THE INTERACTIVE E-BOOK APP REPORT
INTRODUCTION
Did you know that literacy rates are a big problem around the world? The article of The
literacy rates problem clearly states that about one out of five read at the 5
th
grade level
and below, especially for older Americans that are 65 years and above show almost two out
of five read below the 5
th
grade. Low literacy rates are unacceptable, it affects their
healthcare, and those with low literacy rates get sick due to lack of understanding. Low
literacy rates limits peoples ability to function in life and society in their ever day life. These
are some of the problems that I have shown, to solve this problem I have created an
Application that everyone one can use at any age, the interactive E-book App, this App is the
perfect solution to improve literacy rates around the world, this App will contain moving
pictures and make reading more interesting it will have colours so that it can be easily
interacted and understandable to people that are struggling, this would be effective for kids
, it would also be useful for older people in our society as this App would eventually improve
literacy rates.

BUSINESS SECTION
Vision
To be the most creative and interactive application product that will encourage and
motivate people to the ultimate reading experience worldwide.

Industry Analysis: The E-Book Industry
Industry: The E-Book Industry
Force: High/Low: Justification:
Buyer power: Low The buyer power is low because we see that
there is not many competitors out there, buyers

3

3
dont have a lot of options to choose from, Since
the buyers have fewer choices of whom to buy
from, in this case the buyer power will be low.
Since there is not many options for customers to
choose from this industry can be highly attractive
as this App gets promoted and advertised, and it
will be very cheap as this would be more
attracting to customers.
Supplier power: High The supply power is high because we see that
when buyers have few choices of whom to buy
from supply power states that it is high, in this
case there is not a lot of options to choose from,
thus supply power is high.
Threat of new entrants: High
This could be high, as we see that entering in this
type of market does not cost too much money to
invest, anyone or any business could compete in
this market as there is not many entry barriers.
Since its easy for new competitors to compete in
this market it means that it will be a challenge for
the Interactive E-Book App to compete, due to
the fact of new entrants will want to obtain
market share which will eventually put pressure
on prices on costs.

Threat of substitutes: Low Threat of substitutes will be low as there are only
few or less alternatives to a product or a service,
There is only a few alternative to replace the
interactive e book app, such as an English book
study guide. Therefore this would be low
Rivalry among existing
competitors:
Low The Rivalry will be less competitive in this market
so therefore it would be low, which means that

4

4
this would result in a higher profitable industry as
there is not many competetors out there that will
compete within this market, Due to less
competitors out there thus competition is
complacent, this could increase the attractiveness
of this industry and growth.
Overall attractiveness of the industry: Overall the atrractiveness for this industry is farily
attractive, this industy will be profitable beacause theres no competitors out there, hence
there is no competition between different industries, less competitive, thus it will be harder
for this industry to lose customers, also customers dont have many choices to select
besides this product, making this a profitable industry.
3.3 Customers and Thei r Needs
This Interactive E-book app will be targeting all types of customers including children, adults
and elderly people. Literacy rates must be improved, unemployment is a cause due to low
literacy rates and people get sick because of this problem. This is an issue because the
article the effects of literacy states that 12 percent of the adults in American population
cant read a document at all, this is crucial because it also affects children, will not be
educated properly. These limitations affect people; it would affect the ability to adapt
around different environments, social life. Overall the Interactive E-Book App will target all
types of customers at any age level, this is significantly needed to help the society to be
more interactive and have more educated people, which would benefit the country and
their family.
3.4 The Product and Service
The product Interactive E-Book Application that will be easier to be accessible, you dont
have to go out and buy it from the shop, doesnt consume a lot of time. Nowadays people
dont like to wait for a long time, this will satisfy all the customers needs, it will improve the
literacy rates it will include; sounds, moving pictures, colours and will be interesting and will
make reading more fun and easier to understand for the customers. This App will be
attractive and make it addicting for customers and will help improve literacy skills. If this

to function in their everyday lives, communicating with others will be much easier. This
application will successfully satisfy the needs for the families and the country.
