Re: Debbie Schramm Scholarship-1969
JIM AITEEN AWARDED SCHRAMM ACHOLARSHIP
This year, the Debbie Schramm Scholarship, awarded to an outstanding
senior of Mahopac High School who is involved in running was awarded to
James Aitken. Jim has been involved in running for the past four years. Jim
ran on Mahopac"s cross-country team as a ninth grader but got involved in
soccer in his sophomore year. He then returned to running and participated
on both the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams in his senior year. Jim
made Sectionals and was All-league in these sports.
He has participated in Taconic events such as the Debbie Schramm lOK and
he has completed the Biathlon several times. He plans to do the Biatiilon
again this year.
Jim will be attending the University of Massachusetts next year. He intends
to major in Civil Engineering. He does not plan to run competitively in school
during his freshman year but will denitely be a recreational runner. Jim is
a very personable young man and on behalf of all of the members of T.R.R.C.,
wish him the best in college. I, and I hope many of you, m\\ be on hand to
meet Jim at this year's Biathlon!
Best Wishes Jim!
To T R R C :
I just wanted to thank the volunteers for the ne job they
did at the Sybil Ludington Run. The support this year was
phenomenal, and for people to give up most of a weekend day
to aid only about 25 runners is truly "giving back" to run
