1. Introduccin
Qu es el Observatorio de Antisemitismo?
El Observatorio de Antisemitismo en Espaa fue creado en el ao 2009 con el objetivo de centralizar, catalogar y
analizar los incidentes de carcter antisemita en Espaa, identicando a sus promotores y fomentando la reexin
a travs del anlisis y las publicaciones.
Creado por la Federacin de Comunidades Judas de Espaa y el Movimiento contra la Intolerancia, en el marco del
II Seminario Internacional sobre Antisemitismo en Espaa en noviembre de 2009, el Observatorio es un eslabn
ms en la lucha contra este mal que a pesar de haber perdido legitimidad en Europa, no ha pasado a ser un mal
recuerdo del pasado, sino que ha encontrado nuevos cauces, pretextos y actores.
El Observatorio de Antisemitismo en Espaa trabaja para poner en prctica las polticas ya existentes de lucha
contra el antisemitismo, y proponer nuevas acciones especcas tanto a la administracin pblica como a las orga-
nizaciones, medios de comunicacin y sociedad en general.
Qu hace el Observatorio?
El Observatorio recibe denuncias de actos antisemitas en Espaa a travs de su web: http://observatorioantisemi-
tismo.fcje.org/ y a travs de organizaciones judas y antiracistas. Tambin cuenta con un grupo de voluntarios que
informan posibles casos de antisemitismo.
El Observatorio clasica como actos antisemitas las acciones cometidas a personas, organizaciones y/o propie-
dades cuando existe una evidencia del acto como tal. Para que un hecho sea clasicado como antisemita, ste
debe tener motivacin o contenido antisemita; si no se evidencia alguno de estos dos aspectos no se considera
un acto antisemita.
El Observatorio de Antisemitismo en Espaa edita un informe anual con los actos acaecidos y registrados por el
OdA durante el ao transcurrido.
En este informe no se incluyen enlaces ni informacin de pginas webs cuyo contenido antisemita
es permanente.
En el apartado Iniciativas para analizar y estudiar el Antisemitismo, se recogen los actos e iniciativas, avances y
retrocesos que se han producido durante el ao.

1. Introduction
What is the Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain?
The Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain was created in 2009, with the objective of centralizing, cataloguing
and analyzing incidents of an anti-Semitic nature in Spain, identifying their instigators and encouraging reection
through analysis and publications.
Created by the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain and the Movement Against Intolerance, within the
frame of the Second International Seminar on Anti-Semitism in Spain in November 2009, the Observatory is one
more link in the ght against this evil that, despite having lost legitimacy in Europe, has not become relegated to a
bad memory of the past, but has instead found new channels, pretexts and perpetrators.
The Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain works to put into practice already existing policies in the ght against
Anti-Semitism, and to propose specic new actions to public administration as well as to organizations, the mass
media and society in general.
What does the Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain do?
The Observatory receives reports of anti-Semitic acts in Spain through its website: http://observatorioantisemitismo.
fcje.org/ and through Jewish and anti-racist organizations. It also has a group of volunteers who monitor possible
cases of Anti-Semitism.
The Observatory classies as anti-Semitic any act committed against people, organizations and/or property where
evidence indicates that it was this kind of act. In order for an act to be classied as anti-Semitic, it must have anti-
Semitic motivation or content; if there is no evidence of either of these two aspects, the act is not considered to be
anti-Semitic.
The Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain publishes an annual report with the anti-Semitic acts that occurred,
and were registered by the Observatory, during the past year.
This report does neither include links nor information about web sites in which the anti-Semitic content is the
permanent norm.
The paragraph Initiatives to analyze and study Anti-Semitism, collects the events and initiatives, progress and
setbacks that have taken place during the year.

Antisemitismo es una determinada percepcin sobre los judos que puede expresarse como odio hacia los
judos. Las manifestaciones verbales y fsicas de antisemitismose dirigen tanto contra personas judas o no
judas como contra sus bienes, instituciones comunitarias judas o lugares de culto.
El objetivo de este documento es proporcionar una gua prctica para identicar incidentes, recoger informacin y
apoyar la implementacin y el cumplimiento de la legislacin sobre antisemitismo.
Antisemitismo es una determinada percepcin sobre los judos que puede expresarse como odio hacia los judos.
Las manifestaciones verbales y fsicas de antisemitismo se dirigen tanto contra personas judas o no judas como
contra sus bienes, instituciones comunitarias judas o lugares de culto.
Estas manifestaciones tambin pueden tener como objeto al Estado de Israel, concebido como una entidad
colectiva juda. El antisemitismo acusa frecuentemente a los judos de conspirar en perjuicio de la humanidad y
generalmente es usado para culpar a los judos de que las cosas van mal. El antisemitismo se expresa en el habla,
de forma escrita, visual o en acciones y emplea estereotipos siniestros y caractersticas negativas de la personalidad.
Algunos ejemplos contemporneos de antisemitismo en la vida cotidiana, en los medios, escuelas, lugares de

Anti-Semitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and
physical manifestations of Anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their
property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.
The purpose of this document is to provide a practical guide for identifying incidents, collecting data, and supporting
the implementation and enforcement of legislation dealing with Anti-Semitism.
Anti-Semitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical
manifestations of Anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward
Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.
In addition, such manifestations could also target the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity. Anti-Semitism
frequently charges Jews with conspiring to harm humanity, and it is often used to blame Jews for why things go
wrong. It is expressed in speech, writing, visual forms and action, and employs sinister stereotypes and negative
character traits.
Contemporary examples of Anti-Semitism in public life, the media, schools, the workplace, and in the religious sphere
could, taking into account the overall context, include, but are not limited to:
Examples of the ways in which Anti-Semitism manifests itself with regard to the State of Israel taking into account the
overall context could include:
However, criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as anti-Semitic.
Anti-Semitic acts are criminal when they are so dened by law (for example, denial of the Holocaust or distribution of
anti-Semitic materials in some countries).
Criminal acts are anti-Semitic when the targets of attacks, whether they are people or property such as buildings,
schools, places of worship and cemeteries are selected because they are, or are perceived to be, Jewish or linked to
Jews.
Anti-Semitic discrimination is the denial to Jews of opportunities or services available to others and is illegal in many
countries.

Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.
Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single
Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.
Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish
people at the hands of National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during World War II
(the Holocaust).
Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust.
Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to
the interests of their own nations.

Using the symbols and images associated with classic Anti-Semitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or
blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.
Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel.

