Consonants
Vocalise No. 22'
This vocalise should be sung in a somewhat marcata fashion.
Other consonants and vowels may be substituted, or vowels may be sung without initial
consonants.
This vocalise can q e used to practice articulating consonants at the ends of syllables. Syllables
such as [hik], [hit] and [biJ] can be sung, with the final consonant being articulated on the eighth
rest.
I t may be helpful to practice Breathing Exercise No. 3a before singing this vocalise.

primarily on the final [~. The [~ should then be elided directly into the vowel to provide
maximum tonal benefit.
