Siwon

In Siwons opinion, being Kyuhyuns friend is definitely not easy.

Not that there is anything wrong with Kyuhyun. The younger boy is the
most wonderful, perfect human being Siwon has ever meteven if he is
only a six-year-old kid.

Its the people around Kyuhyun.

Siwon begins his usual morning routine waiting in front of Kyuhyuns house
with his stuffed-horse backpack, ready for school. Kyuhyun will get out and
meet him five, ten, fifteen minutes later, depending on how late he wakes
up. But Siwon does not mind waiting. The bright, slightly abashed smile
Kyuhyun wears is all he wants in return.

The only problem is, this all happens under Kyuhyuns uncles glare. The
man always watches him suspiciously from the doorstep (where he hugs
and kisses Kyuhyun until the younger boy complains and wriggles free).

And there is also Mr. Choi, their teacher at school, who seems to make it his
business to keep them separated. Siwons desk is at the back of the
classroom while Kyuhyuns is at the opposite side, directly in front of the
teachers desk. They are also assigned to different groups, given different
exercises, and for one reason and another, simply have no chance to speak
with each other.

Even during school breaks. Because Siwons handsome, popular cousin
from the third grade will always come in and monopolise him the whole
time. And Siwon will be forced to watch him from the opposite corner
because his cousin will scowl at him every time he as much as tries to come
near them.

But for Siwon its all okay. Because after all, Kyuhyun still calls him his
friend.

And he still gets to hold Kyuhyun's hand every morning and afternoon when
they walk to and from school :^)
Masi

He gains his nickname because he is like a horse. Or more like a wild,
uncontrollable horse, living in a fast lane with his motorbike, never thinking
twice before punching someone, and taking pride in being feared by
everyone including his own bike gang members. Even one glare from him is
enough to either send people running off or make them wet their pants.

No one has been able to tame himthat is, until Kyuhyun came along.

Back then, a swerving car caused him to take too fast of a turn and forced
him to take a breather in an adjacent park because damn it, his feet refused
to take him further and he couldnt leave his messed up girl (bike) behind. It
was Sunday morning and every single person in the park wisely chose to
keep their distance from him and, understandably, not even bothered to
call an ambulance.

Not that he needed one. He just needed to take a little rest to get rid of this
headache and

Are you hurt?

He raised his eyes to find a round ball the size of a kid in front of him. No,
not a round ball he shook his unfocused eyes and took another look. It
was a little plump kid, probably around six years old, a handkerchief on his
open palm and a wide smile on his face.

Here, you can borrow mine. The boys eyes roamed all over his wounded
body worriedly. Youre a big boy, so you cannot cry, ok?

Do I look like Im crying, brat!? he found himself snapping in an
automated response and instantly regretted it, because the boy flinched
until the handkerchief fell onto the ground. He could feel the judgmental-
slash-anxious stare from the people around them, fearing the poor kids
fate in the face of a crook like him.

Yet, at the moment, all he cared about was how to return the smile to the
boys face.

He bent down, ignoring the sharp pain that shot through his back, and
picked the handkerchief up before hesitatingly returning it to the boy, who
stopped trembling and began looking up at him in confusion. Geez, that
was too much of a remorseful gesture for Masi in his whole lifetime
already

But the boy blinked, you need it.

I dont need it!

The boy flinched again and Masi quickly did the one thing he hadnt done
for years. He apologized. S-sorry, I didnt mean to yell at you. I
Frustrated, he scratched his head and winced when he accidentally touched
the scratch there.

Its alright, the boy shook his head, the huge smile already back on his
face, and pressed the handkerchief to Masis hand. Here.

But

Im sorry I cant give it to you because its a gift from my friend. But you
can return it to me later when youre healthy again. My names

KYUHYUN!

The boyapparently named Kyuhyunturned and beamed at the sight of a
slightly older boy running towards him with a cotton candy in each hand.
Where have you been? I was worried when I returned to the swings and
you werent there

Sorry, Siwon. This uncle

Names Masi, Masi cut in with a frown because really, he wasnt even
twenty.