Por cuarto ao consecutivo el Observatorio de Antisemitismo compila en un informe los hechos y denuncias
registrados a largo del ao.
A diferencia de otros pases europeos, y pese a los requerimientos de distintas organizaciones espaolas y de
instituciones internacionales, en Espaa no existe registro ocial del Estado sobre incidentes y delitos de odio.
Sin embargo, el antisemitismo tanto organizado como latente es evidente como muestra la informacin recogida
en el Observatorio de Antisemitismo.
En 2012, por cantidad de denuncias, a la cabeza estn las expresiones en pginas web y redes sociales, seguidas de
pintadas y gratis, un poco ms distante, los medios de comunicacin y en menor medida agresiones personales
verbales y a la propiedad. Los actos de violencia fsica contra personas o inmuebles son casi inexistentes.
Adems, el presente Informe recoge iniciativas encaminadas a combatir, denunciar y analizar el antisemitismo.
El antisemitismo que se da en nuestro pas tiene sus singularidades. Se trata de un rechazo hacia lo judo sin que
la poblacin espaola conozca a ningn judo, dadas las escasas dimensiones de la comunidad juda espaola.
Sin embargo perviven en el inconsciente general la herencia de un profundo rechazo hacia lo judo. Esta es la
causa de que se continen utilizando expresiones como judiada o perro judo como insultos, o que pervivan
costumbres y estas populares como El Misteri DElx en Alicante o El Santo Nio de la Guardia en Toledo cuyo
eje gira en torno a la difamacin y condena de los judos.
El diccionario de la Real Academia de la Lengua mantiene varios trminos de ms o menos uso popular que
reconoce, son despectivos. De tal manera, quienes los utilizan tienen que ser conscientes de su efecto peyorativo.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain collects the facts and complaints
registered during the year.
Unlike other European countries, and despite the requirements of international institutions, in Spain it does not
exists an o cial statistical le of hate crime incidents recorded by the Government, and therefore, we lack of an
objective measurement of anti-Semitic incidents.
However, both latent and organized anti-Semitism, are an evidence, as shown by the information gathered by the
Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain.
In 2012, by number of complaints, the most frequent anti-Semitic incidents can be found in websites and social
media, followed by anti-Semitic gra ti, and to a lesser extent verbal assaults and damage to property. Acts of
physical violence against individuals or property are almost non-existent.
In addition, this report includes initiatives to combat, report and analyze anti-Semitism.
Spanish Anti-Semitism is quite peculiar. It is a rejection of any kind of Jewishness, without the Spanish population
probably knowing any Jew at all, given the small size of the Spanish Jewish community.
But the heritage of a deep rejection towards Jewishness, still survives in the Spanish collective unconscious.
This is the cause of repeatedly used insulting expressions like Judiada or Jewish dog, or the survival of popular
festivities as El Misteri dElxin Alicante or The Holy Child of La Guardiain Toledo, which are really defamatory and
condemnatory of Jewish people.
The dictionary of the Real Academia de la Lengua (Royal Academy of Language) maintains several terms of more
or less popular usage, recognized as derogatory. Thus, those who use them have to be aware of their pejorative
eect. Some examples :

Por otra parte, algunos acontecimientos relacionados con Israel tambin disparan los prejuicios contra los judos
latentes en nuestra sociedad. Pudimos verlo en abril en la edicin online de Galicia Condencial donde el Embajador
de Israel en Espaa, Aln Bar, transmiti al Presidente de la Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Nez Feijo la solidaridad del
Estado de Israel por el terrible incendio en Fragas do Eume y le ofreca colaboracin en las labores de reforestacin
y recuperacin del parque natural.
Entre otros comentarios, se pudo leer:
Ha ha ha como treballan arreo os mercenarios do fas cismo pagados polo lobby xdeo que defenden o criminal
estado nazi sionista. Co demo vs confunda.
Este es solo un ejemplo de cmo los medios de comunicacin amparan blogs y permiten comentarios claramente
antisemitas y xenfobos.
Con este Informe, el Observatorio de Antisemitismo pone de maniesto un mal antiguo y camalenico que
perdura en nuestro pas y pretende contribuir a la construccin de una sociedad en la que no quepa la exclusin
por razones de religin, raza, etnia, sexo, identidad o cultura.
3. Actos antisemitas registrados
3.1 Ataques contra las personas
Esta categora se reere a la violencia (verbal o fsica) contra personas que en un momento dado se relacionan con algo
judo, independientemente de si son o no judos. Incluye ataques verbales tales como insultos, amenazas, coacciones y
todo tipo de agresiones, de manera directa o por va de escritos, mensajes en el contestador, correo, correo electrnico,
sms, etc)

Proclamas antisemitas en el Instituto Cataln de la Mediterrnea
En el mes de enero, durante la celebracin de la primera charla del ciclo El dilluns dIsraelprogramada por Amigos
de la Unesco de Barcelona en el Instituto Cataln de la Mediterrnea, cinco seis participantes irrumpieron en la
sala desplegando pancartas en las que se podan leer comparaciones de los israeles con los nazis o los racistas
sudafricanos.
Seguidamente se levantaron de sus asientos y comenzaron a interrumpir la conferencia lanzando proclamas
antiisraeles.
On the other hand, some events related to Israel also re anti-Jewish prejudices latent in our society. We could see
in April on the online edition of the newspaper Galicia Condencial (Galicia Condential) which reported that the
Israeli Ambassador in Spain, Alon Bar, transmitted to the President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Nez Feijoo,
the solidarity of Israel towards the Galician people, in the wake of the terrible re in Fragas do Eume, and oered
cooperation on reforestation and recovery of the natural park.
Among other comments, one could read the following:
Ha ha ha, the mercenaries of fascism, paid by the Jewish lobby who defends the Nazi criminal Zionist State,
work hard. Go to hell.
This is just one example of how the Media host blogs which allow comments clearly anti-Semitic, xenophobic, and
that undermine human rights.
With this report, the Observatory on Anti-Semitism in Spain reveals an ancient, and to some extent hidden, evil that
lingers in our country, and aims to contribute to build a society in which religion, race, gender, ethnicity, identity or
culture will never be reasons to be socially excluded.
3. Registered anti-Semitic acts
3.1 Attacks against people
This category refers to violence (verbal or physical) against people, regardless of whether the person is Jewish or not. It
includes verbal attacks such as insults and threats, in a direct manner or through written messages, voicemails, mail,
e-mail, text messages, etc)

