Comparatives:

Most adjectives with one syllable: - add 'er'

big = bigger than

cheap = cheaper than

fast = faster than

Adjectives with two syllables that end in 'y': - add 'ier'

easy = easier than

funny = funnier than

spicy = spicier than

Adjectives with two or more syllables: -add 'more...than'

expensive = more expensive than

beautiful = more beautiful than

interesting = more interesting tan


Example dialogue 1 - Bangkok and Chiang Mai

A: Where are you from?

B: I'm from Chiang Mai.

A: Do you like Chiang Mai better than Bangkok?

B: I think that Chiang Mai is better than Bangkok, because Chiang Mai is more
beautiful.

A: I don't think so. Bangkok is better than Chiang Mai, because there are more things
to do. It's also bigger than Chiang Mai.

B: Yes, I agree. It's bigger, but Chiang Mai is cheaper than Bangkok.

A: I don't agree. Bangkok is very cheap. It's also more interesting than Chiang Mai.

B: I drive my BMW.

A: Really? What do you think about BMW?

comfortable than your BMW.

Como se puede notar el grado positivo no presenta dificultad alguna, mientras quelos grados comparativos y superlativos
contienen ciertas diferencias entre si, las cuales sern aclaradas a continuacin:

REGLAS ADJETIVOS COMPARATIVOS Y SUPERLATIVOS

1. La mayora de los adjetivos que contienen solo una silaba pueden aadirse al final las letras "er" o "est" ya
sean para comparativos o superlativos respectivamente.

Pero cuando los adjetivos terminan en la letra "e" solo se aade las letras "r" o "st" para comparativos y
superlativos respectivamente. Adems que los superlativos siempre usan la palabra "the" antes del sustantivo.

y superlativos respectivamente. Pero la letra "y" debe ser cambiada por la letra "i".