Kyuhyun just giggled. Masi got hurt so I had to help him.

The Siwon boy turned to him and widened his eyes, obviously due to his
appearance rather than his injuries. He stepped forward to stand between
Kyuhyun and Masi, as if shielding the little boy.

Masi decided that he didnt like this brat. Not at all.

Erm, Siwon?

I think hes fine now, Kyuhyun, Siwon stood as tall as he could and handed
one cotton candy to Kyuhyun. Lets go back to the swings, alright?

Okay, Kyuhyun nodded happily and quickly made a mess around his
mouth as he began to dig into his cotton candy. Oh, I let Masi borrow the
handkerchief you gave me

Masi watched Siwons face fall and he vowed not to return the handkerchief
ever

but he will come to this park again after hes all healthy and return it to
me! Right, Masi?

To you, Masi coughed, irrationally looking forward to seeing the plump
boy again. Of course... Kyuhyun.

Alright, see you later, Masi! Lets go, Siwon! Kyuhyun ran toward the
swing, dragging Siwon behind him. Masi stayed and watched Kyuhyun
played (in his field of vision, there was only Kyuhyun in the park) for some
time until a troubled parent called the police and forced him to left his bike
(girl) running.
Uncle Andrew

No. I cant go to London next week I dont care that its an important
deal, my prior engagement is more important than anything else! If those
guys dont want to sign the contract, well just look for another company!

With that, he hangs up and throws the phone. Just then, he catches a
movement from the corner of his eyes. He smiles when he realizes that his
little angel was eavesdropping from behind the wall.

I can see you, Kyuhyun. Come on in, he calls out gently.

Slowly, Kyuhyun tilts his head to peek in before stepping inside the study
with small steps. Uncle Andrew Are you gonna leave next week?

Of course not. You heard me, right? Our plan is waaaay more important.
Andrew chuckles when Kyuhyuns face brightens considerably. Alright,
arent you gonna give me a welcome hug? He opens his arms and Kyuhyun
jumps into his embrace eagerly, having missed his dearest uncle after a
two-day business trip.

Andrew has never stopped being thankful for Kyuhyun, the little boy who
makes working hard worth it and gives him a reason to come home. They
arent really blood-relatedKyuhyun is the son from the first marriage of
his sister-in-laws cousins brother-in-law. But he met Kyuhyun once when
he was not more than two years old, and his name was the first word that
came out of the toddlers mouth. When he heard that the boys parents
had died in a car crash, grandparents long gone, Andrew made a prompt
decision to return from the Head Office in New York and adopted Kyuhyun.
He never regrets it even once.

Have you decided where do you wanna go next week? Andrew pulls
Kyuhyun into his lap and the boy makes himself comfortable before
snuggling against his uncle.

Can we go to Everland? Please please please please?

Sure! I promised that Id take you wherever you wanted, right? Its your
birthday after all.

Can Siwon come with us?

Andrews smile is gone in a flash. That boy again. That annoying boy who
lives a few houses down the block. Kyuhyun has been calling him his best
friend for months now, but for some reason, Andrew cannot find it in his
heart to trust Siwon, no matter how polite and well-mannered the boy
appears to be.

Probably the same reason why he cannot trust a lot of people around
Kyuhyun like Shiyuan, Siwons cousin from China, and Mr. Choi, Kyuhyuns
homeroom teacher. Masi, that ruthless brute from a neighboring town is in
a whole different league, with his loud bike and tattoos and the guts to
show up on his doorstep asking to meet Kyuhyun because apparently he
was hurt and needed to borrow Kyuhyuns handkerchief. Not to mention
that incident with that prince from a small-but-rich island kingdom offshore
South Korea. Andrew has invited him for a house-meeting to talk about yet
another important deal. If he had known that Lee Mongryong would
propose to the (for Gods sake) five-year-old Kyuhyun just like that

Uncle Andrew, can Siwon come? Kyuhyun, who nearly became the bride
of an irresponsible prince, tugs at his shirt, demanding for an answer.

Doesnt he have any other plan? Andrew says, suppressing the dislike in
his voice.