In January, during the celebration of the rst lecture of the series El dilluns dIsrael (The Monday of Israel)
organized by Amigos de la Unesco de Barcelona (Friends of UNESCO in Barcelona) in the Instituto Cataln de la
Mediterrnea (Mediterranean Catalan Institute), ve or six people broke into the room displaying banners in which
you could read comparisons of Israelis to Nazis or racists South Africans.
They then disrupted the conference shouting anti-Israeli slogans

Agresin a un joven en Melilla
El da 23 de noviembre, un grupo de estudiantes musulmanes del IES Enrique Nieto agredi a un compaero de
confesin juda durante el recreo.
Durante el n de semana, las sinagogas y el centro comunitario permanecieron cerrados. Algunos de los comercios
de familias judas de la ciudad recibieron agresiones.
3.2 Ataques contra la propiedad
Esta categora se reere a los daos y ataques recibidos contra cualquier bien aunque no ponga en peligro a las personas.
Incluye pintadas, carteles y daos causados a edicios.
Ataque a la pgina web de la Comunidad Juda de Madrid
La pgina web de la Comunidad Juda de Madrid sufri en la noche del da 12 de marzo un ataque de hacking
que bloque por algunas horas la pgina y oblig a su cierre temporal. El ataque se lo atribuy un grupo marroqu
llamado Les Royalistes, que dej durante unos minutos colgada en la pgina de la Comunidad la imagen que se
muestra en la pgina 10.

Gra ti in Barcelona, March the 29th, in front of the o ce of a leader of ARCCI (Asociacin de Relaciones Culturales
Catalano-Israeles Asociation of Catalan-Israeli Relationship). (See picture on page 11)
Aggression to a young man in Melilla
On November the 23th, a group of Muslim students from Enrique Nieto school assaulted a Jewish pupil during a
break.
During the weekend, the synagogue and the community center were closed. Some of the shops with Jewish
owners, were attacked.
3.2 Attacks against property
This category refers to attacks perpetrated against any property that do not endanger any people. It includes gra ti,
posters, banners, and damage to buildings.
Hacking Madrid Jewish Community Website
The website of the Jewish Community of Madrid suered, on the night of March the 12th, a cyber-attack that
blocked for a few hours the site and forced its temporary closure. The attack was claimed by the Moroccan group
called Les Royalistes, who for a few minutes, displayed on the Community web page, the image shown below.

In this case the origin of the person described is used related to his work and status. The stereotype that Jews, as a

On April the 8th there is an article in El Condencial newspaper, in which the author links the competition between
Madrid and Barcelona to get the Eurovegas project, to a supposed Jewish pressure campaign.

El 15 de marzo, el Telediario de TVE 1 posibilita amplia visibilidad a la vieta del dibujante Carlos Romeu publicada
en El Pas en 2009, la cual suscit en su momento las protestas de la FCJE por su carcter claramente antisemita y
reiterativo en la obra del humorista.

El 24 de marzo la pgina web de Cotizalia public: Un judio libans ancado en Brasil, as es el banquero ms rico

En este caso el origen de la persona descrita es usado en relacin a su ocupacin y status. El estereotipo de que los
judos, como colectivo, tienen poder econmico, lleva irremediablemente a acusaciones como la archiconocida
conspiracin juda mundial, o el control de los judos sobre los medios, la economa, el gobierno u otras instituciones
de la sociedad.
El Condencial
El 8 de abril aparece un artculo en El Condencial en el que el autor aprovecha el proyecto de Eurovegas para
vincularlo a una supuesta presin juda tras la competencia entre Madrid y Barcelona para hacerse con la licitacin.

On December 7th, while using the excuse of criticizing Benjamin Netanyahus Government, the writer links the
birth of the State of Israel to the Holocaust, delving into a classic anti-Jewish prejudice and launching a veiled
accusation of racism.
Israel makes a living out of post-World War II guilt (well, Israel makes a living out of much more than that: the
Jews stand out as being good businessmen), but they hardly leave anyone living near them

El artculo de Matthew Tree sobre el aforismo de Abel Cutillas me hizo pensar en aquellas viejas, normalmente de
pueblo, que en la poca franquista se dedicaban a destruir la libertad y la alegra en nombre de la moral. Slo desde
el resentimiento o la poca inteligencia se puede tachar de antisemita el aforismo del seor Cutillas. El Holocausto
fue, en cierto modo, un homenaje a los judos: se les reconoci como pueblo elegido.
No se puede explicar mejor el espritu de las dos guerras mundiales ni la relacin que liga un poder con sus
vctimas. De hecho, es el resumen de la historia de la humanidad que yo hubiera querido hacer. Y es irnico ver

Matthew Trees article on Abel Cutillas aphorism made me think

of those old ladies, usually people native from a small village,
who in the Franco era were dedicated to destroy freedom and
joy in the name of morality. Only with resentment or a lack of

And regarding Arnau Pons book, it reminds me of those luxuriously bound books about the civil war incendiaries,
that some Catalans used to publish just to appear in the newspapers linked to Franco. It is ok if Pons wants to
promote his poems, but he does not need to label no one as an anti-Semitic, or to disturb the gassed Jews.
It is sad that the Holocaust has become a specialty of women and queers. And I use those terms convinced that
everybody will understand me in doing so, and that they will not oend anyone who does not deserve it. We
should distinguish more between the world of ideas and the real world, among groups and individuals, to see if the

