Academic Curriculum
Requirements

The tests that are required to attend college are the SAT and ACT tests. The test scores must be
turned in at a specific date before the start of the semester. There is an admission fee to apply for
colleges. The price varies depending on the college that the applicant is applying for. It is also
recommended that the applicant participates in an admission interview. Also, the applicant would
need to have taken prerequisites, which vary from school to school. Depending on the academic
career that is chosen, specific classes would be needed in order to do the program.
Overall Costs to Attend College
of Choice
The overall costs to attend college include the actual tuition to attend, the money it costs for books, supplies, and
anything else that is needed for class, the money needed for either a dorm room or an off-campus living space.
Purchasing food is also an important expense to save for while in college. Also, students have to worry about
washing their laundry and buying cleaning supplies. There are also some possible extra bills that would need to
be paid for, including: house bills, phone bills, internet bills, and life insurance payments. But what is a college
experience without enjoying the freedom and independance. You should also save money so that you could have
some entertainment. Another important variable is transportation. You can either already have a car, that you
will need to pay off and the included car insurance payments. Then last but not least, it is most likely that while
in college you will be paying for clothes.
Housing and Meal Plan
Options
Plan MealCredits per Week
(Panther Dining Only)
FlexCredit Cost per Semester
MPA1 Unlimited Meal Credits 7 Days a Week $150 $2,660
MPA2 Unlimited Meal Credits 5 Days a Week $350 $2,660
MPU1 Unlimited Lunch Credits 5 days a Week $700 $1,640
MPU2 N/A $1,640 $1,640

Commuter A** Unlimited Lunch Credits 5 Days a Week N/A $890
Commuter B** N/A $555 $555

Different colleges offer different meal plans. It also depends on your living choices. If
you decide to live on campus, your meal plan options would be different than if
someone were to live off campus. If you lived on campus, it would make more sense
that you were given the option of a seven day meal plan. If you lived off campus, it
would be a better option to get the cheaper plan because you may only be spending
school hours on campus and wouldnt need access to food all day every day. You can
decide to either live in a dorm room alone or with roommates. You could live in an
apartment with college buddies. You could also just remain living with family, but it
would be better to move on with your life.
Student
Life
All of the colleges given do not necessarily have a similar lifestyle because the prices of certain things
differ. With MIT being the most costly, Georgia Tech, and the Florida Institute of Technology being the second
and third most costly. This changes up the lifestyles because your college career revolves around the money that
you have to pay to attend the college, pay for dorms, necessities, etc. The changes in this account affects you
because you must attend the college that you can afford and so on.
Athleti
cs
When it comes to athletics Georgia Tech includes a wide variety of sports including basketball,
baseball, golf, tennis, track, cross country, swimming, diving, softball, and volleyball. MITs sports include
skiing, fencing, hockey, gymnastics, pistol team, sailing, soccer, swimming, diving, tennis, and volleyball.
Florida Institute of Technologys sports include, baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse,
rowing, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, softball, and volleyball. University of Floridas sports include
basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

Final Choice of College
To Attend
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Although this school is not easy to keep up with paying the amount of money needed to attend, but this
school is known for their engineering program and attending this school would improve my chances for
success in the future.
The graduation rate is much higher in this school than the others. The freshman retention rate is also much
higher than the other schools that I chose to research.
IT IS RANKED AT NUMBER SEVEN !!!!
The student / faculty ratio is much lower, which would allow for students to have a more effective
learning experience.
Also according to the website :
MIT provided 78 percent of all aid to its undergraduates in 2011-2012. Of this MIT financial aid,
93 percent took the form of scholarships, less than 1 percent was loans, and about 7 percent
employment. The average amount of MIT scholarship per recipient in 2011-2012 was $32,917.