No, he said he also wanted to celebrate my birthday.

Cant he celebrate the day after?

Kyuhyun looks down in disappointment. That, of course, is enough to break
Andrews heart and change his mind.

I was kidding. Of course he could come, Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun snaps his head up and grins. Really??

Yeah, sure. As long as youre happy.

Kyuhyun squeals and kisses his uncles cheek, who in return kisses the boy
all over his face until he protests and whines how his face is all wet. Oh
well, as long as Kyuhyun is happy, Andrew can bear spending a day with
Siwon. Didnt he read once that kids got kidnapped a lot in theme parks?
Maybe someone will kidnap Siwon
Shiyuan

Shiyuan hates Siwon because his cousin is always around Kyuhyun.
Kyuhyunthe chubby boy who is so cute, witty, kind-hearted and smart
easily captures his heart.

Months ago, when his parents told him that they would spend the holiday
in South Korea and he would meet Siwon, his younger-by-two-years cousin,
he was so excited. They easily clicked, sharing similar interests in sports,
especially martial arts and basketball, music and books. Getting along well
was not a problem at all.

Until Kyuhyun knocked on Siwons door and Shiyuans eyes landed on the
younger boy. He found Siwon's neighbor breathtaking, beautiful, and
angelic. It was definitely love at first sight. He just couldnt take his eyes off
Kyuhyun.

When his parents told him that they would return to Beijing, he refused. He
argued that he wanted to study with Siwon in Seoul. He even went on a
hunger strike for six hours before his parents finally gave in and politely
asked Siwon's parents to allow him live under the same roof.

Shiyuans heaven is Siwons hell. His Chinese cousin has begun to dominate
Kyuhyun and the younger boy seems oblivious to Siwon's jealousy.

But even after being forced to play or study with Shiyuan, at the end of the
day Kyuhyun always looks for Siwon. Kyuhyun is always nice to Shiyuan but
never kisses his cheek. Kyuhyun only kisses Siwonnot even his other close
friends like Changmin, Jonghyun and Minho. And that makes Shiyuan angry
and becomes rude to his cousin. He feels guilty because Siwon never says a
thing, never fights back. His heart hurts.

Every morning, Shiyuan has to witness Kyuhyuns twinkling eyes and bright
smile whenever the younger boy stops by in front of Siwons house before
they walk to school together.

But it is all worth it. As long as he sees Kyuhyun smile, it is more than
enough for Shiyuan, although that smile is directed to his cousin....
Mr. Choi

I hate my job.

I once read: People who teach are the ones who are too incompetent to do
anything else.

I cannot agree more. Ive always been a mediocre. Ever since Im a student,
I never had a dream of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I just went with
the flow, followed wherever the currents take me, and here I am now
teaching first graders in this elementary school.

I don't even like kids. They are so whiny, loud, and annoying.

But I have my own way to make this job more bearable. I always have a
favorite student: the most beautiful, well-behaved, and intelligent student
in class. This special one will be seated at the desk right in front of mine.

For example, in the last semester, my favorite was Victoria. She was so
beautiful and had a cute accent because she was originally from China.

This year, its Kyuhyun. I never chose a male student before as my favorite,
but Kyuhyun is an exception. The boy is just too adorable with his white
skin, pink chubby cheeks, big puppy eyes and fluffy hair. He is smart too;
hes younger than all his classmates because he skipped a year in the
kindergarten.

Please don't get me wrong and think that Im a pedophile. It's not like I'm
sexually attracted to these kids or has weird fantasies about them (...well,
maybe sometimes)

NO. Damn it! NO. I'm NOT a pedophile! I'm Just A Normal Guy. I Like
Women. And i watch porn, normal porn.

Like I said before, this is just a way so I can make my days pass in this
hateful job of mine more easily. I think I have a right to have a favorite
student among all these little brats.

The saying that teachers shouldn't have favoritism is downright bullshit.

Speaking of which, where is Kyuhyun? He usually comes into class right
about nowfive minutes before class starts. Ah, here he comes, my angel.
And like always, hand in hand with the little devil, Siwon.