On September the 22nd, the aforementioned digital newspaper, published a possible action of an Israeli bank in
the Spanish bank Bankia
These were the headlines:
Using the words Jewish capital is comparable to saying Christian capital or Muslim capital. It adds nothing to
the story, just deepens into de stereotype of relating Jewish religion with money and nances. Similarly, the image
that illustrates the article, goes in the same direction: an ultra-Orthodox Jew who has nothing to do with the
content unless you want to equate religion with economic power.
The following article, from newspaper El Pais, is justiably included in the current report, to note the tendency to
discredit Israel, even with lies (such as those registered in the article itself ), that exists in certain media. The new
Anti-Semitism consists, among other things, in submitting Israel, the only Jewish state in the world, to utopian
standards of morality, exposing their actions to international scrutiny and inviting to public condemnation.
The article in El Pas uses the possible visit of an Israeli Army soldier, who was kidnapped by Hamas in Gaza for ve
years, to Barcelona to watch a football match at the Camp Nou. According to the article, and without consulting or
contrasting any information sources, the soldier, by the mere fact of being so, was involved in what they call the
Gaza massacre. The reality is that not only he did not participate in any military operation, he was also the victim
of a terrible and long kidnapping that took place in the same area where the article claims that he perpetrated his
murderous activities.
En cuanto al libro de Arnau Pons, me recuerda estos volmenes tan bien encuadernados sobre los incendiarios de
la guerra civil que algunos catalanes publicaban para poder salir en los peridicos franquistas. Est bien que Pons
quiera promocionar sus poemas, pero no es necesario que trate nadie de antisemita y menos que moleste a los
judos gaseados. Es triste que el holocausto haya convertido en una especialidad de mujeres y maricas. Y utilizo
los trminos convencido de que todos me entendern y que no ofender a nadie que no lo merezca. Deberamos
distinguir ms entre el mundo de las ideas y el mundo real, entre los colectivos y los individuos, a ver si as los
intelectuales de este pas que viven de decir buenas palabras mientras las ores se marchitan se arriesgan a escribir
algo que valga la pena. Antisemitas sois vosotros que, estigmatizando el juego y la irona, perpetuais el sistema que
hizo posible el holocausto, ste en el que no se hace diferencia entre la idea y la vida.

El 22 de septiembre apareci en el citado medio digital una posible actuacin de un banco de Israel en el espaol
Bankia.
As titularon:
Utilizar la expresin Capital judo es equiparable a decir capital cristiano o capital musulmn. No aporta nada
a la noticia salvo ahondar en el estereotipo de relacionar la religin juda con dinero y nanzas. De igual manera,
la imagen que ilustra la noticia va en la misma direccin: un judo ultraortodoxo que no tiene nada que ver con el
contenido salvo que se quiera equiparar lo religioso con poder econmico.
El siguiente artculo del diario El Pais tiene su justicacin en el presente informe por la corriente existente en
algunos medios de comunicacin de desprestigiar a Israel incluso con mentiras (como es el caso del propio
artculo). El nuevo antisemitismo consiste, entre otras cosas, en someter a Israel, el nico estado judo del mundo,
a estndares utpicos de moralidad, exponer sus actuaciones al escrutinio internacional e invitar a la condena
pblica.
El artculo de El Pas aprovecha la posible visita de un soldado del Ejrcito israel, secuestrado por Hams en Gaza
durante 5 aos, a Barcelona a ver un partido en el Camp Nou. Se da por bueno, sin consultar fuentes ni contrastar
informacin, que dicho soldado, por el hecho de serlo, particip en lo que llaman matanza de Gaza. La realidad
es que no slo no particip en operacin militar alguna sino que fue vctima de un terrible y largo secuestro en la
misma zona donde se le presuponen actividades asesinas.

El Pas 26-09-2012 ANTI ISRAEL
Controversy over Bara inviting an Israeli soldier, involved in the killing of Gaza, to attend the Camp Nou to the
Classic against Real Madrid, October 7th
Those were the headlines in the Sports section of El Pas newspaper, of an article about Gilad Shalits invitation to
attend a Bara Madrid match in the Camp Nou stadium.
Gilad Shalit is a young man who was serving in the army (the mandatory military service) when he was kidnapped
by terrorist group Hamas.
The article does not clarify what killing was he involved in. Since 2005, the year of the withdrawal of the Israeli
army, the only operations in Gaza took place during the kidnapping of Shalit, so the young man could not have
participated.
After a complaint, the newspaper published a brief correction
The Observatory warns about the proliferation of anti-Semitic statements and expressions in the online media (blogs,
and the comments of the users), where theres little or none control.

Polmica por la invitacin del Bara a un militar israel involucrado en la matanza de Gaza para que asista en
el Camp Nou al clsico del 7 de octubre contra el Madrid.
As subtitul en la seccin de Deportes el peridico El Pas un artculo que relata la invitacin a Gilad Shalit a asistir
a un partido del Bara en el Estadio Camp Nou.
Gilad Shalit es un joven que realizaba el servicio militar obligatorio cuando fue secuestrado por el grupo terrorista
Hams.
El artculo no aclara a que matanza se reere. Desde 2005, ao de la retirada del ejrcito israel, las nicas
operaciones en Gaza tuvieron lugar durante el secuestro de Shalit, por lo que el joven no pudo haber participado.
Tras las pertinentes reclamaciones el diario escribe una somera recticacin:

El Observatorio llama la atencin sobre el amparo que los medios de comunicacin otorgan en sus espacios en Internet,
tanto en blogs como en los comentarios en los que apenas existe control y donde con demasiada frecuencia nos
encontramos con expresiones judefobas y antisemitas.

In March, the Twitter account of the Israeli diplomat showed the following messages:

The pamphlets distributed during the march in Madrid for the unity of Spain called by right-wing organizations and

and the Athletic de Bilbao, were a real call to violence and hate speech. Those pamphlets included phrases like
Catalan, Jewish renegade, youll pay for the damage youve caused (see picture on page 25).

Los panetos repartidos durante la marcha en Madrid por la unidad de Espaa convocada por organizaciones de
ultraderecha y autorizada por el Gobierno el 25 de mayo con ocasin del partido de la nal de la Copa del Rey
entre en FC Barcelona y el Athletic de Bilbao, eran una llamamiento a la violencia y una incitacin al odio en toda
su expresin.

El 26 de febrero el programa Escchame dedicado a colectivos de discapacitados, utiliz como ejemplo de
superacin la vida de Joseph Goebbles, mximo jerarca nazi responsable de la Propaganda del rgimen de Adolf
Hitler.
Para Escchame, Goebbles fue: un poltico alemn vido lector, estudiante prolfco, de inteligencia
extraordinaria y enigmtico en vida.
Cabe recordar que el rgimen al que perteneca Joseph Goeebles se encarg de aniquilar a miles de discapacitados.
Los discapacitados alemanes fueron las primeras vctimas de los nuevos mtodos nazis para limpiar la sociedad.
En respuesta a una carta enviada por la Federacin de Comunidades Judas de Espaa, la Corporacin Extremea de
Medios Audiovisuales, justic la inclusin del personaje en el programa aludiendo a su capacidad de superacin
personal.
Ataque en la Sala Stroika de Manresa
El 23 de marzo, un grupo de nazis armados con barras de hierro y puos americanos atacaron a cuatro jvenes en
la entrada de la sala Stroika de Manresa. A consecuencia de la agresin, los cuatro jvenes resultaron heridos de
consideracin y uno de ellos permaneci varios das ingresado en la UCI al borde de la muerte. Asimismo, un coche
result incendiado por el lanzamiento de bengalas con los ocupantes en su interior.
Tras la investigacin, los Mossos dEsquadra detuvieron a 16 personas para las que el scal imputa supuestos delitos
de asesinato en grado de tentativa, lesiones con uso de objetos contundentes, incendio, tenencia ilcita de armas y
pertenencia a asociacin ilcita. Los detenidos forman parte presuntamente de un grupo criminal organizado cuya
nalidad es el uso de la violencia para difundir su ideologa.
Los smbolos nazis en la procesin de La Cofrada de la Virgen de las Angustias de Ciudad Real
En el mes de abril, coincidiendo con la Semana Santa, varios medios de comunicacin se hicieron eco de una
procesin en Ciudad Real en la que se exhibe un smbolo nazi. A continuacin transcribimos uno de los textos:

