrace,if present,andaccompany-
ing warningtagfoundon therightsideof themower,
betweenthedischargechuteand thecuttingdeck.
See Fig.3-2.
Whileholdingthedischargechutewithyourleft hand,
removetheshippingbracewithyour righthandby
graspingit betweenyour thumbandindexfingerand
rotatingit clockwise.
WARNING: Theshipping brace, used
for packaging purposes only, must be
removed and discarded before operating
your riding mower.
WARNING: Themowing deck is capable
of throwing objects. Failure to operatethe
riding mower without the discharge cover
in theproper operating position could
result in serious personal injury and/or
property damage.
Attaching The Steering Wheel
ifthesteeringwheelforyour tractordid notcome
attached,thehardwarefor attachingit hasbeenpacked
withinthesteeringwheel,beneaththe steeringwheel
cap. Carefullypry off thesteeringwheelcapand remove
thehardware.
1. With thewheels of the tractor pointingstraight
forward, placethesteeringwheeloverthesteering
shaft.
2. Placethewasher(withthecuppedsidedown)over
thesteeringshaftandsecurewiththehex bolt. See
Fig.3-3.
3. Placethesteeringwheelcapoverthecenterof the
steeringwheelandpushdownwarduntilit "clicks"into
place.
Attaching the Hood Scoop
(if so equipped)
If thehoodscoopwasnot securedtothe hoodof your
tractorat thefactory,youwillfindit ina plasticbag,
hangingfromthethrottlelever.
Toinstall:
1. Carefullypivot thetractor hoodforward.
2. Removethefourscrewsfromtheundersideof the
hoodscoop.

Lineup thefour holesin thehoodscoopwiththefour
holes visiblethroughthetractor'shoodIouvres.See
Figure3-4.
4. Whileholdingthescoopin place,usea 3/8" socket
wrench(or boxwrench)tocarefullytightenthescoop
ontothe hood.
DoNOTovertighten.

Throttle Control Lever
Thethrottlecontrol leverislocatedon therightsideof

Mulching
Selectmodelscomeequippedwitha mulchkit which
incorporates specialblades,alreadystandardonthe
tractor,ina processof recirculatinggrassclippings
repeatedlybeneaththecuttingdeck.Theultra-fine
clippingsarethenforcedbackintothe lawnwherethey
act as a naturalfertilizer.
Observethefollowingpointsfor thebest resultswhen
mulching:
Neverattempttomulchif thelawnisdamp.Wet grass
tendsto stickto theundersideof thecuttingdeck
preventingpropermulchingof theclippings.
DoNOTattempttomulchmorethan1/3thetotal
heightof thegrassor approximately1-1/2inches.
Doingsowillcausetheclippingstoclumpup beneath
thedeckand notbe mulchedeffectively.
Maintaina slowgroundspeedtoallowthegrass
clippingsmoretimeto effectivelybemulched.
Alwayspositionthethrottlecontrol leverintheFAST
(rabbit)positionandallowit to remaintherewhile
mowing.Failingtokeeptheengineat full throttle
placesstrainon thetractor'sengineand doesnot
allowthebladesto properlymulchgrass.

Side to Side
If thecuttingdeckappearsto bemowingunevenly,a side
tosideadjustmentcanbeperformed.Adjustif necessary
as follows:

androtatebothbladessothat theyareperpendicular
withthetractor.
2. Measurethedistancefromtheoutsideof theleft blade
tiptothegroundandthedistancefromtheoutsideof
therightbladetiptotheground.Bothmeasurements
takenshouldbeequal. If they'renot, proceedtothe
next step.
3. Loosen,butdo NOTremove,thehexcapscrewon
theleft deckhangerbracket.SeeFig. 5-2.
4. Balancethedeckby usingawrenchtoturnthe
adjustmentgear (foundimmediatelybehindthehex
capscrewjust loosened)clockwise/upor counter-
clockwise/down.Thedeckis properlybalancedwhen
bothbladetipmeasurementstakenearlierareequal.
5. Retightenthehex capscrewontheleft deckhanger
bracketwhenproperadjustmentis achieved.
Leveling the Deck

tractor,locatethehair pinclipthat securesthedeck
supportrodon therear left sideof thedeck.

Cleaning
Cleanthebatteryby removingit fromthetractorand
washingwitha bakingsodaandwater solution.If neces-
sary,scrapethebatteryterminalswitha wire brushto
removedeposits.Coatterminalsandexposedwiringwith
greaseor petroleumjelly to preventcorrosion.
Battery Failures
Somecommoncausesfor batteryfailureare:

These failures are NOTcovered by your tractor's
warranty.
Fuse
One20AMPfuseis installedin yourtractor'swiringhar-
nesstoprotectthetractor'selectricalsystemfromdamage
causedby excessiveamperage.
If theelectricalsystemdoes notfunction,or yourtractor's
enginewill notcrank,first checktobe certainthat thefuse
has notblown. It canbefoundunder thehoodmounted
behindthedashpanelon therightside.
_ WARNING:Always usea fuse with the
same amperagecapacity for replacement.