I hate that boy. Just because they are neighbors Kyuhyun always goes to
school and home together with Siwon. I know they are close friends
because Kyuhyun often talks about him, but as long as they are both in my
class, I'll do everything in my power to separate them.

"Good morning, Mr. Choi!" greet the two boys.

"Good morning Kyuhyun. Siwon, go to your desk in the back."

"Yes, sir." Siwon goes to his desk with his head down and shoulder slumped.

"Umm Mr. Choi, can't Siwon sit next to me?"

"No he can't. I put Siwon at the back because he is the tallest in our class; if
he sits next to you in front of the class, dont you think he'll block the view
of all the students behind him?"

"I guess so..."

"Don't you worry about him, he's fine. Now Kyuhyun, have you done your
homework?"

"Yes, sir, I have done all my homework. Siwon and I made it together in my
house yesterday."

I frown upon hearing that. "Together? Did he copy your homework?"

"No, Mr. Choi, he didn't. He helped me with Science, I helped him with
Math, and we finished our homework together."

Kyuhyun opens his mouth again about to say something when the bell
rings. He closes his mouth and sits nicely in his chair, ready to study. The
class starts and continues with no minor or major incidents happening.

Only seconds after the bell rings for first-period break, theres a boy from
the third grade storming through the door into the class and
screams: "KYUHYUN!"

Here comes another little devil. Its Shiyuan, Siwons cousin from China. He
is even worse than Siwonat least Siwon has mannerbut this boy is just
rude, annoying, and he always tries to monopolize Kyuhyun.

"Come, Kyuhyun, I want to show you something."

Shiyuan grabs Kyuhyuns hand and drags him out of class.

Siwon and Mr.Choi can only watch their departure and sigh.

It's just another day in Apgujeong Elementary School.

Won Dambi

Children love him but the adults despise him. He can easily be spotted in
front of the school compound in Apgeojung, selling popsicles and ice cream
in a cart. Most of the time, he is wearing his bling bling blue mini dress, put
on a long blonde wig and a pair of silver high heels. Oh, the reason why the
adults hate him? He still keeps his moustache and that makes him look
really weird.

But the children love him because he is really generous, giving them an
extra scoop of ice cream, extra toppings, or even an extra popsicle. And he
loves children very much, especially one little boy who is so chubby that
everyone wants to pinch his cheek but also very smart that all his words
make the world brighter.

Uncle Dambi that particular boy shouts at him.

Kyuhyun Won Dambi, the popsicle-and-ice-cream seller crouches,
opening up his arms to welcome the chubby boy in his arms.

How are you Kyuhyun? Have you done your homework?

Kyuhyun just tsk-s him. No homework for kindergarten students. You are
so eager to stress me with schoolwork.

And they both giggle. Then a taller boy approaches, a frown visible on his
forehead. He nudges Kyuhyuns side and the boy turns around, flashing his
cute smile.

Hi Siwon! Good morning, and he kisses the boys cheek. Do you want
some ice cream?

Were not supposed to have ice cream in the morning Kyu, that Siwon boy
replies.

Dambi observes the two boys. If Kyuhyun is bubbly and cheerful, Siwon is
all serious. The older boy is very protective of Kyuhyun and Dambi
sometimes thinks that its not the right time yet for kids of their age to be
involved in that sort of relationship.

Being a crossdresser, Dambi has always been scolded by the society. If he is
lucky, he can survive in a week without being beaten up by thugs. But he
keeps doing what he does because that is the only way he can see Kyuhyun
every day, except during weekends. He hates weekends and school holidays
because Kyuhyun will not come to school.

The chubby boy may not do much, but he is the first childin fact the first
personwho approached him when others were afraid of him, when they
mocked him. Kyuhyun came and started talking with no hesitation or fear.

Are you a man? Why are you wearing a dress? Do you have peepee? I do
have one, but mine is small. Is yours big? But I still dont understand why
you are wearing a dress. Dont you have any jeans or trousers? Are you
poor?

