INTRODUCTION
Domestic violence is one of the most serious social issues in New Zealand. According to New Zealand Domestic
violence statistics, domestic violence occurs every 6 minutes in New Zealand and at least 74,785 children are under it
(Fanslow,2004).New Zealand Domestic violence system is such a security tool whose purpose is to help and rescue
those who have suffered from domestic violence. However in order to receive the help from the police, victims still
need to wait until actual help comes and in many cases a second is long enough to cause the loss of a life. NZDV a new
technology would eliminate busy phone lines and help pointing out the accurate location of violence scene, which
allows people to finally receive their salvation as soon as possible. As a result, reports for domestic violence will
increase leading to the decrease of the rate of domestic violence.
3. BUSINESS SECTION
3.1 Vision


This system focus on providing customers the easiest and convenient way to get through the police, accompany with the
quality, speed of response and professionalism. Provide life safety and the hopes for a better tomorrow to domestic
violence people in New Zealand.
3.2 Industry Analysis: New Zealand electronic security Industry
Industry: New Zealand electronic security Industry. Because its aim is to quickly report domestic violence and provide
better opportunity in identify location easily. Therefore NZDV is a police alarm and location identification system which
belongs to electronic security industry.
Force: High/Low: Justification:
Buyer power: High Buyer Power is high as there are still
many alternatives clients can be chose.
For example, ADT, ISS and NZ alarmshop
these are all security industries which
combine kinds of features to prevent
people from danger(Hamilton,2011).
Wide range of people still insist using
mobile phone to contact polices.


Supplier power: Low Our main suppliers will be the
companies who can produce NZDV
buttons, outside alarm and create
system that connection to the police.
Meanwhile there are a few companies
who can handle these well. For example
in china there are ten thousand
company who can produce switch and
button.(baike,2013) Thus the supplier
power is low as we have many choices
to choose from.
Threat of new
entrants:
High Threat of new entrants is low because
the barriers to this industry are
considerably high due to presence of
large competitors and intensive capital
investment and very strong and
thoughtful strategy. Manager of SIGMU

establish and develop their security

Threat of substitutes: High There is no actual substitutes for this
system other than call polices. Even
though there are some security systems
in the market only our business focus on
domestic violence electronic security
system.

existing competitors:
High Rivalry among existing competitors is
fierce as there are many strong
competitors who have enough power to
copy and quickly implement
competitors strategies. Such
competitors like Tyco International,
UTCFire & Secure(Sales Group,2013).
Those companies have stronger


potential maintain high loyalty among
their customers.
Overall attractiveness of the industry: According to the Porters Five Forces Model, it indicates that this industry is not
very attractive. As the buyers have several alternatives to choose, rivalry among competitors is fierce and threat of new
entrants is low due to the high barriers. However if business with sufficient investments and well planned strategies, this
product will worth all efforts and generate good profits in the foreseeable future.
3.3 Customers and Their Needs
The target customer essentially would be those people who think their spouse have propensity for violence and people
who affected by domestic violence already and want to avoid this by using new technology.
The needs of customers are crucial -they have a desire to improve the safety for their life. They want prevent themselves
from domestic violence in the future. Therefore, they want quick responses from the police once they are in troubles, and
want to get help as soon as possible(Lisa,n.d.)
3.4 The Product and Service


The product is an electronic security system which provides a better chance for people to receive polices assistance in
domestic violence situations quickly. NZDV dedicate to increase the reports for domestic violence and decrease the rate
for domestic violence.
The system is to be implemented combine the connection with police centre. When domestic violence occurs, people who
need help from the police can push the button. At the meantime, the system on the police side will point out the location
where you are and come to your house immediately.
3.5 Suppliers and Partners
Right now there are two main companies supplying NZDV. One of our main suppliers would be companies who produce
NZDV button and create alarm system. NKK is such a company whose common products is different kinds of switches and
pushbuttons .(NKK switch,2013) Another suppier should be a business who work well in designing the security
system.SecurityInfoWatch is good at system design which also one of the suppliers of AT&T. (SecurityInfoWatch,2013)
Our patners will belong to the security systems industry and govermental elemets,for example ADT and police stations in
New Zealand. Mostly the government will support and sponsor this project to ensure that system is fully integrated in
peoples daily life and provides safer environment which with rare domestic violence.
3.6 Strategy


Focused High Cost strategy will be implemented for this project. We have chosen focused high cost strategy as our project
is quite ambitious and contains an innovative approach of using completely new technology to solve the problem. This
will provide an effective competitive advantage and gives a first mover advantage as were going to be the first who have
used technology with such aim.
For the competitive scope, this system focus on report domestic violence that occur in house. So our project targets range
of people who want to secure their lives and defend themselves from domestic violence. Although the installation cost
might be high, people would like to invest more in their own safety as the life itself is the most valued gift a person owns.
Therefore cost strategy is high cost and generic strategy is focused high cost.
3.7 Value Chain Activity
The most important value chain activity for the business is service after the sale. Once system installed, we should
update the system and provide constant system check and maintenance regularly to ensure it is accurate, so that our
customers could find it convenient to use. It is very crucial as lack of service after the sale will result in system failure and
people will no longer to trust it and turn to competitors. Designing this system is essential to ensure that our system works
effectively and accurately and contribute to decrease the rate of domestic violence.

customers. By knowing customers requirements and objections, we are able to improve our systems effectively and
efficiently. In that way, NZDV system can work accurately.

3.8.2. Maintenance and Repair Processing Process
Once the system is installed, it requires maintence and repair services. At first we needed is to prepare an appropriate
schedule for maintenance. The second purpose is to provide repair service for both button and system devices. After the
devices repaired, technicist can plan the future repairment in order to ensure the system is fully functional.

In this system, customers details and their feedbacks will be recorded. Once we got complaints from customers, we will
record the information and send it to our technicst .With customers feedbacks, the system will manage the information
and provide suggestions whether we need futher improvement in providing services.





3.10.2. Production Developing System
The purpose of this system is to analyse the information from consumer feedback and decide which part of production
should be developed. This system provides the opportunities to improve the production and maintain businesss
competitive advantage. Testing the updated production helps manager decide future market strategies.
3.10.3. Maintenance and Repair management system
The system allows company to schedule maintenance on frequent basis. Once maintenace is scheduled, a team of
qualified technicians will come to the client to check the networking system and equipments regularly. In case, if there is
minor failures of the equipment, the inspection team will provide repair service to ensur the system work as soon as
possible.

CONCLUSION
NZDV is a electronic security system which focus on reporting domestic
violence and extend to reporting dangers to the police in the future.Although
at first growthing stage NZDV will face challenges from market , action as
select supplier and partner to provied best service, ensure the system works
consistently and gain trust from consumer is significant for business. With the
helps from internal system like consumer communication management system
NZDV will develop and contribute to decrease the rate of domestic violence
extremely. Provide saftey living envioronment which is wihout domestic
violence to every one who use NZDV is our goal.
