MARKET SHARES OF PASSENGER AIRLINES IN INDIA

15
CONCLUSION
Indian Airlines, mostly used by government employees, recorded the highest usage followed by
Jet Airways. Although most consumers rated Jet Airways high on price, it still ranks second in
usage and this could be attributed to its excellent service and promotion schemes. Similar data
for the entire population reflects a higher usage of Jet Airways than IA. A majority the population
flies relatively infrequently (as compared to the developed markets). Passengers travelling on
business were found to be more frequent users, while those flying on holidays and
emergencies were those that tended to make up the segment that flew less than once a year.

The two airlines are giving various services to attract the customers. There is a very top
competition between these two airlines.