Instead of feeling insulted, Dambi found the boy cute. He smiled and
replied to those questions one by one, except on the peepee thing. That is
still an issue he needs to keep away from the curious Kyuhyun.

Starting from that day, Kyuhyun always takes his friends to buy an ice cream
or a popsicle every day. Dambi learns to remember their names one by one.
Besides the possessive Siwon, Kyuhyun is always surrounded by a tall skinny
boy called Changmin, a tall handsome boy named Jonghyun and a tall hyper
boy Minho.

And Dambi becomes a silent guardian for Kyuhyun from Monday to Friday.
Because the boys simple gesture of friendship makes him realize that even
though he is often deemed as the societys enemy, there is someone who
will sincerely take his side.
Kim Jun-Ho

Kim Jun-ho would have become an elite spy in the National Anti-Terror
Service if only he had pulled the trigger two seconds later. It was a short
span of time but it made a big difference in his career. He took aim at the
kidnapper's head but he miscalculated everything. His bullet hit the hostage
instead and killed her instantly. If only he had waited for two seconds until
she had moved her head to another direction, it would have been a
different story.

But now here he is, being demoted from an elite unit of the police force
into a nobody in the traffic police division. He no longer holds rifles and
pistols. His weapons are a whistle and a STOP board sign. His job is to
help children cross the street in front of a school in Apgujeong.

It is not easy to deal with the guilt, knowing he accidentally took someone's
life. That is the reason why he accepts his demotion.

From hero to zero, he mumbles to himself but still flashes his dimpled
smile nonetheless to a dozen of students. He blows his whistle and all cars
stop. He walks crossing the street back and forth and all the kids politely say
thank you.

Well, almost all.

Except for one student.

A chubby boy with very pale skin, twinkling eyes and a naughty smirk does
not go straight into the school compound. Instead, he stops and raises
questions. And somehow Jun-ho feels like he is a bad guy being
interrogated by a good cop.

"What's your name? How should I call you? Officer? Captain? Ah... Are you
a superhero like in the comic books? This is the first time I see you around.
Are you really a policeman? You're not a criminal, are you?"

And so on. And so forth.

And the boy does not give Jun-ho a chance to respond or even think of an
answer. So, he just stands there listening to the boy's incessant mumbling
until

"Kyuhyun! What are you doing here? School will start soon!" A taller boy
with handsome features approaches them, shouting and running.

So, his name is Kyuhyun, Jun-ho thinks.

"Siwon.... Hi! I'm.... We have a new friend here," Kyuhyun tells his friend.
"His name is...." He turns around with a questioning look.

"Kim Jun-ho," the officer replies.

Siwon frowns. He hates Kyuhyun's habit of being too friendly to everyone.
Isn't it difficult enough for him to fight for Kyuhyun's attention against
Changmin, Jonghyun and Minho? And he still needs to deal with the rich
Uncle Andrew, ice-cream seller Won Dambi, his own cousin Shiyuan and
Kyuhyun's homeroom teacher Mr. Choi. And now suddenly, a police
officerwho looks so tall and handsome and well-built, complete with a
smile that can melt everyone's heartappears in front of their school. Life
is unfair, Siwon thinks. But he tries hard not to show his jealousy.

Jun-ho is trained to read facial expression and he quickly understands that
Siwon does not really like his presence. So, he tells the two boys to quickly
enter the school or they will be punished for being late.

Since then Jun-hos mornings and afternoons are colored with Kyuhyuns
presence. Kyuhyuns and Siwons to be precise, because the taller boy never
leaves Kyuhyuns side when Jun-ho is there.

Kyuhyun loves to talk about anything and he occasionally buys the
policeman a popsicle from Dambi. Jun-ho refuses the popsicle once but
then Kyuhyun sobs, saying that he is ugly and that is why Jun-ho does not
want to be his friend. He stops refusing Kyuhyuns good deeds. Besides, he
enjoys the little display of attention.

Maybe, he thinks, maybe his demotion is a blessing in disguise...
Lee Mongryong

While his father rules from the inside, Lee Mongryong the future king
travels a lot to make the kingdom flourish from the outside. He builds
alliances and establishes trades to maintain and improve the prosperity of
his kingdom. His current trip to the house of a CEO in South Korea is along
the same reason.

