ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Luggage Security System
Designed a luggage security system for preventing luggage items from being stolen or
lost during travel. Used UM3561 IC as the sound generator chip for the alarm and a BC
558 transistor to enable supply to the IC.

Design of AM transmitter on PCB
A dual DSBSC type AM transmitter was designed and realized on PCB.

Wireless Data transmission using DTMF and FM Trans-Receiver circuits
Developed a Transmission Reception system using the UM91214 and MT 8870 .
In the process, developed a much clearer understanding of FM Transmission and
Reception.

Modelled an RC Aircraft and built a GPS-guided autonomous robot which moves in a
pre-defined track consisting of vertices made up of GPS coordinates.
Worked on many projects using TIs MSP430 Microcontroller.

Automatic Shoe-cleaning machine
Designed and built a prototype of a shoe-cleaning machine. Used a shoe cleaning brush
in contact with the output shaft of a motor, and an exhaust fan to remove the dust and
stench generated by the shoe cleaning.
Development of LISP Interpreter and a queuing Network Simulator as part of Data
Structures course.

Won the Regional finals of Aqua Regia, an annual quiz contest conducted by T.I.M.E., in
Mysore 2008 and represented my school in the State finals.
Represented the school at Verbattle, a State-level inter-school debate competition,
twice; in 2007 and 2008, reaching the quarter-finals on one occasion.
Won a lot of literary events and English debates conducted within the school.
Was a part of the Dramatics Club in school and played lead roles in various English plays;
also actively participated in science exhibitions.
Presently a member of the Electronics Club, Robotics Club, and Astronomy Club at IIT
Ropar.
Was IIT Ropars Football representative from 2012-2013; helped organize Inter-hostel
football tournaments.
Was a part of the Sponsorship team for Zeitgeist 2011, the annual cultural festival of IIT
Ropar.
Won the Model International Companies (MIC) event at Zeitgeist 2011, where the
objective was to debate on the success or failure of a particular multinational
corporations business plan.
Was a part of the Enactus IIT Ropar organization from 2012-2013, and was involved in a
project to provide employment to rural women by creating a business plan for them.
The project was called Swavlambhan and our aim was to provide a market for the bhujia
(popular snack in India) made by these women and make the project self-sustained
eventually.
Participated in the Inter-IIT Sports meet for 3 consecutive years from 2011-2013 as part
of the institute football team and captained the side once. Was also a part of the Table
Tennis team in 2011.
