Prof Caroline Taylor re Workshop on Child Sexual Abuse
What has happened has left many of us with feelings of despair and confusion,
feelings that impact on our emotions and our faith. How do we channel these feelings
into positive actions that empower rather than defeat? Prof Caroline Taylor is giving
a workshop at 11.00am Wednesday 28th May in St Josephs Hall around these issues
Professor Taylor is also giving a Seminar for the SouthWest Victorian Branch of
Australian Psychologists this Tuesday, 6.30pm at Southwest TAFE. Registration is
essential. More information in Gathering Space.

Asylum Seekers: We have been involved in many ways with asylum seekers. Some
of us have detention centres close to home. We have worked hard to ensure that
asylum seekers receive proper pastoral care and human assistance. We now make this
urgent plea for a respect for the rights of asylum seekers, not only in government
circles but in the Australian community more broadly. The current policy has about it
a cruelty that does no honour to our nation. (An extract from a Statement by the
Australian Catholic Bishops).
The Full Statement and a Statement from the National Council of Priests available
in Gathering Space.
Also available is the brochure I was a stranger and you welcomed me: What the
Catholic Church teaches on Asylum and Migration.
