candidate establishes, communicates,

Instruction Comments:
The lessons was on 3D shapes and if they
would roll/slide/ stack.
Students were put into groups of four.
Students were given expectations before
they began the group work.
Students used shapes to explore.

Teacher helped groups that were having
problems.

"I love how hard this group is working."
"That's why you need to work together."
Students were very engaged in testing the
shapes.

Teacher was positive - "Thanks you for
putting them back in the bucket."
"I saw you working really hard with your
groups. I need you to tell me why each
shape will roll, slide, or stack. I also need
you to tell me why they want do those
things."

GREAT use of HIGH LEVELED
questions: " What shape is this? What can
it do? How do you know that it can roll?
What does it have that lets the cone slide?
Why can the sphere roll but it cannot slide?
Was there a shape that could do all three
things? Why could it do all three things?"