It is an admirable calculated move from Andrew, he realizes. By opening his
own house as the venue for the deal signing, Andrew obviously hopes to
convey his hospitality and sincerity in more ways than one. Lee Mongryong
cannot help but feel impressed and at ease, so he signs the deal and makes
them both happy businessmen.

And then a little orange ball bounces and rolls into the room before it stops
right next to his feet. A small gasp makes him raise his head towards the
door and, in that fated moment, he sees the most breathtaking creature he
has ever seen.

"Kyuhyun," Andrew calls out to said breathtaking creature peeking from
behind the wall. "What did I say about playing with a ball inside the
house?"

"I'm sorry, Uncle," Kyuhyun fidgets guiltily. "I was bored because Siwon is
late for our playdate."

If Andrew had paid attention to Lee Mongryong, he wouldve seen how the
princes eyes are fixed on Kyuhyun in the very way Andrew despises. He
wouldve noticed how Lee Mongryong is whispering with his counselor in
their own language until the latters face turns pale as he raises his voice a
notch, obviously disagreeing with the prince. But no, Andrew is too busy
explaining to Kyuhyun that he and Siwon should only be playing instead
of playdating while ruffling Kyuhyuns hair affectionately. Andrew only
throws a quick glance to the prince and apologizes for the interruption
before telling Kyuhyun to get his ball back. Kyuhyun whines, shy from being
the center of attention of all these strangers in his house, but Andrew
coaxes him with a promise that he can continue playing in his room with
the ball.

One of Lee Mongryongs bodyguards bends down to pick up the ball, but
the prince stops him and picks it up himself.

Its alright, Lee Mongryong smiles at Kyuhyun, offering the orange ball in
his hand. Heres your ball.

Kyuhyun blinks, his cheeks dusted pink, and slowly makes his way to the
prince.

It is only when the prince takes his little angels hand that Andrew realizes
something is wrong. Something is very wrong.

This would seem sudden and youre still very young, Lee Mongryong
begins, but I want you to know that I have fallen in love with you at first
sight, just like how my father did when he met my mother many years
ago.

Andrew springs to his feet and the counselor faints as Lee Mongryong
kisses the back of Kyuhyuns hand. Once you've come of age, I will come
again to ask for your hand in marriage properly.

It is certainly a miracle that the recently signed deal doesnt break off
immediately.

Later that day, Lee Mongryong rides the plane home already making up
plans about his future wedding despite the strong opposition from his
future spouses guardian. Andrew, on the other hand, is already writing
letters to the king about the blasphemy which just occurred and how he
cannot possibly allow such outrageous scheme to continue. Kyuhyun is
busy telling Siwon about his new, weird friend, a prince who talks about
things like love and marriage. Thankfully Kyuhyun is too young to truly
understand what the prince means, but the mature Siwon quickly sends a
prayer from deep within his heart that no one will take Kyuhyun away from
him.
Kang Hyunmin

"Yes yes yes I'm going!" A guy yells into his phone, "I'm on my way to the
cheapskate drama or school play or whatever you call it."

The guy hops into the black van waiting for him just across the lobby of his
apartment building. He settles into the front passenger seat and flicks his
overgrown bangs.

"I can't believe the director wants me to go watch an amateur school play,"
he scoffs as he puts on his one-million-won sunglasses and pulls his uniform
tie lose. "AND IT'S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MUSICAL FOR CRYING OUT
LOUD!! GOOOOOOD!!!!"

"There, there, Hyunmin-ah..." his manager/driver hurries to console the
emotional young man.

Kang Hyunmin is a child star. He has done commercial shots and magazine
covers since he was six year old. But he's in high school now, and the
management wants him to try some acting. The only problem is, he sucks
at it. And that's why the director tells him to watch a school play because
apparently some of the kids in that school are what people call acting
prodigies. They are simply born with natural talent.

And Hyunmin has to learn.

