ABSTARCT
Automation is basically the delegation of human control function to technical equipment for Increasing
Productivity, Increasing Quality, Reducing Cost, Increasing Safety in working conditions, Easier to
troubleshoot.
Also you can say an automatically controlled operation of an apparatus, process, or system by
mechanically or an electronics device that takes the place of human labor is called automation.Control
engineering has evolved over time. In the past human were the main methods for controlling a system.
More recently electricity has been used for control and early electrical control was based on relays. These
relays allow power to be switched on and off without a mechanical switch. It is common to use relays to
make simple logical control decisions. The development of low cost computer has brought the most recent
revolution, Most of this is because of the advantages they offer.

INTRODUCTION
Siemens offers a broad range of AC drives. In the past, AC drives required expert set-up and
commissioning to achieve desired operation. The Siemens MICROMASTER offers out of the box

commissioning with auto tuning for motor calibration, flux current control, vector control, and PID
(Proportional- Integral-Derivative) regulator loops. The MICROMASTER is controlled by a programmable
digital microprocessor and is characterized by ease of setup and use.
Course focuses on several Siemens AC drives, which include the MICROMASTER and MASTERDRIVE
VC, which are important elements of the TIA strategy.

MOTIVATION
IATC and IAG automation is a Siemens authorized system house and training centre. It
provides the training of PLC, SCADA, HMI and Drives and as well as motivate the students to
learn the designing of the PLC and other panels. It not just providing the theoretical knowledge
but also giving us industrial knowledge. It supports the SITRAIN program which the Siemens
Technical Education Program (STEP 7) with the cooperation of German Government to enhance
the industrial automation skills.
OBJECTIVE
Siemens is one of the leading PLC providers in world. Although Siemens is not only the PLC
providers they also having the all other things which helps in the automation like AC and DC
drives, Human Machine Interface(HMI), SCADA and Switchgear.
PLCs not only are capable of performing the same tasks as hard-wired control, but are also
capable of many more complex applications. In addition, the PLC program and electronic
communication lines replace much of the interconnecting wires required by hard-wired control.
Therefore, hard-wiring, though still required to connect field devices, is less intensive. This also
makes correcting errors and modifying the application easier.
My objective is to learn all technologies for industrial automation which are provided by
Siemens.