Regional Television of Extremadura - Space Escchame(Listen to Me)
On February 26 the Escchame space, devoted to disabled people and related groups, used Joseph Goebbels,
Nazi leader in charge of the Propaganda Ministry of Adolf Hitlers regime, as an example of how disabled people
could improve their lives.
According to the TV space, Goebbels was a German politician... avid reader, prolifc student, extraordinary
intelligent and with an enigmatic life.
Its worthy to recall that the regime to which Joseph Goeebles belonged, exterminated thousands of disabled
people. The disabled Germans were the rst victims of the new Nazi methods to clean society.
In response to a letter sent by the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain, the Extremadura Broadcasting
Corporation, justied the inclusion of Joseph Goebbels in the TV space, due to his ability for self-improvement.
Attack in the Stroika venue, Manresa
On March 23rd, a group of Nazis armed with iron bars and sts attacked four young men at the entrance of the
venue Stroika in Manresa. As a result of the attack, the four young men were seriously wounded and one of them
spent several days in the ICU on the verge of death. Also, a car was set on re by launching ares with the occupants
inside.
After the investigation, the Catalan police arrested 16 persons for the alleged crimes, the prosecutor accused
them of attempted murder, injury with use of blunt objects, arson, possession of illegal weapons and conspiracy
membership. The detainees are allegedly part of an organized criminal group whose purpose is the use of violence
to spread their ideology
The Nazi symbols in the procession of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows in Ciudad Real
In April, coinciding with Easter, several media echoed a procession in Ciudad Real in which a Nazi symbol was
exhibited. Heres the transcription of one of the texts:

Agresin nazi en Alicante
El 20 de abril cuatro personas fueron detenidas en Alicante por, presuntamente, causar diversas lesiones a otra,
a la que empujaron por unas escaleras de acceso al tranva metropolitano (TRAM) despus de que sta ltima se
negara a saludar a Hitler.
Segn los testigos de la agresin, dos mujeres y un hombre se dirigieron a la vctima conminndole a que saludara
a Hitler, al tiempo que estos realizaban el saludo fascista, y al no querer acceder a su pretensin consumaron la
agresin.
Koke pide disculpas por exhibir un smbolo nazi
El 10 de mayo, el canterano del Atltico de Madrid Jorge Resurreccin, Koke, pidi perdn por llevar en la cabeza
un smbolo nazi durante la celebracin de la copa Uefa Europa League. Concretamente, una calavera conocida
como Totenkpf, prohibida por la UEFA y la Ley contra la Violencia y el Racismo en el Deporte, por haber sido el
smbolo de las SS y de una divisin del Ejrcito Alemn durante el Tercer Reich.
El deportista manifest que no tena conocimiento del signicado de este simbolo.

On April 20th, four people were arrested in Alicante for allegedly causing several injuries to one person who was

According to witnesses of the attack, two women and a man approached the victim ordering him to salute Hitler,
while they carried the fascist salute; the victim refused to do so, and he was assaulted.
Koke apologized for exhibiting a Nazi symbol
On May 10, the Atletico de Madrid player, Jorge Resurreccin, Koke, apologized for wearing on his head a Nazi
symbol during the celebration of the Uefa Europa League cup. Specically, a skull known as Totenkopf, banned by
UEFA and the Law against Violence and Racism in Sport, for being the symbol of the SS during the Third Reich. The
athlete claimed he had no knowledge of the meaning of this symbol.

5. Iniciativas para analizar y estudiar el Antisemitismo
El antisemitismo necesita ser combatido. El primer paso es el reconocimiento de su existencia. El segundo es, sin duda,
la educacin, el medio ms ecaz para hacerle frente. Y en paralelo poner n a la difusin del discurso del odio como
reclaman las leyes y acuerdos internacionales. Para estos pasos es necesario el rme compromiso de las instituciones.
La historia ha demostrado que el nivel de antisemitismo en una sociedad es un termmetro de medida de su salud
democrtica y del grado de libertad y tolerancia que disfruta.
Hispan TV
A nales de diciembre el Ministerio de Industria, Energa y Turismo de Espaa pidi a las autoridades de Hispasat
que dejaran de emitir la seal de Hispan TV y Press TV (la versin en ingls).
La medida se adopt en correspondencia con las sanciones que impuso la Unin Europea contra la Repblica
Islmica de Irn.
La Comunidad de Madrid cort la seal en enero de 2013.
La emisora de capital iran, inaugurada en enero por el propio presidente de la Repblica Islmica de Irn, Mahmud
Ahmadinejad, comenz a emitir su seal en Espaa a travs del satlite Hispasat, propiedad pblica en un 26,69%
y privada en el 74,28 % restante.
En su programacin, el canal iran incluye prcticamente todos los das una informacin de contenido judefobo,
negacionista y antiisrael (ver imagen en pgina32).

Reforma del Cdigo Penal para perseguir la negacin del Holocausto
El gobierno present en octubre un anteproyecto de reforma del Cdigo Penal en el que plantea cambiar
dos artculos para incluir como delitos la negacin del Holocausto y la apologa del antisemitismo.
Esta medida, anunciada por el ministro de Justicia Alberto Ruiz Gallardn tras el Consejo de Ministros del
11 de octubre, todava no est desarrollada y supondr la equiparacin de la legislacin espaola a otras
legislaciones europeas que castigan penalmente la apologa y negacin de los crmenes de genocidio,
especialmente el Holocausto.

