Dear Ms. Monarrez,
Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Lauren Davis, and I AM a highly
qualified teacher. I have just finished Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education and
Special Education, at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, on the Tempe Campus of
Arizona State University.
I became interested in your school after seeing a job posting for a Kindergarten
teacher. I love that the school is a small campus and that the class ratios are low. Most
teachers starting fresh out of school would love a position where the class ratios are low.
However that is not why I am interested in your school, my interest was spiked because of:
1. The opportunity to really change, inspire, and customize education for the young
students.
2. The close relationships that teachers and parents develop with each other to better
their students education.
3. The character counts program that your school participates in.
When I first started at Arizona State University I was actively volunteering at a local
elementary school that also participated in a character counts program much like yours. The
changes that I saw in the students over the course of the year was amazing, and made me a
big believer and supporter of similar programs.
That being said, since I have completed my degree at Arizona State University, I
think you will find that I am more qualified than other first year teachers because I have

completed the ITeachAZ program, which has given me the oppotunity to intern and student
teach over the course of two years while completing my studies.
However you will also find that my experience runs deeper than other first year
teachers as well, because, I was also a preschool teacher for 7 years before starting my
training at ASU, three of which were at a Nationally Accredited Center. During my time at
the NAC center, I completed my Child Development Associates degree. And before I started
at that center, in California, I completed over sixty additional units of early childhood
education at my local community college. Including some classes that dealt with different
situations that are often covered briefly in traditional teachers education classes. Classes
such as: A Teachers Role for Trauma in Children, and a Teachers Role in Child Abuse.

I believe that you will find that I would in fact be a great addition to your team of
educators because of my previous experience as an early childhood educator, my willingness
to further my education, as well as my dedication to your schools mission, and providing
quality education for all children.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your time as well as your
consideration in regards to the opportunity to work alongside you to create better futures for
the younger generations. I would greatly appreciate it if you would also take a minute to stop
by my personal webpage which is all about my teaching career and professional
accomplishments. You can locate my webpage here: missdavis86.
