Child Trauma
This is a picture drawn
by a 12 year old who
had witnessed violence
in his life. Dr. Bruce
Perry says that child
who survive traumatic
experiences have a
major disruption in their
life.
This chart shows the difference between a child who has
experienced trauma and one who has lived a normal life.
Questions & Future Children
How does finding values
in differences help kids
who have dealt with
child trauma?
How does applying the
six core strengths for
children help parents
prevent child trauma?

Dr. Bruce Perry has studied
many children who have
experienced child trauma, and
ways that we can prevent
those events from happening.
He has also studied how we
can deal with and help those
children cope with those
traumas. If ever in the future
our children are faced with
something like this we will be
able to use his theories to help
them, and we know how to
prevent them with his six core
strengths.