5. Initiatives to analyze and study Anti-Semitism
Anti-Semitism must be fought. The rst step is recognizing its existence. The second is, without a doubt, education, the
most eective method of confronting it. At the same time, we must put an end to the spread of hate speech, as required
by international laws and agreements. To do this, a rm institutional commitment is necessary. History has shown that
the level of anti-Semitism in a society is a barometer for the measurement of the health of its democracy and the degree
of liberty and tolerance it enjoys.
Hispan TV
The iranian station, which was inaugurated in January by the President of the Islamic Republic himself, Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad, began bradcasting its signal via the Spanish satellite Hispasat, which is 26,69% a public property and
a private one the remaining 74,28 %.
The Iranian channel includes virtually every day Judeophobic and anti-Israeli information, while denying the
Holocaust.

Un ao y medio de prisin para un militar por apologa nazi.
Una juez de Vigo impone en enero una condena de un ao y medio de prisin a Daniel C.L. un militar de 29 aos
de origen corus, por exaltacin del nazismo a travs de un foro en Internet.
El scal dijo en el juicio que en el foro, en el que Daniel utiliz varios nicks, se refera con hostilidad a judos o indios
y se reproducan textos del ministro de Hitler, Joseph Goebbels.
Sin embargo, el acusado fue absuelto de otro delito que le imputaba la Fiscala, que era por incitar al odio o violencia
por motivos racistas, antisemitas u otros.
Sancionado el librero Varela por difundir obras neonazis en la crcel
En enero los responsables de la prisin de Brians 1 sancionaron a Pedro Varela Geiss, propietario de la librera
Europa con 10 das de privacin de pase y de actividades recreativas por hacer apologa de ideas neonazis,
ultraderechistas y negacionistas del Holocausto.
El librero deposit siete libros de esta temtica en la biblioteca del centro penitenciario al alcance de todos los
presos. Segn los responsables penitenciarios Usted hace publicidad entre los internos, indicndoles que los
libros estn a su disposicin en la biblioteca e invitndoles a leerlos, explicndoles que son libros que versan sobre
su ideologa.
Adems, su abogado se adhiri al indulto para Varela solicitado por una tercera persona, medida a la que el scal de
delitos de odio y discriminacin de Barcelona, se opuso radicalmente, pues considera que Varela es reincidente
fue condenado, en 2008, por un hecho similar y que tiene una causa pendiente en un juzgado de Barcelona por
un delito contra la propiedad intelectual, ya que edit y vendi copias del Mein Kampf, cuyos derechos de autor
son propiedad del Estado alemn de Baviera.
A disposicin judicial el autor de blog nazi
El 24 de enero pas a disposicin judicial en el juzgado de instruccin n 3 de Badalona un individuo de 22
aos detenido como presunto creador y administrador de un blog y una pgina en una conocida red social de
internet donde se recogan autnticos manuales de combate con un lenguaje que incitaba a la violencia contra
determinados colectivos de personas denidas por su origen, etnia, raza, religin (Juda) u orientacin sexual.
El detenido qued en libertad con cargos con la obligacin de comparecer los das 1 y 15 de cada mes ante el
juzgado, todo ello por su presunta participacin en un delito de provocacin al odio, la violencia y la discriminacin
del art. 510 del cdigo penal, otro de difusin de ideas que justican el genocidio del art. 607.2 cp y un delito de
tenencia ilcita de armas.
Condenado un neonazi en Barcelona por difundir ideas genocidas
Luis Antonio G. R., de 79 aos, secretario del partido ultraderechista Estado Nacional Europeo (ENE) y editor de
la revista Intemperie, fue condenado en el mes de febrero en Barcelona, a un ao de crcel por la difusin de
mensajes que incitan a la discriminacin, la exclusin y la eliminacin de distintos grupos raciales, adems de
exaltar regmenes totalitarios,
La sentencia obliga, adems, a cerrar la pgina web del partido.
Condenado un neonazi por difundir mensajes de odio en un foro de Internet
En abril, un juzgado de Sabadell conden a dos aos de crcel a un neonazi que cre en 2007 una pgina web
dedicada a difundir la doctrina del odio. La juez orden, adems, la clausura denitiva del sitio www.europans.org,
un foro para nacionalsocialistas en el que el acusado y otras personas, de forma annima, escribieron textos que
incitan al odio contra colectivos y promovan el genocidio.
A year and a half in prison for a soldier for Nazi apology.
In January, a judge from Vigo imposed a sentence of one year and a half in prison for Daniel CL, a soldier of 29 years
from La Corua for exaltation of Nazism through an online forum.
The prosecutor told the court that in the forum, in which Daniel used several nicks, hostility to Jews or Indians was

Bookseller Varela sanctioned for spreading neo-Nazi Works in prison
In January, prison Brians 1 o cials, sanctioned Pedro Varela Geiss, owner of the bookstore Europa, with 10 days
of deprivation of recreational activities, for apologizing neo-Nazi ideas and denying the Holocaust.
The bookseller deposited seven books on the matter, in the prison library available to all prisoners. According to

On January the 24th, an individual 22 years old went to court in the trial court # 3 of Barcelona, as the alleged
creator and administrator of a blog and a well-known web site which collected real combat manualswhich incited
violence against groups of people dened by their origin, ethnicity, religion (Judaism) and sexual orientation.
The detainee was released with charges, he has to appear on the 1st and 15th of each month at the court, all for
his alleged involvement in a crime of incitement to hatred, violence and discrimination (art. 510 of the penal code),
dissemination of ideas that justify the genocide (art. 607.2 cp) and illegal possession of weapons.
Convicted a neo-Nazi in Barcelona for disseminating genocidal ideas
Luis Antonio G. R., 79 years old, secretary of the far-right party European National Government (Estado Nacional
Europeo - ENE) and editor of Weatherproof magazine, was convicted in February in Barcelona, to a year in prison

Con fecha del 26 de abril, el Juzgado de Instruccin n4 de Zaragoza declar probado que el da 17 de septiembre
de 2011, miembros de Sefarad Aragn que se encontraban en el centro comercial Aragonia realizando una
actividad de caligrafa hebrea, fueron rodeados por un grupo de jvenes que comenzaron a sacarles fotografas
con sus telfonos mviles, a la que vez que se burlaban de ellos y les gritaban fascistas, racistas, asesinos.
Los hechos fueron declarados probados y son legalmente constitutivos de una falta de vejaciones injustas previstas
y penadas en el Art. 620.2 del Cdigo Penal.
El denunciado, que formaba parte de un grupo, movido por el nimo de molestar, humillar, ridiculizar
y menoscabar la dignidad de las personas que estaban participando en la actividad de caligrafa hebrea
desarrollada por la Asociacin Sefarad Aragn, comenzaron a rerse de ellos, a sacarles numerosas fotografas
con los telfonos mviles y a gritarles expresiones que socialmente son consideradas ofensivas por cuanto
implicaban un ataque a la cultura y a la historia que representaban
Al acusado se le impuso una pena de quince das de multa, a razn de una cuota diaria de seis euros, as como al
abono de las costas procesales causadas, como responsable de una falta de vejaciones injustas.