Cutting Blades

spark plug wire(s) and ground against
theengine toprevent unintended starting
beforeremoving thecutting blade(s) for
sharpening or replacement. Protect your
hands by usingheavy gloves or a rag to
grasp thecutting blade.
WARNING: Periodically inspect theblade
spindles for cracks or damage, especially
if you strike a foreign object. Replace
immediately if damaged.
Thebladesmayberemovedas follows.
1. Removethedeckfrombeneaththetractor,(referto
CuttingDeckRemovalon page23) thengentlyflip
thedeckovertoexposeitsunderside
2. Placea blockof woodbetweenthecenterdeckhous-
ingbaffleandthecuttingbladetoact as a stabilizer.

3. Removethe hexflangenutthat securesthebladeto
thespindleassembly.SeeFig.6-5.
4. Toproperlysharpenthecuttingblades,removeequal
amountsof metalfrombothends of thebladesalong
thecuttingedges,paralleltothetrailingedge,at a
250to300angle.
IMPORTANT:If thecuttingedgeof thebladehasalready
beensharpenedtowithin15/8" fromtheedge,or if any
metal separationis present,replacethebladeswith new
ones. SeeFig.6-6.
It is importantthat eachcuttingbladeedgebeground
equallyto maintainproperbladebalance
A poorlybalancedbladewill causeexcessive
vibrationand maycausedamagetothetractorand
result inpersonalinjury.Thebladecanbetestedby
balancingit ona roundshaftscrewdriver.Grindmetal
fromthe heavysideuntil it balancesevenly.
Whenreplacingtheblade,be suretoinstalltheblade
withthesideof theblademarked"Bottom" (or with
a part numberstampedinit) facingthegroundwhen
themoweris intheoperatingposition.
IMPORTANT:Usea torquewrenchtotightentheblade
spindlehexflangenutto between70foot-poundsand90
foot-pounds.

disengagingcompletely.Fora properworkingmachine,
usefactoryapprovedbelts.
Tochangeor replacethedeckbelt onyourtractor,
proceedas follows:
1. Lowerthedeckby movingthedeck lift leverintothe
bottomnotchonthe rightfender.
2. Removethe beltguardsby removingtheself-tapping
screwsthat fastenthemtothedeck.

Removethe beltkeeperrodfromaroundtheengine
pulley.
Onthe42-inchdeckonly, loosenbut do not remove,
theidler pulleynuts.Thiswill enablethebelt tobe
easilyremovedfromtheidler pulleys.SeeFig. 6-7on
thepreviouspage.

mower.InCalifornia,newlawnmowermust bedesigned,builtand equippedtomeet theState'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupInc must
warrantthe EECSon yourlawn mowerfor the periodof time listedbelowprovidedthere hasbeenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof your lawnmower.
Your EECSmayincludeparts suchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fuel tanks,fuel lines,fuel caps, valves,
canisters,filters,vapor hoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no cost to you includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrol systemis warrantedfor two years.If anyevaporativeemission-relatedpart on yourequipmentis defective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawn mowerowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelistedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthat youretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroup Inccannot denywarrantysolelyforthe lack of receipts.
Asthe lawn mowerowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydeny youwarrantycoverageif your lawnmoweror a part hasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect, or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawn mowertoMTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonas the problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountof time, not toexceed30 days. If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,youshould

GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantstothe ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmower is: Designed,built andequippedso as to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefrom defectsin materialsand workmanshipthat causethe failureof a warrantedpart to beidentical in all material
respectstothat part as describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate the lawnmoweris deliveredtoan ultimatepurchaseror first placed intoservice.Thewarrantyperiodis two years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsas statedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedparts is as follows:
1. Any warrantedpart that is not scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied, is warrantedfor thewarranty period
statedabove. Ifthe part fails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the part will be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4) below. Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Any warrantedpart that is scheduledonly for regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor thewarranty periodstatedabove.Any such
part repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Any warrantedpart that is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliedis warrantedforthe periodof time beforethe
first scheduledreplacementdatefor that part. If the partfails beforethe first scheduledreplacement,the part will be repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4) below.Any such part repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainderof the periodpriortothe
first scheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementof anywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationat no chargetotheowner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedat all of our distributioncentersthat arefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerowner will not bechargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc is liablefor damagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyof warrantedparts sufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Any replacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
not reducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10. Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are not exemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedparts bythe
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims. MTDConsumerGroup Incwill not be liabletowarrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementof anywarrantedpart otherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Inc demonstratesthat the lawnmowerhasbeenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse, neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseof the needfor repairor replacementof the part. That notwithstanding,anyadjustmentof a componentthathasa factory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis still eligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantyparts list arecovered: FuelLine,Fuel LineClamps

Noimpliedwarranty,includingany impliedwarranty of mer-

8. Durantelatotalidaddel periodode garanfiadela cortadorade cespedarriba mencionado,MTDConsumerGroupInc. mantendr_unsuministrode piezasbajo

9. Cualquierpiezade reemplazose podr&usarparael cumplimientodel mantenimientoo reparacionesbajogaranfia, y sesuministrar_sincargoparael
