It was established to meet the growing demand for engineering talent. The foundaton stone of the college was laid on 17th September 1961 by Shri.Y.B.Chavan (the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra who later became the Defence Minister of India.) The college was inagurated by the frst Prime Minister of Independent India,Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1962.The college is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,an eminent naton builder of independent India. The college is autonomous and afliated to the University of Mumbai for the full-tme degree and post graduate degree courses. The insttute has set high standards for aspiring engineering students and also meets the need of quality educaton in the challenging world of business. Over the last 50 years the college has gained an excellent reputaton in the feld of Technical Educaton. SPCE is one of the few colleges that have received Grade A+ ratng for its aided courses from the Govt. of Maharashtra which certfes the spirit of excellence that the insttute has symbolized and always practced. Insttute celebrated its golden jubilee in the year 2012. SARDAR PATEL COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING THE ADVANCED PRESSURE VESSEL DESIGN AND ANALYSIS WORKSHOP LARSEN & TOUBRO HEAVY ENGINEERING DIVISION WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE COURSE COURSE FEES & VENUE Why the training? SPCE has identfed the gap between the basic theoretcal knowledge of process equipment design and its implementaton to the practcal challenges faced by the working professionals. We have thus made this unique training course which imparts the practcal experience of handling real life complexites of the design and analysis of pressure vessels. The current pressure vessel design techniques have signifcantly progressed beyond the conventonal design by rule methods due to ever rising pressure and temperature profles of modern process equipment. Objectves The objectve of this training course is to add skills to grasp the multplex operatng interplay of geometry, material and loading conditons encountered by present-day pressure vessels. The course emphasises on step-by-step learning of the techniques to analyse the design for each of the operatng situaton separately. The course is tailored along the directves laid by the current editon of ASME Secton VIII Division 2 and PrEN 13445 codes which heavily bank on advanced numerical analysis methods such as fnite element analysis (FEA) for ensuring safety and reliability of equipment. Scope Overall the course will cover stress linearizaton technique, elastc analysis, limit load calculatons, elastc-plastc evaluatons, protecton against buckling and fatgue assessment of pressure vessels and its components. Many advanced calculaton procedures such as fange design, vibraton study, wind and seismic resistng capacity, support skirt and saddle design, local load analysis shall be discussed with practcal examples. Signifcance The training course stresses upon hands-on experience by the partcipants during the learning process. The course is interspersed with many illustratve numerical examples, sample analyses and processing of results coupled with sufcient theoretcal background of the subject. The partcipants will get opportunity to practce themselves and gain confdence with exercises modelled closely to practcal scenarios. This course is must for all engineers aspiring to be or already involved in engineering of process equipment for petrochemical, oil and gas, energy and other allied industry sectors. Engineering graduates and post-graduates (B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical, Producton, Chemical and Petrochemical), Final year B.E. students who are aiming careers in core engineering sector, Professionals in Design, Manufacturing or Operatons of Process Industry & Faculty members. The fees includes Course Material, Media DVD & Working Lunch. Sponsored Candidates /Industry Professionals: Rs.15,000 /- Faculty Members : Rs. 7,500 /- ( For Non-TEQIP College) & Rs. 10,000 /- (For TEQIP College) Students : Rs.5,000 /- Registraton fees should be drawn in the favor of The Principal, SPCE. VENUE: SEMINAR HALL (ROOM NO-114), Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Bhavans Campus, J.P. Road, Andheri (West), Mumbai- 400 058, MH. Accomodaton available on frst-cum-frst serve basis. For Accomodaton, please add Rs.2500 /- in your Course fees and prepare DD with accomodaton fees added to it.