Dismantled the commercial framework of a Nazi rock group
In May, the police oIn May, the police of Barcelona dismantled the business and commercial network of the musical
group Batalln de Castigo (Punishment Battalion), one of the most signicant neo-Nazi rock bands of Spain.
The investigation began seven months before when the band held a concert in Sabadell. The members of the
group are accused, among other crimes, of justication of genocide and of selling products of Nazi ideology. There
were also other detentions in Madrid in relation to this case.
Batalln de Castigo, led by a member of the party Alianza Nacional (National Alliance) was founded by fascist
inmates of the Alcal-Meco prison in 1996.
Investigating Court No. 2 of Sabadell charged in June to six members of the group, accused of hate crimes through
the lyrics of their songs.
Arrested a neo-Nazi who was preparing a bomb attack at the university of Mallorca
Before purchasing materials for making explosives, Juan M. M. read Adolf Hitler. The 21 years old young man, was
planning at the Balearic University a massacre similar to the one perpetrated by two guys in a school of Columbine
(USA) on April 20, 1999 (the anniversary of the birth of Hitler). He was attracted to the Mein Kampf since the
previous spring. He has been arrested and brought to court in October.
Closed a neo-Nazi web page for genocide advocacy
In November, National Police agents arrested Miguel Angel BA for a crime against human rights and another one
of advocating genocide.
The detainee, was the creator of a Nazi website which spread xenophobic messages and promoted genocide.
This site has been closed and a lot of material related with the Skinhead movement has been requisitioned.

I International Seminar on Anti-Semitism in Catalonia
During the 7th and 8th of November, it was celebrated in Barcelona the 1st Workshop on Anti-Semitism in Catalonia.
The seminar is the rst o cial and social initiative in Catalonia that has treated the anti-Semitic prejudice in a
scientic and academic way.

Desarticulado el entramado comercial de un grupo de rock nazi
En el mes de mayo los Mossos dEscuadra desmantelan el entramado empresarial y comercial del grupo musical
Batalln de Castigo, una de las ms signicativas bandas de rock neonazi de Espaa.
La investigacin comenz 7 meses antes, cuando el grupo musical celebr un concierto en Sabadell. Se acusa a
los miembros de la organizacin, entre otros delitos, de justicacin del genocidio y comercializar productos de
ideologa nazi. Tambin se realizaron registros y se produjeron detenciones en Madrid con relacin a este caso.
Batalln de Castigo, liderado por un dirigente de Alianza Nacional, fue fundado por internos de ideologa fascista
en la prisin de Alcal-Meco en 1996.
El Juzgado de Instruccin n 2 de Sabadell imput en junio a seis de sus miembros. Todos ellos estn acusados de
delitos de incitacin al odio a travs de las letras de sus canciones.
Detenido un neonazi que preparaba un atentado con explosivos en la Universidad de Mallorca
Antes de adquirir materiales para explosivos, Juan M. M. ley a Adolf Hitler. El joven de 21 aos, que estaba planeando
en la Universidad de Baleares una matanza similar a la perpetrada por dos chicos en una escuela de Columbine
(EE UU) el 20 de abril de 1999 (aniversario del nacimiento de Hitler), sinti atraccin en la pasada primavera por el
Mein Kampf. Ha sido detenido y puesto a disposicin judicial en Octubre.
Cerrada una Web neonazi por apologa del genocidio
En noviembre, agentes de la Polica Nacional detuvieron a Miguel ngel B.A como presunto autor de un delito
contra los derechos fundamentales y otro de apologa del genocidio.
El detenido, fue el creador de una pgina web de ideologa nazi que difunda mensajes de contenido xenfobo y
promova ideas a favor del genocidio.
La pgina ha sido clausurada y se ha intervenido numeroso material relacionado con el movimiento Skinhead.
5.2 Iniciativas realizadas en 2012
Congreso Internacional sobre el Holocausto
En el mes de marzo se celebr en Madrid un Congreso Internacional sobre el Holocausto bajo el ttulo. Poder ser
diferentes sin temor: Antisemitismo y exclusin, ayer y hoy. Organizado por el Centro de Ciencias Humanas
y Sociales-CSIC.
I Seminario Internacional sobre Antisemitismo en Catalua
Durante los das 7 y 8 de noviembre se realiz en Barcelona el 1er Seminario sobre Antisemitismo en Catalua.
El seminario es la primera iniciativa institucional y social conjunta en Catalunya que ha tratado el prejuicio de la
judeofobia de manera cientca y acadmica.

Civic Network against Anti-Semitism
Held on December 12th in the Sefarad-Israel Centre (Madrid), the network introduced various initiatives to combat
Anti-Semitism in Spain, such as the the Holocaust archive of the Public Library Gerardo Diego (Vallecas-Madrid),
the initiatives of the Observatory on Anti-Semitism, and the legal activities initiated by the Civic Network against
Anti-Semitism.