"Jeez... What kind of kids performs Romeo and Juliet at school? This is
ridiculous!" Hyunmin scoffs again as he squeezes in between some excited
parents. He settles beside a middle-aged man who raises an eyebrow at
him.

But then the play starts and everything changes.

Standing there on the stage, dressed in a simple white gown, is the most
beautiful Juliet he has ever seen. And Kang Hyunmin falls in love at first
sight.

He spends most of the performance ogling at Juliet and seriously
contemplating strangling the boy who plays Romeo when he kisses her
chubby pink cheeks. And he is grinning like an idiot when the MC
announces Cho Kyuhyun from class 5A as Juliet Capulet and the pretty girl
bows cutely.

Kang Hyunmin is seventeen, and he has just found his future bride.

How shocked he is when he follows Cho Kyuhyun to the backstage and she
takes off her wig and it turns out she is a boy. A very, very, beautiful boy.
But theres no such thing as a true love undone, and fate has said that Kang
Hyunmin, the future actor, will be loving and chasing after Cho Kyuhyun for
the rest of his life, even if he has to compete with Kyuhyuns many, many
fanboys like the best friend Choi Siwon, the uncle Andrew, the cousin
Shiyuan, and many other guys.

But the best part is, years later when Hyunmin meets his one true rival in
the entertainment industry who happens to be in love with Kyuhyun as
well, he can boast all over the media and say that he knew Cho Kyuhyun
first and he knows Cho Kyuhyun better. And not even the amazingly
talented Dun He Lian can say anything against that.
Dun He Lian

The first time he met Kyuhyun was three years ago. He was 24 and was at
the top of his career as one of Taiwan's most anticipated actors. Kyuhyun
was 13 and crying because he got separated from his fellow schoolmates
and lost in the foreign land of Taipei during one free day of his school trip.

Good thing Dun He Lian was pretty fluent in Korean, and he managed to
calm Kyuhyun down with a triple-scoop ice cream. He Lian took Kyuhyun
back to the hotel he was staying in after dinner. His teacher was baffled and
couldnt say much, but he gained color significantly when Kyuhyun came in
sight, well and happy.

And then there was a boy who came running and smashed himself against
Kyuhyun and engulfed the smaller in a bear hug and started to howl in
tears. He Lian remembered not liking the way that boy hugging Kyuhyun.
But then Kyuhyun laughed. It was the most beautiful sound He Lian had
ever heard, and his world turned a tad brighter in an instant.

That was the moment He Lian decided to move to Seoul permanently, or
anywhere Kyuhyun would be. He didnt know that he would meet all sorts
of men whose lives revolve around Kyuhyun, just like himself. He didn't
know that he would make it big in the Korean entertainment industry. He
didn't know that he would meet his biggest arch-enemy and the most
annoying actor he would be working with. All he knew was he would be
seeing Kyuhyun more often, and it was enough reason for him to leave
whatever life he had in Taiwan and follow Kyuhyun wherever he went.

They became acquainted. They became good friends. They became very
much like brothers. And even though that boy Siwon and Kyuhyun's uncle
Andrew and the annoying Kang Hyunmin constantly got in the frame he
built for Kyuhyun, he didn't mind at all.

But there was something they didn't know.

It actually started on Halloween night eleven years ago, when Dun He Lian
lived in Seoul for a month for movie filming purpose. And two kids knocked
on his door for trick or treat, one in a turtle costume and the other in horse.
That was his first meeting with Kyuhyun. And he had his heart hooked ever
since.
Siwon (Again)

Dambi is the first to come to his waiting room.

He brings two large bouquets of flowers with him and gives one to Siwon.
You will do this right, he says, and despite the dress and the wig and the
red lipstick, his handshake is very much a mansand Siwon definitely
knows a threat when he hears one.

-

The two actors arrive next.

That they come together is already a miracle in itself; hoping that they
wont try and maul each other in deference to this happy day is probably
stretching the limit a bit too far.

I met him first

Actually he met him first. Theyve been friends since they were kids.

Irrelevant. My point is, after my love confession in the national TV

Probably why he never looks at you.

