ORGANIZATIONAL PRACTICE WITH RESPECT TO 7S MCKENSY MODEL:-

STRUCTURE-
Structure includes the policies and procedures that govern the way in which
organization acts within and with the environment.
It refers to the organization arrangements made for grouping of activities and
reporting relationships to the organizational sub-units. The structure could be
functional, products/service wise etc. It also establishes the inter-relationship between
various function. This is very important to carry out the various activities of the firm.
The structure follows a top-down approach where the objectives are set by the
managing partner. The managing partner makes the strategic decisions. The decisions
regarding day to day activities concerned with the department are also taken by the
managing partner. In all, the companys business operations are divided into ----- broad
functions which form ---- departments. These functions include finance, human
resource,--------. Each of these functions are performed by the respective functional
departments with the help of respective functional departments with the help of
employees.
BIAL specifies the work specialization, departmentalization, chain of command,
span of control, centralization and decentralization and also formalization.

Work specialization- To what degree are the tasks submitted into separate jobs.
Departmentalization- On what basis will job is grouped together.
Chain of Command- the formalized route of authority.
Span of Control- The responsibilities of the manager or employee.








SKILLS-
Skills refer to the fact that employees have the skills to carry out the companys
strategy. Training and development- ensuring people know how to do their jobs and
stay up to date with the latest techniques.
BIAL regularly conducts skill enhancing training programmes for its employees from
all walks of the job. The topics included---------. Specially appointed external faculties
and senior BIAL experts explained the finer points and shared their experience of
deriving the efficiency.
Comprehensive training programmes on diagnosing and trouble shooting is

Leadership style-
BIALs management style is much similar to that of top down management.
Strategic decisions are made at the top level that is by the chairman.
Financial decisions are made by CEO in discussion with CFO.
Short term decisions are decentralized in BIAL.
Senior vice-presidents of different divisions make decisions of particular
decisions. In some cases departmental heads also makes decisions.
Much of the decision making is concerned with top management.
Employee Ideas/suggestions, participative feedback on ways of improving work
place and work related activities are highly valued at BIAL.

The decision making systems within the organization can range from
management institutions to structured computer system to complex expert systems and

STAFF-
Staff means that the company has hired able people, trained them well and assigned
them to the right jobs. Selection, training, reward and recognition, motivation and
assignment to appropriate work are all key issues.

of the employees are constantly improved through various training programmes.