Acto de Estado en el Senado.
Presidido por su Presidente, Po Garca-Escudero, cont con la participacin de miembros del gobierno, destacados
polticos, representantes de instituciones judas y vctimas de la Sho.
Las intervenciones estuvieron a cargo del Presidente de la Federacin de Comunidades Judas de Espaa, Isaac
Querub Caro, del Director del Instituto de Cultura Gitana, Diego Luis Fernndez, del Ex Defensor del Pueblo, Enrique
Mgica Herzog, del Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperacin, Jos Manuel Garca-Margallo y del Presidente

El Acto organizado por tercer ao consecutivo por Rolde de Estudios Aragoneses (REA) y Amical de Mauthausen,

Catalua
Por sptimo ao el Parlament de Catalunya a travs de su presidenta Nuria de Gispert convoc al Acto de Memoria
de las Vctimas del Holocausto que se celebr el pasado jueves 26 de enero.
Al solemne encendido de las seis velas del recuerdo siguieron los discursos de los representantes de los diferentes
colectivos perseguidos por los nazis, homosexuales, discapacitados, deportados catalanes republicanos, gitanos y
judos. Todos coincidieron en el deber de recordar el horror para que no se repita y en la importancia de educar en
la tolerancia y el respeto.
Extremadura
El Parlamento extremeo se ha sumado por primer ao a los actos de Recuerdo a las Vctimas del Holocausto
con un evento en el que el Presidente de la Cmara regional, Fernando Manzano, dio lectura a la declaracin
institucional consensuada por los dos Grupos Parlamentarios y la Agrupacin de Diputados en la que se recuerda a
las vctimas y se condenan los comportamientos intolerantes, discriminatorios, xenfobos y racistas.
Islas Baleares
Ante la presencia de unas sesenta personas, entre las cuales se encontraban diversas autoridades civiles y religiosas,
el Vicepresidente del Palament Pere Palau i Torres y David Kaisin, Presidente de la Comunitat Jueva Illes Balears,
leyeron sus discursos en homenaje a las vctimas de la barbarie nazi.
Posteriormente se prendieron siete velas en honor de los seis millones de judos asesinados ms otra adicional en
memoria de las vctimas no judas. Daniel Benolol recit la oracin de El Mal Rajamim. Finalmente, y tras la pieza
de violn Vilno, Vilno, se guard un emotivo minuto de silencio.
Madrid
Con las intervenciones del Presidente de la Asamblea de Madrid, Jos Ignacio Echeverra, Jaime Vandor,
superviviente del gueto de Budapest, el Embajador de Israel, Aln Bar, la Presidenta de la Comunidad Autnoma
de Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre y el Presidente de la Comunidad Juda de Madrid, David Hatchwel Altaras, se celebr
en la Asamblea de Madrid, por 12 ao consecutivo, el Acto en recuerdo de la Sho.

The event is organized for the third consecutive year by Rolde from Aragonese Studies (REA) and Amical Mauthausen,
was attended by the Vice President of the Institutional Committee of the Parliament of Aragon, Carmen Sanchez.
Catalonia
For the seventh year the Catalan Parliament through its president Nuria de Gispert celebrated the Memory of the
Victims of the Holocaust event, which took place on Thursday January 26th.
At the solemn lighting of six candles of remembrance followed the speeches of the representatives of the dierent
groups persecuted by the Nazis, homosexuals, the disabled, deported Catalan Republicans, Gypsies and Jews. All
agreed the duty to remember the horror in order of no repeating it, and the importance of education in tolerance
and respect.
Extremadura
Extremadura Parliament has joined for the rst year the acts of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust
with an event in which the President of the Regional Chamber, Fernando Manzano, read out the o cial statement
agreed by the two parliamentary groups and the Association of Deputies in which the victims are remembered and
condemns intolerant, discriminatory, xenophobic and racist behavior.
Balearic Islands
In the presence of about sixty people, among whom were several civil and religious authorities, Parliament Vice-
president Pere Palau i Torres and David Kaisin, and the President of the Comunitat Jueva Illes Balears (Jewish
Community of the Balearic Islands), read their speeches in tribute to the victims of Nazi horror.
Subsequently seven candles were lit in honor of the six million Jews murdered, and an additional one in memory
of other non-Jewish victims. Daniel Benolol recited the prayer of El Mal Rachamim. Finally, after the violin piece
Vilno, Vilno, a minute of silence was observed.
Madrid
With statements by the President of the Assembly of Madrid, Jos Ignacio Echeverra, Jaime Vandor, Budapest

El Parlamento de Navarra conmemor el da 27 la Jornada Europea de la Memoria del Holocausto con un acto en
el que los parlamentarios, escolares y personas mayores han encendido 150 velas para recordar a las vctimas y
condenar la persecucin por razones de raza, sexo o condicin social y religiosa.
El presidente de la Cmara, Alberto Cataln, fue el encargado de dirigir el acto.

concierto en recuerdo a las vctimas del Holocausto. El cuarteto encargado de la interpretacin fue Millenium Arts
Ensemble.

Exposicin No es juego de nios en la Sala Paronmica del Centro de Arte Alcobendas, muestra comisariada por
Yad Vashem que recrea la vivencia de los nios en el Holocausto durante su atroz connamiento en los campos.

Acto y Exposicin
El Ayuntamiento de Alcorcn ha realizado por primera vez un Acto conmemorativo del Da de la Memoria del
Holocausto, en colaboracin con la Comunidad Juda de Madrid.
En el marco de la conmemoracin, la exposicin Visados para la Libertad coordinada por Sefarad-Israel, se
expondr durante enero y febrero en el Centro Municipal de las Artes (Teatro Buero Vallejo). La muestra da a conocer
la labor desarrollada a favor de los judos durante la II Guerra Mundial por diplomticos espaoles como ngel Sanz
Briz, Bernardo Rolland de Miota, Sebastin Romero Radigales, Julio Palencia y Tubau, Jos Rojas Moreno, Jos Ruiz
Santaella y Eduardo Propper de Callejn. A travs de nacionalizaciones y cartas de proteccin, los funcionarios
espaoles protagonistas de la exposicin auxiliaron, protegieron, y salvaron a centenares de judos principalmente
sefardes.

The Parliament of Navarra commemorated the 27th European Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust with
a ceremony in which parliamentarians, students and seniors have lit 150 candles to remember the victims and

On the other hand, the Aula Magna of the Capuchin Convent of the city was the place chosen to hold a concert in
memory of Holocaust victims. The quartet responsible for the interpretation was Millenium Arts Ensemble.

Exhibition No childs play in the panoramic Hall Art Centre Alcobendas.
Exhibition curated by Yad Vashem that recreates the experience of children in the Holocaust during their atrocious
connement in the death camps.

Act and Exhibition
Alcorcn City Council has for the rst time celebrated the Commemoration Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust,
in collaboration with the Jewish Community of Madrid.
As part of the commemoration, the exhibition Visas for Freedom coordinated by Sefarad-Israel, will be exhibited
during January and February at the Municipal Arts Center (Teatro Buero Vallejo). The exhibition unveils the work
done on behalf of the Jews during World War II by Spanish diplomats as Angel Sanz Briz, Bernardo Rolland Miota,