Yeah? Well, HE NEVER LOOKS AT YOU EITHER.

Ignoring the other, the cool, collected one turns to look at Siwon. Which
can only mean that he doesnt have any space left in his heart except for
you. A flash of pain contorts the handsome face. Because if he had, I
wouldve already made him mine.

Over my dead body, the loud, eccentric one retorts.

Why not? A dead body offers more challenge than you do.

Said the loser who dropped to the sixth place in the last

Siwon is very glad when they finally depart.

-

"You're lucky, you know that." It is more of a statement, definitely with the
usual stern and rude tone.

Siwon stares at his cousin. He has always known that Shiyuan had a crush
on Kyuhyun. Correction: is having.... He still does and Siwon has no idea
when Shiyuan is going to stop wishing that someday Kyuhyun will love him
back.

"Don't worry, coz, I will make him the happiest person on Earth and he
won't regret this marriage," he says while shaking Shiyuan's hand. "And you
can stop wishing me dead anytime soon."

There are a very few times that Siwon knows he has to be rude to his
cousin, and his big day is just one of them.

-

The gangster is probably the one he dreads the most, if only for the amount
of chaos he will definitely bring with him.

Which is why Siwon is reasonably surprised to discover that Masi only
stands in front of himthey are at the exact same height nowwithout
trying to grab his lapels or punch him in the face or anything of the sort.
Maybe, Siwon reflects with some relief, he doesnt want to upset Kyuhyun
on his big day. Which is almost sweet, especially from someone like him.

That thought only persists until the gangster opens his mouth.

I buried a man last month.

Siwon freezes, but the other plods on, tone ominous. He hurt a brother of
mine, someone I care about. So I dealt with him. Cut him into little pieces
and buried him by the Han river. Also, two months before that, theres
another man who tried to mess with my close friend. Hes still lying in a
hospital now, breathing with a machine.

I understand, Siwon replies, mentally patting himself on the back for not
flinching from either the glare or the threat.

No, you dont, Masi growls, taking one step closer and getting into his
face. Because none of those will compare to what Im gonna do to you if
you hurt him. Get it?

-

He has my phone number.

Siwon stares at this strange king from the strange country with some
trepidation. After his previous meeting with Masi, he knows better than to
expect anything good. Pardon me?

So if he ever feels the slightest bit unhappy, Lee Mongryong continues,
hands clasped behind his back, if he even feels the flimsiest, tiniest speck
of unhappiness, then he knows how to find me. I will gladly make him my
queen and I will certainly make him the happiest man on Earth.

Thats never going to happen, Siwon replies, his voice firm and even.

The kings smile is condescending. We'll see.

-

Make him happy, the quiet, handsome man in expensive blue suit says.

And its all he says before leaving with a firm handshakebecause Kim Jun-
ho is the Director of National Intelligence Service and he doesnt need
words to make a point (or a threat for that matter).

-

Two men do not stop by at his waiting room.

One leaves a picture with his best man, Hyukjae: a picture of Siwon and
Kyuhyun in the first grade, on a sport event. Kyuhyun is wearing his biggest,
brightest smile and, Siwon only notices now, its all for him.

The other leads Kyuhyun, breathtaking in white, into the church and down
the aisle. Andrew says nothing when he gives Kyuhyun away, but Siwon only
needs one look at his expression to recognize that this is a man who will go
to the hell and back to hunt him if Siwon dares to hurt his precious angel.

-

If you only knew the things I must face to marry you.

What, Kyuhyun sounds almost amused, youre already regretting this?

No, never, Siwon says fervently, pulling the younger man into his arms.
Theyre finally alone in the honeymoon suite and Kyuhyun is an absolute
vision with his white jacket off and tie unlaced. My husband, he murmurs,
pressing their foreheads together. My husband. I just cant believe that you
really married me.

Kyuhyun is silent for a moment. Then he cups Siwons cheeks and holds his
gaze. I can never be happy with anyone else, he says quietly. You know
that, right?

Yes. Siwon smiles, kissing his husband. Yes, Kyuhyun, yes.
