Vivamos espiritualmente la Resurreccin de Cristo

Hemos entrado en el tiempo pascual que se extiende durante cincuenta das hasta
Pentecosts. El color litrgico de este tiempo es el blanco, pues es el color de la luz, de la claridad,
de la pureza, realidades relacionadas con el misterio de la Resurreccin.
Este tiempo pascual es el tiempo litrgico ms importante, pues como dice el Catecismo:
La Pascua no es simplemente una fiesta entre otras: es la Fiesta de las fiestas, Solemnidad de
las solemnidades, como la Eucarista es el Sacramento de los sacramentos (el gran sacramento).
San Atanasio la llama el gran domingo, as como la Semana Santa es llamada en Oriente "la
gran semana". (C.C.C.1169)
En este tiempo hemos de vivir espiritualmente el misterio de la Resurreccin de Cristo.
Tenemos que desde ahora espiritualmente resucitar con Cristo. Es la primera resurreccin que
tenemos por la que tenemos que pasar para acceder a la segunda, por eso San Juan dice:
"Bienaventurado el que tiene parte en la primera resurreccin" (Apoc 20, 6). Hemos de vencer la
muerte del alma que es el pecado. Para nosotros son las palabras del Apstol: "Despierta, t que
duermes, y levntate de entre los muertos, y Cristo te iluminar" (Ef 5, 14).
Si Cristo resucit al tercer da, no dejando pasar tanto tiempo para salir de la muerte, de la
misma manera, nosotros tenemos que salir rpidamente de la muerte espiritual que es el pecado
mortal. Siempre recordemos lo que dice el libro del Eclesistico: "No te tardes en convertirte al
Seor, y no lo difieras de un da para otro"(Eccl 5, 8). Adems, el diablo, dice San Beda, cuanto
por ms tiempo posee, tanto ms difcilmente deja.
Si Cristo ha resucitado a una vida incorruptible y la muerte ya no tiene poder sobre l como
dice San Pablo: "Cristo, una vez resucitado de entre los muertos, ya no muere ms; la muerte no
tiene ya seoro sobre l" (Rom 6, 9), del mismo modo, nosotros no tenemos que volver al pecado.
No debemos volver ms a la antigua condicin. Por eso San Pablo aplica la resurreccin a la vida
de cada cristiano al decir: "As tambin vosotros, consideraos como muertos al pecado y vivos para
Dios en Cristo Jess. No reine, pues, el pecado en vuestro cuerpo mortal, de modo que obedezcis
a sus concupiscencias. Ni ofrezcis vuestros miembros como armas de iniquidad al pecado, sino
ms bien ofreceos a Dios como quienes, muertos, han vuelto a la vida"(Romanos 6, 3-5)
Finalmente, Cristo ha resucitado a una vida nueva y gloriosa. As tambin nosotros tenemos
que resucitar a esa misma vida, de modo que evitemos todo aquello que antes ha sido ocasin y
causa de muerte espiritual. San Pablo afirma: "As como Cristo resucit de entre los muertos por la
gloria del Padre, as tambin nosotros caminemos en una vida nueva". (Rom 6, 4).
Vivamos, por lo tanto, la vida de la gracia a pleno en este tiempo de Pascua. Valoremos la
gracia del sacramento de la confesin donde resucitamos espiritualmente; acudamos mejor y ms
frecuentes a la gracia del sacramento de la Eucarista que es prenda de la resurreccin de nuestros
cuerpos.
Lets live Christs Resurrection spiritually
Weve begun the Easter season, which lasts for 50 days until Pentecost. The liturgical color
of this season is white, since white is the color of light, clarity, and purity, all of which are
associated with the mystery of the Resurrection.
The Easter season is the most important liturgical season, as the Catechism says: Easter is
not simply one feast among others, but the Feast of feasts, the "Solemnity of solemnities," just as
the Eucharist is the "Sacrament of sacraments (the Great Sacrament). St. Athanasius calls Easter
the Great Sunday and the Eastern Churches call Holy Week the Great Week. " (C.C.C.1169).
In this season, we should live the mystery of Christs Resurrection spiritually. From now on,
we must spiritually resurrect with Christ. His is the first Resurrection that we have, and the first one
we must pass through in order to draw near to the second, which is why Saint John says, " Blessed*
and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection. " (Rev 20:6). We must conquer sin, which
is the death of the soul. The Apostles words are meant for us: " Awake, O sleeper, and arise from
the dead, and Christ will give you light." (Eph 5:14).
If Christ resurrected on the third day, not letting much time pass before coming back from
death, then we, in the same way, must quickly leave behind the spiritual death of mortal sin. Let us
always remember what the book of Sirach says: Do not delay turning back to the Lord, do not put
it off day after day (Sir 5:8). Moreover, as Saint Bede says, the more time that the devil has a hold
of us, the more difficult it is to make him leave.
If Christ has been raised to an incorruptible life, and if death no longer has any power over
Him, as Saint Paul says, Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has power
over him (Rom 6:9), then neither should we return to sin. We must not return to our prior state.
This is why Saint Paul applies the resurrection to life to every Christian when he says: Therefore,
sin must not reign over your mortal bodies so that you obey their desires. And do not present the
parts of your bodies to sin as weapons for wickedness, but present yourselves to God as raised from
the dead to life and the parts of your bodies to God as weapons for righteousness. For sin is not to
have any power over you, since you are not under the law but under grace. (Rom 6:12-14).
Lastly, Christ has resurrected to a new and glorious life. We too must rise to that new life, in
such a way that we avoid everything that was previously an occasion and a cause of our spiritual
death. Saint Paul affirms: Just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we
too might live in newness of life (Rom 6:4).
Let us therefore live the life of grace to the fullest in this Easter season. Let us appreciate the
grace of the sacrament of confession where we are spiritual resurrected; let us draw better and more
often from the grace of the sacrament of the Eucharist, which is the pledge of the resurrection of our
bodies.
